Personally, I think it was in the season 7 finale, "Survival of the Fittest," when they go to Sucracorp to kill Dick. There's a scene the night before they go when Cas and Dean are talking and Dean says he would rather have Cas with them than not; Cas smiles and says he thinks he detects a note of forgiveness, and I think it was in that exchange right there. Cas is nuts, but in his most simple and precious, and that's when it happened.

There was no point in killing Dean, Sam or Cas because we went down that road too many times. I agree with Sam retiring as a hunter to settle down. I think Dean should've continued as a hunter. You could have Cas not die exactly but maybe he has to return to heaven and won't be able to return to earth during Sam or Deans lifetime for whatever reason. So, it would still feel like an ending.
It was nice to see this fandom and the show, even if I wasn't part of it that much especially with the final episode. I guess it's time for us to go since it's been 15 years now, who knows what new story awaits for us just like this one.

I have nothing wrong with the underlying tension and feeling that is this pairing, however, what I do have an issue with is how this came to be like just as he is about to die, no respect for that character and another way this series has treated its gay or lesbian characters with disrespect. Has everyone forgotten what this show did to the original Charlie and how her fate came about in that bathtub? To be frank this series has done a horrible job with its lgbtq characters. I wasn't a fan of the other world version of Charlie because she wasn't Charlie, not that in that sense, and even then they didn't really do justice to this iteration of the character. This series was all about straight characters and any lgbtq character was pushed to the background. People's opinions of Castiel's sexuality has likely been debate for a long time and still, learning about it as it is brought to light in those final moments...kind of wished they hadn't done that just cause the character is dying, and that just sucks.

Koley Turner, I know what the spn authors were trying to do always inserting random female characters in order to show that "bros before ho-es", always demonizing women (the "wife and kids" plus sex life was all these females had to offer) and romantic love in general to show that bro love was superior. I just think they failed since unlike them, I think you can love a woman without having your brother feel betrayed or some sh-t like the ones they wrote again and again on the show. You can both love your brother and having a healthy romantic (not just se-xual) relationship. For example, Dean and Cas had that. That's why me and many others saw them as a perfect couple and were disappointed that they couldn't be completely happy with their love, as it lacked the se-xual part. That was the only thing missing from their love relationship, IMO. Which was a shame since Dean really deserved to be loved by someone the way Cas loved him and live a full life with him/her. I wouldn't have minded it being a female; the thing is the spn authors never wrote Her, LOL. They wrote Cas (angel, in a male vessel) as that person. Cas loved Dean more than himself. Dean also loved Cas. I just wanted them to be happy.
First thing to remember is that Cass is an angel and this physical representation that we saw Jimmy Novak was a human male but Cass's perfect vessel was meant to be Jimmy's daughter Claire Novak thus Cass may technically not be a male. It was just Cass loved Dean because he saw how much he sacrificed everyday to save the world without thank adoration or adulation. He saw how much Dean wanted the things he claimed he didn't. He just sacrificed himself constantly to the greater good. He saw underneath it all a person who never quit and still had compassion and empathy for the world that nothing but scorn him. Whether not he lusted after him is something I still don't know. But clearly he saw Dean as the hero of this story. It was about Cass's understanding of humanity and Dean being the perfect representation of free will. Whether it was love, lust or friendship.
I can't wait until the July one, they're so close to us! These conventions seem awesome to go to and even imaging being in front of Misha makes me nervous. ^^

Damn - I just watched the ENTIRE show from 1-15 over the past year or so and I got ZERO vibes of Castiel being in love with Dean. I attributed his behaviour around Dean as him being a sweet awkward angel… even THAT final scene and confession, it was just him telling his family he loves him. It was only after I finished the show and was reading about the finale that I discovered ‘Destiel’ was a thing. Took it all on face value. Dammit. Now I may have to start it again with this new mindset 😂😂 I do feel a bit lost now, going to miss watching these guys - I’ve been with them so intensely! Ugly cried my way through the ‘Carry on wayward son’ montage.
Literally me right now! It’s 4:30 am and I can’t stop watching Destiel stuff. I didn’t get a vibe either until I started watching bloopers after I completed the show. Reading certain comments got me questioning. A few people are upset that there wasn’t a kiss in the last scene but that would have been way to shocking for me. I would be wanting it if there is a reboot and more people get the chance to understand the true connection they had and a bit more obvious about it so it’s not so shocking.

Because we live in a first world country and for many people, entertainment is the most important part of their lives, and like most people do without realizing it, they insert meaning into things that matter to them and once it’s put into their perspective it’s super hard to get rid of. I did the same things with certain themes I thought were subtle but super totally there in Star Wars as a youngster (the original movies and the prequels having very specific force oriented themes, not sexual ones although luke and leia in empire is a little sus…), and man when something adds a ton of personal meaning to something you consume near religiously, it’s impossible not to see it, and even harder to really be able to acknowledge if it’s you putting it in there or if it’s really there until you’re able to step away as come back to it in a more neutral way.
The show had several gay characters so why do the fandom not mention them. Its all about Cas and Dean, what about Sam - he wasn't exactly running around with the ladies! No mention of his emotional well being or relief of sexual tensions. All anyone seems bothered about is Cas and Dean getting it on, how gratified they are that Cas has given queers validation - but the angel being an asexual being, able to inhabit the bodies of males or females in one sense makes that a nonsense! Well, Castiel was inhabiting a male vessel, which kept being recreated specifically for him every time he was resurrected. It became a part of him and who he was. So, while in his true form he may have no gender, as long as he inhabits Jimmy's form, he most certainly does. That being said, you are free to interpret his confession as platonic if that's how you want to see it. What you cannot do is tell others that we can't view it as a romantic confession, because canonically it was. This was confirmed by the writer, director, and by Misha himself. It's also canon that Dean's reaction was left open to interpretation. So, regardless, "Destiel" is only partially canon.
And the Chemistry between Castiel and Hannah? Or between Cas and Meg? That was much more tham between Cas and Dean. Is this nothing because nobody want to see it?
No one on the show had more chemistry than Cas and Dean. That is the reason Cas was kept on as a character. The relationship between Cas and Dean was pivotal to so many episodes.

No matter what you think of Dean's feelings on the matter, Cas was in love with Dean. The scene was written by a gay man to be an in-love confession. What the fuck do y'all Cas-is-in-love-with-Dean deniers think the line "the one thing i want, i know its something i cant have" means? Cas at that point has Dean's love platonically and brotherly... So the one thing Cas wants that he knows he can't have is Dean reciprocating Cas' in-love feelings. Personally, I think it was in the season 7 finale, "Survival of the Fittest," when they go to Sucracorp to kill Dick. There's a scene the night before they go when Cas and Dean are talking and Dean says he would rather have Cas with them than not; Cas smiles and says he thinks he detects a note of forgiveness, and I think it was in that exchange right there. Cas is nuts, but in his most simple and precious, and that's when it happened.

There was no point in killing Dean, Sam or Cas because we went down that road too many times. I agree with Sam retiring as a hunter to settle down. I think Dean should've continued as a hunter. You could have Cas not die exactly but maybe he has to return to heaven and won't be able to return to earth during Sam or Deans lifetime for whatever reason. So, it would still feel like an ending.

I have nothing wrong with the underlying tension and feeling that is this pairing, however, what I do have an issue with is how this came to be like just as he is about to die, no respect for that character and another way this series has treated its gay or lesbian characters with disrespect. Has everyone forgotten what this show did to the original Charlie and how her fate came about in that bathtub? To be frank this series has done a horrible job with its lgbtq characters. I wasn't a fan of the other world version of Charlie because she wasn't Charlie, not that in that sense, and even then they didn't really do justice to this iteration of the character. This series was all about straight characters and any lgbtq character was pushed to the background. People's opinions of Castiel's sexuality has likely been debate for a long time and still, learning about it as it is brought to light in those final moments...kind of wished they hadn't done that just cause the character is dying, and that just sucks.

Koley Turner, I know what the spn authors were trying to do always inserting random female characters in order to show that "bros before ho-es", always demonizing women (the "wife and kids" plus sex life was all these females had to offer) and romantic love in general to show that bro love was superior. I just think they failed since unlike them, I think you can love a woman without having your brother feel betrayed or some sh-t like the ones they wrote again and again on the show. You can both love your brother and having a healthy romantic (not just se-xual) relationship. For example, Dean and Cas had that. That's why me and many others saw them as a perfect couple and were disappointed that they couldn't be completely happy with their love, as it lacked the se-xual part. That was the only thing missing from their love relationship, IMO. Which was a shame since Dean really deserved to be loved by someone the way Cas loved him and live a full life with him/her. I wouldn't have minded it being a female; the thing is the spn authors never wrote Her, LOL. They wrote Cas (angel, in a male vessel) as that person. Cas loved Dean more than himself. Dean also loved Cas. I just wanted them to be happy.
First thing to remember is that Cass is an angel and this physical representation that we saw Jimmy Novak was a human male but Cass's perfect vessel was meant to be Jimmy's daughter Claire Novak thus Cass may technically not be a male.
It was just Cass loved Dean because he saw how much he sacrificed everyday to save the world without thank adoration or adulation. He saw how much Dean wanted the things he claimed he didn't. He just sacrificed himself constantly to the greater good. He saw underneath it all a person who never quit and still had compassion and empathy for the world that nothing but scorn him. Whether not he lusted after him is something I still don't know. But clearly he saw Dean as the hero of this story. It was about Cass's understanding of humanity and Dean being the perfect representation of free will. Whether it was love, lust or friendship.

Damn - I just watched the ENTIRE show from 1-15 over the past year or so and I got ZERO vibes of Castiel being in love with Dean. I attributed his behaviour around Dean as him being a sweet awkward angel… even THAT final scene and confession, it was just him telling his family he loves him. It was only after I finished the show and was reading about the finale that I discovered ‘Destiel’ was a thing. Took it all on face value. Dammit. Now I may have to start it again with this new mindset 😂😂 I do feel a bit lost now, going to miss watching these guys - I’ve been with them so intensely! Ugly cried my way through the ‘Carry on wayward son’ montage.
Literally me right now! It’s 4:30 am and I can’t stop watching Destiel stuff. I didn’t get a vibe either until I started watching bloopers after I completed the show. Reading certain comments got me questioning. A few people are upset that there wasn’t a kiss in the last scene but that would have been way to shocking for me. I would be wanting it if there is a reboot and more people get the chance to understand the true connection they had and a bit more obvious about it so it’s not so shocking.

Because we live in a first world country and for many people, entertainment is the most important part of their lives, and like most people do without realizing it, they insert meaning into things that matter to them and once it’s put into their perspective it’s super hard to get rid of. I did the same things with certain themes I thought were subtle but super totally there in Star Wars as a youngster (the original movies and the prequels having very specific force oriented themes, not sexual ones although luke and leia in empire is a little sus…), and man when something adds a ton of personal meaning to something you consume near religiously, it’s impossible not to see it, and even harder to really be able to acknowledge if it’s you putting it in there or if it’s really there until you’re able to step away as come back to it in a more neutral way.

I prefer to interpret their relationship as friendship and his confession means friends love or family love because this is what came first in my mind when i saw the scene untill i saw the social media interpreted it otherwise which made me so sad but after what he said it seems that it was pushed anyway and it was totally unnecessary
You can interpret it how you want that doesn’t change the fact the cas had romantic feelings for dean which has be said by multiple members of the cast your just choosing to be ignorant

Well, Castiel was inhabiting a male vessel, which kept being recreated specifically for him every time he was resurrected. It became a part of him and who he was. So, while in his true form he may have no gender, as long as he inhabits Jimmy's form, he most certainly does.
That being said, you are free to interpret his confession as platonic if that's how you want to see it. What you cannot do is tell others that we can't view it as a romantic confession, because canonically it was. This was confirmed by the writer, director, and by Misha himself. It's also canon that Dean's reaction was left open to interpretation. So, regardless, "Destiel" is only partially canon.
And the Chemistry between Castiel and Hannah? Or between Cas and Meg? That was much more tham between Cas and Dean. Is this nothing because nobody want to see it?
No one on the show had more chemistry than Cas and Dean. That is the reason Cas was kept on as a character. The relationship between Cas and Dean was pivotal to so many episodes.
