Ah.... Mahler 3. The average performance time is 1 hour and 45 minutes to max.1 hour and 51 minutes approx. This one is only 1 hour and 30 minutes. Yes. sorry, the whole piece was a tiny bit too fast. Don't think Mahler would have approved. Just listen to those kettle drums in the last minute of part 6. Slow down !!! It sounded like they were in a hurry to go home and go to bed.
Normally I would agree. But after having heard tenths of drab long drawn renditions this one seemed particularly refreshing. The tutti single chord at the end was gorgeous
You know, there’s a lot of really good playing going on here. Truly, first rate. Unfortunately, the orchestra is severely hampered by a total lack of understanding of this music on the part of the person attempting to direct it. Highly unfortunate.
Understood. Mahler, even with all of the score markings, leaves it to the conductor, more than anyone, to interpret what he is saying. It's so interesting, because with almost all other composers, the conductor and musicians just have to follow the score. Not with this genius ♥️
I have found this individual to be one of the best conductors . Are you one of those people who likes the tempo drawn out to the absolute slowest and to see the flamboyance of a conductor tossing off on the podium? I sure as hell don’t.
Mahler is very beautiful Sinfonie , trois , D Moll , Saraste W Lehmkuhl WDR Sinfonie Orchester , wonderful ,what a talent

One hour and fifty minutes? I doubt there has ever been a recording that long.. If there is it would be slowest molasses.

Die Noten waren alle richtig, aber ich glaube der Dirigent und die Musiker haben die Musik nicht ganz verstanden..
