I have to say this series is a testament to your growth over the years. Your old beginners guides were great and helped me a lot. The amount of information you pack into the new ones is even more impressive. Another great video. Very well done.
As someone new to the game I have to give a big thanks to you and other creators like you who make learning the game fun and keep players well informed. Been watching your videos in particular due to the clarity and depth of your knowledge.
Having to have Journey steps selected and active is a pain. You wind up having to repeat things you have already done. As a result, I kind of ignore the Journey more than I did with the old system. Great video Wak, even though I've played Conan for a while, learned quite a bit. You should make and post a Conan Tutorial playlist and include all these training videos. They would be a great starting place for new players.
Agreed. Having to select the journey step just to advance it is ridiculous. What makes it worse is that most of the rewards for completing them really suck.
I always looked at journeys as 1st time player tutorials, i dont think the devs ment it as a requirement for 100% completion and only linked achievements to it because platforms like xbox forces games to have achievements i was told
Big love for all this! Don't sleep on the mace/shield combo! It staggers fairly well, accumulates Sunder fast and the heavy finisher with the shield knocks down opponents! A mace alone also performs a sweeping attack as a finisher that could knock down several opponents. The knock down and timing that, can be used to make some enemies easier to defeat (Arena Champion, I'm looking at you!). Also, blunt weapons tend to have really high armor penetration so they're very effective against golems, rocknoses and most skeletal things. I should also note that with the hyper-armor changes, I do still see that two handed blunt weapons still have a degree of this, namely on the final heavy finisher. One pattern I've noticed that does well for taking thralls is opening with a quick light attack with the truncheon, then following up with a few heavies. You can almost chain stagger a target like that - stamina permitting. Great tips all around!
I like 1h mace no shield. I roll. I never use bows except for starmetal hunting with explosive arrows. Daggers are ok but you can't use a torch with them and it's a lot of clicking. When I started playing I used a 2h sword. In day time it's a great weapon.
@wak4863 true to an extent. For example, when multiple enemies come at you (carrying treasure) when the all come at you at the same time it's very hard to get an attack in due to side stepping or rolling. Try blocking and see how the kinda bounce off. Then you can get a really good attack in. Don't get me wrong, side stepping and rolling does work. My point is blocking definitely creates a window to attack properly. You can definitely see it in your video as well.
@@marcush5453 100% agree. There are many shield / one handed weapon very effective metas. With a shield you can easily tame big thralls at low lvl, then when the thrall is tamed you will tank ennemies for him. In small places the shield will save your life when facing groups. ( donjons / interiors)
Boo that stinks that you have to change the objective goal thing each and every time that or miss out on progress. But great video thinking of playing Conan

Love that the videos are short and to the point. Hope to see the Playlist expanded soon

Really nice video wak! From a veteran. Have learned so much from you over these years.
my first corrupted crocodile on my first playthrough, spawning right next to my starter base, was so scary. good times.
Sounds like good times.
Two cimmerian berserker thralls at level 20 is all that you need.

Surprised you didn’t mention right clicking on items to use or refill in your inventory like food and water skins or scrolls/notes
Apart from green shalebacks, r there other mobs that don't attack you unless attacked first?
yeee
what does barber do?
You are incorrect on blocking. It absolutely does create an window of opportunity to attack.
You can create the same length window of opportunity by attacking and staggering an enemy. There is little to no window that blocking creates.

@wak4863 also, the enemy do pause after most block attacks. Please review it. I am not the only one that see it.
