i have a question. i have an idea for a course in a hobby niche. but theire is not alot of search volume. the topic is on video games, basically shooters. theire are some video's on it that have at max 200.000 vieuws but most dont even reach 12k. how do i know if this topic can work for a course. the topic is gyro aming and how to use it on shooters on pc. the specific topic is on how to set it up using steam (video game store with controller remapper). is theire a way to test if people are willing to pay for a course on how to set it up? like making a salespage (without making the course), and then run a few ads to check if that will convert? because i have no audience, and running paid ads might be the fastest way to test for conversion. Hope you can answer my questions
I was fortunate to be part of the test group for Graham's TH-cam INCOME ACCELERATOR COURSE, and it was a fantastic experience. His energy is inexhaustible, and his personality is exactly what you see on the podcast. The finished product is packed with EXCELLENT INSIGHTS & CONTENT, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to SUCCEED in the online industry. Keep on doing what you do so well Graham, you rock!!!
Great timing Graham. I have my Kajabi pages set up and I know my course content very well. (How to Sell when you Hate to Sell) ~ aimed at the new entrepreneur that recognizes that they will need to sell even though they are uncomfortable with the idea I can now do a soft launch like this with my small email list. Thanks for the guidance and encouragement. I'm ready for it. No more excuses. Wish me luck!
Thanks again, Graham. You just got me massively unstuck! Whew - my questions were answered. I don't have a problem with what; I have a problem with HOW!
I don't pre-sell as I find (as a procrastinating perfectionist with loads of dog knowledge but struggling with the tech knowledge!) it unbelievably stressful to have that kind of pressure. However, I do sometimes do workshops either in person that I (with their permission) film including filming their dogs, or online to make sure I'm explaining things in a way they 'get'.
Graham! This video was EXACTLY what I needed. I'm planning to launch my first course and I'm totally unsure if I'm offering what people want and need. Thank you for your wise insights!
Thanks, Graham! Glad your back! I missed listening to the podcast and listening again on YT! I'll be launching another product in the fall and will use this as an outline, but since I found you a year and a half ago and implemented what I've learned I've generated over $14K, so grateful 🙏
Great video, Graham. I was liking your book curation series, but I was wondering if you went completely into the personal development theme. It’s nice to see this kind of content on entrepreneurship-online business-course creation again. This video is gold!
Great information. I might be skeptical about pre-selling my online courses, but this video has opened my mind to great concepts. I also like live sessions and wish I had more time to that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Hi, I'm about to purchase Kajabi through your link. --- I will be getting your free items as a bonus. --- I also Bought the $97 course AND the $297 course you just offered through email. What I need, because of info overload, is a recommended process as to how to proceed, specifically which items to start with and which ones come after that, in order. Hope that was clear - lol. PS: I'm a brother in the LORD, have been saved for 46 years now, love that you get to mention HIM from time to time : )
This is so good. I will listen to this again to check my roadmap based on this to make sure I have it ready without fail and launch. Thank you for your email to get me here!
Wow - Solid content. I like your straight forward approach - you can tell you've done all of this more than a time or two. - Thanks! 🤟 (subscribed from two of my accounts 😉)
Love this video, Graham! Enjoyed your books series but I was wondering if you stepped out course creation/ online business content and into exclusively personal development. Great to see you doing a video like this again. I joined 6FC and purchased Automatic Income Academy and I think this video is an excellent summary of the program. Keep up the great work. Always love hearing your insights! One of my top YT channels.
Note that you must have an audience before offering it for sale! Graham prob has hundreds of thousands on his list so his numbers aren't realistic for everyone.
Just to add to your comment - if anyone has followed him and watched his videos - he is very clear and honest about the process and how to build the process for each individual.
Great content! Just a question: you said you took out 3 topics of the youtube course. So is the first live teaching / feedback product like a 10-20% part of the entire course you’re aiming to sell eventually? I understand it like you’re offering a few masterclasses to gauge interest before setting up the entire course. Is that correct?
I want to join Kajabi but I'm not sure who to sign up with, You or Lane Sebring. I was watching Lane last year but decided to go a different direction, now I wish to do Kajabi. Lane was offering a complete, step by step, detailed course in January. He said it would be coming out soon but he has not followed up, so I'm looking at all you offer and leaning toward you, since you follow though with your products, etc., etc. I hope you're products are not too expensive for me.
This is what I plan to do as I’m starting from groined zero. Start creating TH-cam content around the 2-3 juicy modules and give out a free lead magnet 🧲. Repurpose same videos into newsletter content and short forms. Alternatively, or in parallel, create a waitlist landing page with the 2-3 juicy modules.
@@GrahamCochrane I went to that mini training and wasn't ready for the course at the time but have been "youtubing" for 6 months now after reading your book and have been waiting for that one to come back around. Feel I'm ready to learn more.
Great videos! But i think the issue with presell is number of audience/ email list. I am about to launch my first paid course which will be super valuable, but I am worried that I have not grown enough audience yet. Total 78 email subs since Jan when I start my youtube channel. So the qs is, how many email subscribers is reasonable to start doing your above tactics?
With that said, you can always have something to sell in your funnel, maybe an affiliate, a short course, or even a small community like on Patreon. I only have 35 in my list but have a Patreon and made one sale. Nothing to brag about but I wouldn't have made any sales if I didn't have something to sell.
@danh411 wow this is so helpful, thank you!!! I am super confident I can grow email list very quickly actually because I know and can create the best lead magnet, so If that is the case I will work on this!
Hey Graham, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
Ive been doing online marketing for 18 years. These "how to make money on x, y or z" clowns just come and go. One thing in common to all of them: not one would make it if they had to sell anything that is not a how to make money. Dont fall fot this b.s. Its so much tougher to sell anything not related to the most basic and highly converting human emotion related to make $.
Actually, Graham points out that his first money-making courses were not "how to make money on youtube", but rather courses about how to record and mix music, and how to use a certain software package. So there is definitely money to be made in many different genres.
The elephant in the room is how to build that email list you can make your offers to and use as a mirror to validate your product. That's the part I'm struggling with right now. Writing content in Substack to get an audience, trying to get Twitter followers (to subscribe to my newsletter), and thinking about starting a TH-cam channel. Been at it for a year now, and the results are still lacking. Any advice on how to build an audience faster?
I started my TH-cam channel about 6 months ago, one piece of content a week for evergreen content like Graham often suggests, at about 30 videos now. I have a lead magnet and have 35 people on my email list. I searched for Graham Cochrane to see if I could find a video where he talks about how long it takes to build an email list and I found an interview where someone asked him that very question and he said that it takes 2 to 3 years. He was even asked what would you say to someone who's been at it 6 months, and Graham said that's not enough time. I do think you need to be on TH-cam. To me, social media is so temporary. I put tons of stuff on Tiktok, X, and Instagram and a few others, but they get traction for a few hours and then plummet. But TH-cam, even shorts (which I wouldn't recommend over long form vids) build more and more over time. After 6 months, my shorts channel has gotten 108,504 in the last 28 days and my main channel with my long form videos has gotten 1,542 in the past 28 days. You can see that shorts, which works like tiktok and other social media, gets way more views, but it doesn't convert like my long form channel does. But the long form channel is growing. It almost doubles every month. I started with 0 and now have 57 subscribers. To me socials are just brand awareness and backend. But the long form videos are evergreen, like Graham says, and you keep putting them up and it's like planting seeds. Sorry for the unsolicited advice; I'm obviously not a success or anything, but I just wanted to share what I'm experiencing and maybe it'll help.

I'm studying this very deeply Graham, and I just got your book "How to Get Paid for What You Know" which is next in the queue after this video 🤘
Thanks for the support!

Love this stuff brother! Thank you!
Hey Graham. Thanks. Great video. When is the new book coming out?
Hey Graham bit of a strategic question: which do you recommend?
Do you charge people to register/sign-up? Or Do you charge for an all access pass?
I miss you on the Recording Revolution. Do you miss recording your own songs?
Amazing - thank you.
Great info!
Excellent!
