I'm surprised she even wanted to come back so much considering there was a strong possibility that they could've forced her to become a handmaid when there was literal proof that she could conceive.
I think she believes she's above the laws of Gilead even though she helped create them and knows them so well because of that I think she believes she's still got some kind of power there.
Also after watching the latest episode again I think she's absolutely terrified of June lmao she would rather deal with Gilead then what June will do to her lol

She is reflection of what the women in the ruling class see themselves as. To her she could never become a handmaid because she isn't like the dirty women like June she is pure and because of that she thinks she is untouchable
I didn't know what she expected here honestly. Even in Season 3 she was told by her mother that she had no place in Gilead without Fred when her marriage was in crisis.
That's a really important scene and it's a pity it's not remembered more. Serena's mother would be an interesting character to get to know more, as I wonder what her opinions are on the society her own daughter created.
@@amandadadesky5192 I agree but I feel like with Serena, she is terrified of not being in a position of power. @jonmunoz2772 yes this is why I always enjoyed the tension between Serena and Aunt Lydia, there was a real bubbling animosity between them because each wanted to put the other in their place. Wives see Aunts as irritating old crones, and Aunts see Wives as nothing without their Commanders.
This is actually a Good thing, ousting her from Gilead. Could be worse: Wouldn't it be funny if Serena was forced to be a Handmaid in the very World she helped create?

She deserves Noah to be raised by another family. Maybe that way, she'll still feel that she's a bit of what many handmaids went through because of people like her.
People who hope she becomes a handmaid are completely missing the point. That’s PRECISELY what June was fighting to end, she understands that being a handmaiden is something NOBODY deserves, even Serena. Serena does not deserve this, or it would be the antithesis of what June sought to do.
We don't care. Luke came to Serena asking for help and she refused. I want to see her pay for Esther, Hannah, Eden and Janine. Serena deserves it because she wrote it. Little girls forced to be married to old men who abuse and assault them. Let Serena be a handmaid and suffer. I really want to see it.
She came back for two reasons: 1. its very hard when you get yourself out of a bad place to try and not get back there at first, because despite the fact that now you know its a dumphole its still all you ve known in terms of home for a long time; June does that too. Serena was aware that them turnin her away would be an option but she wanted to try and once that wasn't an option anymore she re routed to plan n°2, making sure to let them know she's walking out of there FREE and is quite ready to destroy them once more and this time forever and 2. her case was extremely unique, she was pregnant but she was a wife, and her husband did it and gilead had no "rules"nor eventual "punishments"for such a situation, as dangerous as it was she was aware they couldn't come up with anything that would "make sense"to their immoral code so she effectively broke the system. Most people don't realize that Serena was aware, the moment she turned herself and Fred to the canadian border and authorities that if she ever came back she wouldn't be welcome but she gave them a picture that they will remember twice over. She didn't create Gilead, she's not a founder, and its about time people stop callin her that; she wrote a book, lots of disgustin despicable men took it and turned it into somethin way worse somethin that not even Serena had dared to imagine. That she broke the system they(those men) created from her book, simple ink on paper , shows that she's pullin the rug off their feet, that a woman, THE WOMAN who wrote that book nonetheless has(by this time yet again, several times) outsmarted them in movin inside that system; they're scared of Serena, that's why throwin her out felt like a better "punishment"to them than letting her back in, sendin her to the colonies or whatever. Plus econopeople have kids on their own they couldn't have used the excuse she had made the kid with Fred either.
She's delusional... she helped tear down a world where she could make an impact and replaced it with a world that gives her no voice.... only to still be wanting a voice in the new voiceless world she created. 😂😂😂.
