+Olivebates Technically, arachnophobia is "The fear of spiders" the only difference could be how drastic the fear is. But in terms of literal meaning, having even the slightest fear of spiders can be categorized as arachnophobia. incorrect use of the word in this case is really just based on perception of the words connotation. Such as saying something that's inexpensive is cheap. "cheap" is usually conceptualized by bad or ineffective. while saying something is "inexpensive" usually gives the idea that the price is really low for the product you're getting.
so in all, I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm not saying you're right. I'm just rejecting your idea based on the fact that phobias' or philias' contexts' are more based off personal understanding and perceived connotation.
My sister is extremely disabled, and she loves undertale. She doesn't have much concept of reality vs fiction, so she genuinely believes that this is muffet singing. In her eyes, this is the real muffet.

It's interesting how you put a romantic twist on this. I hadn't seen Spider Dance as anything other than playful. Is it possible that Muffet was thinking of something much deeper when you were fighting her? By the way, this is probably my favorite of the music box covers you've done. I can't exactly figure out what it is that makes it stand out to me but I think that the mystery actually makes it more fitting. Man, it's still so surprising that Muffet is a Kickstarter character. She's turned into so much more than that, for having such a short amount of screen time.

If we were to assume that the lyric she said about being blue means sadness, sorrow, and grief, then that would not fit into the context of this song or cover at all.

I played Among Us this morning playing a version my group likes to call Murder Tag, where everyone knows who the impostor is, comms are disabled and it's a race for the humans to finish their tasks before the impostor kills everybody. The turn I got at being impostor, there were two people left plus me, and I started singing this as it was counting down the timer to the final kill I needed to win. I was chasing someone on "nowhere to flee" and caught them just as I sang "now your soul belong to me", it was such great timing and a very sweet victory :3
I was listening to Spider Dance and subconsciously started singing along to it with these lyrics. It's ridiculous how much this version is ingrained in my memory to the point where I can't unhear it when listening to the regular OST.

When I first listened to this, it was with my at the time girlfriend. She was hugely into Undertale, and she was the one to properly get me into the game which i now am in love with. We used to have so much fun, I visited at her house on the weekend and I walked her to dance practice in the evening and then wait it out, walk back to her place with her, buy chockolate on the way and then play Undertale all night ahh the good times I get reminded of every time I hear this song or even when i fight Muffet in the game.
