If I remember right, the Red/Crimson version was a Bachmann Collector special edition, though might be thinking of the Crimson 8F, but yeah either one would be in limited numbers and quite expensive on eBay. Might be an option to buy a spare body and repaint it then swap them round as needed.
@@GosportRailworks couldn’t I just join the club or something . Or would that even work for this and once the item is owned and in my collection remove myself from the club 😕
When I was part of the Club, it cost about £40 a year, and the items they have on offer are limited edition so they don't have them there all the time, so once they all sell out then they are gone from the store for good.
@@GosportRailworks well that’s just plain supid … why don’t just sell that same model as a smaller amount as the others and for a shorter time and so I can’t get a black one and swap the bodies on the part shop or somerhing
Sorry for late reply, busy weekend! And it's mostly they only have so much space in the production schedule from the factory, which is also shared with OO Gauge production, and you should be able to get a black Ivatt 2MT from Clark Railworks for a good price, then should be able to repaint the body from there.
Cheers very much Malcolm! And it does indeed look very nice and it does run quite well, goes seem that both Farish's latest Moguls (this and the N) are superb runners!
Glad that you enjoyed it, and yeah heh, I often have to find something to do while waiting for things to arrive to do other videos, so the review videos are often done some time in advance!
There is a slight representation of the hinged footplate, though I don't recall them being hinged as have only seen them flat against the loco (Sadly, I don't have a complete 2MT anymore to look for myself) But you can see it if you look up the rear view on the body spare part off the Bachmann Spares website.
Ah no worries, and do like how they looked and also impressed with the detail, though the only one I have now was a broken one which I reused as the chassis for my LBSC K Class, still a good runner though!
@@GosportRailworks I like them because one of my earliest memories is watching these working a local branch line. I'm mainly O gauge DC, On30 DCC and now dabbling in N. After a few disappointing locos (Dapol Ivatt 2-6-2 has a junk motor), wow, someone really got these right. Really impressed with running and detail. A good example of what can be achieved in this tiny scale. I re motored the Dapol and now it's much better. Did a couple of Farish 8fs. Nothing really wrong with them but they did get rather warm, so they have coreless now as well and run like the Ivatts.
In N Gauge I have found that while Farish prices are quite high, they are always reliable runners for the most part, Dapol can now and then make nice steam engines but in my experience there's always a good chance of something being up with them. Either poor running or unable to pull anything more than a coach or two, though hoping their newer rereleases sort out these issues.
They also made the thing in red too .
Tho I don’t know how I would ever get that varient but that’s for January me to worry about now 😂
Good video

Great video! Layout looking good - Ivatt nice looking loco and seems a good runner. Malcolm

Yes I loved the video and the Loco
Glad you liked the loco Terence!
Nice test. Do I detect time travel, your 3rd rail has vanished. Pete

They also have a hinged footplate on the loco across to the tender?

@@GosportRailworks Sorry, should have said, I have two. Pretty and detailed things.
