      That plus his surprise at a lot of things Spock did. One of my favorite scenes with the two of them is the whale tank scene in the fourth movie. Priceless!

    The music adds so much to this scene, it's perfect. so much of the Star Trek music was just like that in so many episodes.

    Nimoy's spock is far better than what I've seen with Quinto. He, Quinto plays him like a stereotype of what someone thinks a vulcan should be , very very dry. Nimoy was much more emotive than people realize.

    I love the little subtle acting touch is here by William Shatner. His obvious exasperation when Spock doesn’t salute and the major stops him and then the clipped way he speaks about a Zeon hitting Spock and as if he’s unfamiliar with using such a brutal language.

    That was an inside joke. Both Shatner and Nimoy were Jews from Canada. Good friends, Shatner was politically conservative and Nimoy was very liberal.

      No stranger than Werner Klemperer on Hogan's Heroes playing Col. Klink. He was Jewish, along with John Banner who played Schultz, Howard Caine who played Hochstetter and Leon Askin who played Burkhalter. Klempere escaped Nazi Germany in 1933 and all four of them served in the US armed services during the war.

    I really need to get the original series on DVD. I do have the animated series, though.
    Funny how in all media, except "Raiders of the Lost Ark", all captured uniforms are the correct size of what is needed.

    another reason they got caught is they kept calling that guy "major" instead of standartenfuhrer, which is his ss rank insignia. Even if you converted it to the army equivalent, he was an oberst (colonel). But kudos to kirk for trying.

      I was wondering if I was the only one seeing all these Airco boxes at the windows lol. Jesus that cheap set...i think it's the one you can visit in Universal Studios, where they shoot all kind of series and movies. Like, THE default set lol :)

    This episode does not get revived as much as many of the other Star Trek ones, probably seen as controversial.
