  • Everything about my adult life as it relates to Spina Bifida is tied back to my childhood. So much of who I am today is as a result of the way that I was raised and the environment in which I was raised.
I have Spina Bifida, and I grew up on a farm.
Having a disability and growing up on a farm isn't easy, but I can honestly say that it was the BEST place for me to grow up. It contributed to my development as a child and young adult and beyond.
I look back on my childhood with fond memories. Not everything was a bed of roses, but the work that was involved with the farm gave me the opportunity to learn new things, develop problem-solving skills and learn to be independent.

Chase the Journey began as a personal blog of Jonathon Hyjek, to document his own accounts of living life as a person with Spina Bifida who also follows Jesus. I've been fortunate to have had many unique experiences and I love storytelling, so the TH-cam channel seems like the next step in the natural progression. I guess you could call me a "disability blogger" or something like that?
Stay tuned for funny, insightful, random videos that discuss both serious and not very serious topics.
