Never heard of these....anything that makes downwind safer sounds good...I must go and research more about them, thank you!

Definitely worthwhile! There are some good alternatives out there too, including the Gyb Easy from Wichard which you can remove easily.

@@sailingsummerbreeze If it means I can remove the vang, I like this Walder thing?

@@lauriebloggs8391 yes you could ditch the vang, it’s very effective as a vang in itself and only one line to adjust!

Hi. How’s the Walder going? Still don’t need a vang? How’s she tack in light wind? Have to release Walder? Thanks.

    1st :O
Nice choice, wouldn't it pay to leave existing Kicker on for added safety and Mainsheet control !!

Hey Chris, that was something I wondered about but interestingly the boombrake acts very effectively as a kicker so it turns out there’s no need for both. If you had a solid vang it may be different though as they’re probably better still, I only had a rope kicker before.

@@sailingsummerbreeze aah, good point, its just that i recalled the YM review left it on, but on reflection I see that was a solid Vang!!!

@@sailingsummerbreeze Sadly no, my ride's down in the South West, but lovely weather for it today if light airs, but glad you're enjoying some late season jollies!!
