    I have mine velcro-ed backing, so i can switch patches anytime. the base velcro should accommodate difference sizes and shapes. Nways, it is totally user preference. ;)

    Hello! For maximum longevity, would you suggest ironing and then stitching? Or just glueing and then stitching? Or glueing, ironing and then stitching?

      She mentioned in the video using contact cement.
      So now what I did was, applied the contact cement on the patch, made sure the shirt was flat(placing a smooth cardboard underneath to prevent any creases) then ironing the patch with a cloth on top.
      Then stitching it in place, quite tedious but I know it in myself its not going anywhere.
      ps: there's no tailor nearby willing to do these kind of things so I had to do them myself

    Awesome detail, and amazing information. Wonderful job! As this is my first time applying patches in my adult life, I wanted to revisit to make sure I was doing it to the best of results, and this will solidify that.

    The first part of my comment is about the style of the video - I really loved the overall feel of the video. The camera work, the music and the voice narration were great! The video was very professional and entertaining.
    The next part of my comment is about patches. I LOVE patches and as evidenced by your video, you do too. It was nice to see someone just slightly obsessed like me ;-)
    My brother is a furniture upholster and does most of my heavy duty work, but I do the light duty sewing myself. That one seeing machine with the narrow, vertical lower half looks really versatile and can get into some tight spaces.
    Great job on the video, I enjoyed it!

      E6000, on Amazon or most hardware stores 🙌

    If I am using a iron on a bag that is maybe polyster or waterproof material won't that melt the pvc in that ? Also if I stitch it won't the needles puncture the pvc ? Help please ?

    • @Asilda
      @Asilda  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would avoid heat in this case. Use E6000 glue and you can sew the edges. I know punctures are not ideal, but all the seams are already stitched. If you find that the punctures compromise your waterproof gear (do a quick test), there are $8 waterproof patches (for tears usually) on Amazon for camping tents that fix these problems. I don't think it will get to this extreme, but you'll know you have this option. Hope this helps! A

      E6000 it's about $5 on amazon and at retail stores, should be easy to find. Thanks for the question.

    • @Asilda
      @Asilda  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's e6000 glue in the video. But others can work well too, just needs to be washer/dryer safe and wok for fabric.

    Much as I appreciate this may be intended to be helpful, I'd question how appropriate the chosen fashionable film making aesthetic is for an instructional video. The combo of deliberate pretentious handheld wobbles at key points, a shallow depth of field (with associated focusing compromises), and a particularly heavy blue shadowed LUT make for quite a challenging watch.
