Rest easy wonderful Terry Hall. Thank you for your openness, vulnerability and of course the legacy of your music. You may be gone from this place, but you will never be forgotten ❤️
When most of us think of Terry hall we tend to remember him as being the lead singer in The Specials or The Fun Boy 3. This little Gem The Colourfield is often overlooked by many of us. RIP Terry Hall. You had a massive impact on my younger life in the 80's, and I still listen to your music today. xx
@@ScottishTeeVee thanks for reminding me that I’m ancient 🤣 thanks for posting. My default search for Terry Hall is the specials. Ska was the first specific genre I realised was a thing & I loved it & after a brief flirt with crass & other punk bands of that style I discovered echo & the Bunnymen which opened the door to all things indie so Terry & Pete together circled me back on myself!
@@Madefromtoffee I meant to ask, did you think it was Pete on drums in this video? It does look a bit like Pete, but it is Simon Wolstencroft on drums. The odd thing about this video is that the drummer was involved with early incantations of The Smiths and the Keyboard player went onto join the Smiths in 1986.
The lyrics of "Pushing up the daisies" are totally different from the bside of "Take" and the album "Virgins and philistines". I loved The Colour Field. And Terry Hall even more. Thanks!
Jeez ive heard the name Colourfield over the year but I had no idea Terry Hall was in it.Greatlyrics on here I be finding more of this band tonight I followed to Fun Boy Three and heard a little of his album with Dave Stewart. R.I.P Terry Hall.Neer forget the night I was Ska'd for life the night the Specials were on SNL.
Cant help comparing him to Paul Weller he was quite happy to leave successful bands this is only a few months after FB3 split even what he did after The Colourfield was still good RIP Terry
I was so sadenned by Terry Hall's departure, yet I am glad to find so much of his stuff and fan's comments. He was a great songwriter, a humble gentleman gifted with such talent, I am sure a great guy to work with. I am glad to find that he had a fan base that reacted to his lost and share all these recordings with his various bands. Forgotened by many but so precious in our lives.
Growing up in Montréal, I've never seen this! Pushing Up The Daisies, for some strange reason, is a song that stayed with me from the moment it came out! Merci pour ce souvenir.
Yes! Funky Si Wolstencroft! Solid rhythm section with him and Karl Shale on bass....Great stuff. Wonder what it would have sounded like if ol El Tel was playing the guitar......?
@@ScottishTeeVee biker? yes him. he didn't mention bikes in his book...just sporty hatchbacks.... have you seen his story walks on his twitter feed? most excellent
Must have thought it was faulty, you notice at 2:06, he goes to his mike, hits it a few times with one finger, then it looks as if he does one word, then turns away and goes the other other mike.

Who is drumming here, please?

Absolutely superb. For me Terry's best work was out of The Specials. FB3, Colourfield, solo work. He was such a great songwriter.

@@ScottishTeeVee loved the smiths too until Moz ruined it by being racist

Pete De Freitas on drums, also sadly missed.
On drums is Simon Wolstencroft who also played with early lineups of the Smiths, The Fall & The Stone Roses

not forgetting, si wolstencroft on drums
That would be this fella, who is on Twitter, drummer, biker, tweeter.. Si Wolstencroft. @simonWolstencr1

@@markdyballuk I may have caused some confusion, he's into cycles the peddle kind, I'm the biker. I did have a little look at this Twitter feed.
@@ScottishTeeVee ha okay. he didnt mention cycling either?! maybe its top secret... all my best and thanks again,
Blimey - just how young was Craig here?
Was thinking the same.... he looks about 16! 😯
😀👍
a wee nod to the doors perhaps
Pushing Up Daises with different lyrics? Interesting.
Was that the Cardigans I hear at 2.01
Terry not like his own mike then?
Must have thought it was faulty, you notice at 2:06, he goes to his mike, hits it a few times with one finger, then it looks as if he does one word, then turns away and goes the other other mike.
@@ScottishTeeVee Probably must be what it was so. Surprised though that no one checked beforehand.
Can he actually play the guitar or is it a fucking prop like bono
What he’s doing is more like what Joe Strummer did. Rhythm and percussion.
He occasionally played guitar in the Fun Boy Three too. Live only as far as I know.
