If the Route 66 sign on the cafe is anything to go by, there's 4 options that could kind of fit the terrain: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and (Southeast) Kansas. I could be reading too much into things on the picture with the river but that looks like a grain barge- those are used on the Mississippi River and could narrow it down to Missouri or Illinois.
It's not Oklahoma, south eastern Oklahoma doesn't have deep enough soil to grow crops so it's mostly cattle, all the crops in Oklahoma are on the west side which is somewhat arid and is very flat so I don't think it's Oklahoma, Illinois makes since but it definitely takes inspiration from southern states, mostly central Tennessee, southern Missouri, and Louisiana. Kansas is flat just like Oklahoma, (excluding southeast Oklahoma which has mountains) so it's not Kansas, I believe the route 66 sign is there for decoration a doesn't inspire the geography.
I noticed on the pic of the boats that there was a river barge in view. The large silo in the background had an auger pipe over the river as to load the barge. 🤔 As i live fairly close to the Mississippi river it looked very familiar to me. Would be cool if we could use the barge like we do trains. 😎 Thanks for the review, FSG!
First pic is an old fashion grain elevator. Used for temp storage to load onto trains. Mostly phased out for newer style silos by the late 90's (at least here in Canada) I'm sure there was the odd one in service longer, but I have not even seen one recently. Mostly have been demolished. I remember running around them as a kid throwing grain that leaked out at my brothers lol.
It's a pity they didn't implement better Ambient Occlusion. The vegetation (mostly bushes) still looks flat. The current shading does not add depth to the vegetation (no shaded areas inside the vegetation model). You will still need to use reshade.
Respectfully, I really love the less contrasty look of the game, it really does finally look like a refined and dialed in FS19- I never bought FS22 because it looked to plastic, but this finally brings that FS17 “grunge” again 😅😅😅
That's a grain elevator for loading trains. And its in exactly the condition that 80% of the (still in service) grain elevators are here in Manitoba. Except ours usually have big scorched areas from fires that they've barely survived as well.
I hope the ground deformation is like dynamic ground but not dynamic ground Cattle and crops is a good example, watch how tractor leaves a rut when driving over the soil etc
Nah I think all the ground deformation is gonna be like some combination of mods currently in FS22, like the mud mod, slip destroys fields, dirt particles and some on the fly texture change similar to the potato ridges etc. to give the illusion of ground deformation but when you press F4 for wire grid view the ground will still be just flat.
Given that they're adding rice I'd say Arkansas is a pretty good candidate for where the map is located. Rice is big in Arkansas and California. Arkansas is an interesting state topographically. On one hand, you've got a lot of rolling Hills leading into the Ozarks and then on the other on the Eastern side of the state you've got the Mississippi River flood plane which is extremely fertile and flat as a board.
2:35 that might just be the border of the map instead of terrain. Also I wouldn't be so worried about the sky, most players don't stare up there anyways 😅
If I understood correctly you are going to farm con right, would it be possible to ask if it will be made any Norwegian maps? Norway is focused internationally to be a part of working and helping out in terms of crops and storage in these times with wars etc.. At least that is what they are saying here in Norway
I have a feeling this is indeed a map based off of a state in the southern US, and my guess is the Missouri/Arkansas border...an area where rice is grown...and along the Mississippi River, hence the barges. Wet rice is grown here in the states, so I do indeed think that rice farming is just not going to be limited to the Asian map.
It's a shame that I only changed the number from 22 to 25, more of the same, just compare the images with the 22. If it weren't for the mods, this game would already be history.
We can clearly see some graphical improvements. I dont understand those people who are upset that is isn't UE5 graphics etc. and i could swear those would be the First people who are angry on giants that the game runs on their PC bad.
I hope there gameplay improves. I'm playing the game based on realism in operating a farm. If I want to see real trees and grass I'll go outside. Fs19 seasons mod was the best and I hope it's implemented in it.
It definitely looks nicer than FS22. The softness of the lighting is far better. I'm holding off passing more judgement until we see and hear a lot more. I remember FS22 did look better at launch than the first screen shots. I really want to see better weather in FS25 though. I want to see proper variety to the clouds, and certainly no more raining out of a mostly blue sky. I also agree with others that there is a slight FS17 vibe to it, which is a good thing.
I'm hoping they include the NEXAT modular harvester / seeder / sprayer and slurry sprayer that is almost at production stage to the game. Almonds and tree nuts would be a welcome addition that would include a load of specialized machinery to harvest the nuts ie shakers, nut harvesters, runner trucks, sweepers and elevators (have a vested interest as I work on an almond orchard in NSW Australia)
What about the block system? Are we going to get more blocks to enable us to get more items for the maps? Maybe get rid of the block system altogether?

I am still really impressed by the improvements over fs22 but it feels Giants have focused so much on certain aspects that they unintentionally neglected others.
If the crops are still 2d, I aint buying it :(
Yeah, sorry. Beauty fades, my friend. Show me some gameplay footage, and not this CGI stuff, before I start to get excited
These are in game shots of the map
@@TheFarmSimGuy I might go for a stretch, highly processed ingame screenshots, like always. They are press kits, they must look pretty.
We are really exited about simple fog and godrays in 2024?
@@IllGib We'll just have to wait and see, to early to make too many judgement calls
@@TheFarmSimGuy We are already making thou, based on a bunch of screenshots.
But we are pretty well weary of what they showed and what gave in previous title to thinking of goin' too far by assuming what most people are criticizing.
It's not a new ip from a new indie dev, it's the 17th game in the serie, we should expect much more than some pretty 15 years old vfx and a couple of crops to blown 50€ for what should have be at best a 30€ dlc.
Let's be real.
I'm still not impressed. If they don't have land that can be dug out like on some mining mod maps in FS22 then I won't be buying it this time. I played 1000 hours of FS15 but barely 100 hours of FS17, 19 and 22.
Give us the trailer graphics in game because anything less is extremely disappointing and borderline false advertisement. Not to be that guy. But it’s just too hard when the images look flat
Hardly false advertising, have you ever seen a world of warcraft trailer v's in game shots?
This game is going to be a copy of fs22. No changes in vehicle quality, physics, and ground physics. Even if they teased it in the trailer
OK
