With the release of the blog post (25th June 2024), we have a huge amount of information, stunning visuals and cinematic trailer. As the dust gradually settles, how does it all sit with Console players?
I have my opinions and I’ve heard some of yours already. I, by no means speak for all console players, but want to share some thoughts and potentially difficult to hear truths.

I apologise if I have offended anyone. It was not my intention. I understand that it is a difficult time for people and that finances are stretched thin. Unfortunately, for the game to continue to evolve, difficult decisions were obviously made. This is not me 'towing the GIANTS line' it is indeed a fact. Again I'm sorry if you have taken offence at anything I said.
Honestly, I don't think you have to apologize, it's nothing but a fact. We live in expensive times. But in all fairness, I think that gaints is fairly cheap compared to other game makers. Yes it's more expensive. But still cheaper on average compared to other new releases.
I’m happy to hear it said, the ps4 and Xbox are a decade old, that’s ancient history in technology. We can’t let decade old tech hold the game back, otherwise there’s no point to a new one.
Agreed but other games still havent dumped old gen so why should farm sim. Unless the graphics are 10x better im not just buying a new gen for 1 game @pipedreamin
You haven't offended any body. Why wont new games come to PS2 anymore? It's just the software that is evolving. Look at the reflections in the tractor bodywork for example, the reflections of the trees in the river, the ground deformation, improved sunlight rays and fog.. needs current gen consoles and that's that
I won't be getting fs25 in nov why? Because giants have a habit of rushing it out so for the first 2-4 months it's going to be bug hunting and sorting out issues and by august - September 2025 they'll be a few mods some dlcs and most of bugs should be sorted fingers crossed that's more than enough time to put some money away for a ps5 or Xbox
I’ll have to save up for a new console but in my opinion, if we want bigger and better games with a ton of new items and enhanced graphics, it’s just what we have to do. Love the channel and comments.

Oh well it’s their loss because they’re going to lose a lot of players because a lot of people can’t afford a new consul just because they want to push it PlayStation four has only been out for five years, that’s really not that long. I guess another five years will have a PlayStation six and have to get one of those to play the game as well. You don’t see it because you’re blind, but it is a big money they could’ve made this DLC for farming simulator 22 everybody hollers about the new tractors. It looks just like tractors. We already have. I’m not worried about the stupid shit. It’s a big ass money wreck, and you guys are feeding into it.

@@rossieharman2560 Are you serious or trolling? Five years in computer hardware is ages. Compare 1995 vs 2000 on PC gaming... OMG. You just need to wake up. I think Giants made a huge mistake even supporting PS4 for FS22, that really held the sales back a lot. Imagine all the millions of people that actually enjoy contemporary and modern games, and not just touched up last gen (or older) games.

PS4 came out 11 years ago. They've supported it through FS15, 17, 19, and 22. That's FOUR games of a console's life. That's really reasonable. Much more reasonable than other developers.
It's not a big-ass money wreck. You're just being bitter. Technology improves. Games improve. It's the way of life. Why aren't you complaining that you can't play FS22 on your PS3, if that's how you feel?
It's been three years since we had a game. They have a new engine. New mechanics. New crop types. New machinery. New systems. New everything. You can't release that as a DLC.

However I was a bit shocked, that YOU are still a Bronze Partner. But I must admit, that I feel a little bit better now, knowing to be in very good company with you as a bronze partner. I'm working hard to become a silver partner, but no chance til now. Maybe it has a little bit to do with the fact, that I have a lot of console players in my community, because I make content without many script mods and my mods are made for consoles, even if I'm a pc player myself.
I feel with you in this bronze partner thing and I wish you good luck to become a silver partner soon, and I thank you a lot, because it brightened my day, knowing to have such a wonderful company, and that I'm not alone with this problem.

I think farming simulator 22 suffered because it needed to be on old generation consoles. My biggest problem with fs22 on ps4 was it didn't play vary well when you got close to slot limit. Hopefully their updated engine will help things. But i won't be buying a ps5 until I see how well fs25 runs on it. Keep up the good work Mrsealyp.
Mr Sealy P.. As a long time PC Gamer I really do feel for you Console Types. I feel that we, the PC users are getting the much better deal when it comes to FS. Yes we have to live with the Console style interface, and would much rather have a UI where you could, say, have type in search function in the Shop/ Mod selection .. BUT I do recognise that large segment of OUR Community uses a Controller and not keyboard /mouse and I say THANK GOD you are all out there. Not everyone can afford a £3.5k gaming rig, let alone £300 for a console. That is just the way life is... but we can all play the game we love together on Cross Play servers which is, well, Fantastic.. just fantastic.
I just feel that Giants should recognise their Whole customer base and not favour one side (or the other). What I’m trying to say is that you are Spot on with every comment in this video and well done for mentioning the Elephant in the room.
Also a BIG Thank you sharing your Partner code, I will be using it as a thank-you for your virtual company over the last few years.
BTW.. I’ve only got 3k+ hours in FS22 (4.5K in FS19) and my vision of a perfect day, is manually driving up and down a virtual field listening to your ramblings while I do...
@@Butch_777 right if they’re going to make a game that’s cross platform let everybody have a piece of the pie make all the mods cross platform. Don’t just one side it and do favors like you were saying if they’re going to make a game for all platforms it needs to be fair not one sided but hell that’s the way this whole world is turning out to be now I think it’s really wrong software is doing their supporters because a lot of their supporters can’t afford a new gaming system. Every time one comes out.
It’s a fundamental difference between gaming on PC and console that PC’s have more flexibility. One shouldn’t hold back the other.
Not only this is happening on fs25 but all games now. We need to move to what i would say is current gen" not new ". New games are being criticised only because they wont move away from old gen as well.

@@rossieharman2560 How is that any different than anything in life? Nobody forces you to buy new TV, smartphone, console, game or anything. I just think people are way too spoiled and entitled. If you want to be cheap and not buy new hardware, fine, then you have tons of great games for whatever generation of gaming hardware you pay for, nobody complained about how bad FS22 was on release date. Or Far Cry. Or most other games. Just keep playing FS22. Don't make the rest of world stand still just because you are.

I have a PlayStation five I could get farming simulator 25 but I’m not because I’m not going to leave out my friends that I play the game with because they can’t afford a new PlayStation and it’s really upsetting not only or people forced to go out and buy a new console if they want to play the game but they’re also going to have to find new friends. If not that’s not right it’s not fair farming simulator 22 came out on PlayStation four then PlayStation five came out, they hurried up and re-created farm simulator 22 for PlayStation five and now they’re going to do totally opposite. Oh well I’m over it. I’m not worried about this stupid crap anymore. I’m sure people are going to see the comments and talk shit. I don’t care like I said I’m not supporting it, unless they bring something later on really really amazing but as of now I’m happy for simulator 22
Mrsealyp I have to agree with you that console 's should be able to get collectors additions of some Description.
I think there would be an issue with the usb device not working with consoles which would lead to complaints.
@@djassassin19 Yeah but you could iclude something else in the console collectors editions. It wouldn't be as good but still allows a collectors edition.
I completely agree that collector's edition should be for ALL the pc and consoles the game will be available on! Maybe if we flood Giants forum with requests for collector's edition? There are a lot of us console players, numbers should help persuade them?
This version should have course play, the AI workers are still hopeless on console

The thing about old PlayStation vs new is true with PC as well. They don’t worry if old computers can handle the new stuff. I had to save up a couple of years to buy a new computer to play FS22. I’ve only been able to play the game for the past six months because of that.
And funnily I always thought there were more games for console because that’s what I see in the stores.
When you said the older consoles holding the game back, you are exactly right. I bought my PS5 TO PLAY FS22 only to find out it was being compromised to be able to run on the older gen consoles. Just because a minority cant afford newer consoles, why do the majority have to be held back? If this game was only available for PS6, then damn right i'd be buying the new console,not because i like spending money, but i like having the best experience that i can get.
Change is necessary at times for anything to flourish and Farm Sim is no different, it is unfortunate that FS25 won't be released on the old gen consoles but at this point that was the change that needed to happen for the game to advance and improve. Even as a PC player one of my first thoughts, knowing the old gen consoles are out, was "will I need to upgrade my PC to play this?" and I had to find the specs to be sure. Such is life.
As far as the Collector's Edition goes, I agree 100% that there should be a console option! I suspect one reason their isn't is because the USB devices they offer likely won't work on consoles and I do think it would be unfair to offer a console package that isn't fully compatible.. however, and I do like a good "however", I think there should be a way for GIANTS / physical vendors to offer customers an option when buying the CE of swapping the game disc from PC to console under the proviso that the USB device may not work on console (no takesy backsies), with a way to acquire the digital content. It shouldn't be that difficult in this day and age, something like a code you get at purchase (on the receipt or something) to input into the Playstation or XBox store to get the extra CE content. Boom, done, problem solved 😁.
I'm sure I had a few other things to say but at this point my train of thought has left the station, taken the wrong line and ended up in a disused siding somewhere in the woods so I'll stop there.
10 years since ps4 came out , the changes in technology since then is immense ! Can't wait for next gen fs25 !

Thanks for the video, Mr S! 😎 Well done as usual. PC players experience the same issues with "updated" equipment. Look at how many different versions of Windows there are! Eventually the new games don't work on older versions. You have to upgrade. Newer versions take up more space and need more power to run, so you have to upgrade your PC. It's the same world, my friend. I ONLY use my PC for gaming. It cost me $2200.00. What's the difference?🤔 That's just my perspective. Thanks my friend! Very true buddy. I started on Xbox One, then upgraded to a 1800€ pc and just built a 5000€ pc. That’s what I wanted to have the best experience. The same goes with old and current gen.
100%! I think everyone that posts comments to this video should read this first. Buying a decent gaming is PC is like buying "last gen" consoles for 15-20 years in terms of money spent. However, on PC you can't stay with 5 year old hardware and still play modern games, it just don't happen. So you are "forced" by "the evil PC makers/OS developers/game developers" to upgrade every 2-3 years. And then we are not talking about something cheap like $500 for a console, it could be €900 just for the GPU alone.

A current gen console lines up with a mid range PC just fine, it's how we can play games like ArmA on console now.
You can be upset about it all you want but console is catching up to PC at a faster pace than ever before. Nobody is gonna gobble your knob for buying a PC so give it a rest.

Happy Birthday SealyEG! We share the same birthday! You are on the top of my list of partners because as like you I am strictly a console player. I have my own opinions about what I wanted to see for fellow console only players for the next farming simulator when we had grumblings of the next installment. The older gen consoles going out to pastures is not a huge deal. Unfortunately, this is going to happen with many titles moving forward. My biggest disappointment from what we have heard is no 4x maps on consoles. In the past we were told the old gens were restricting the map sizes. The tune has now changed and we are not getting 4x maps no matter what. I am excited for the new release, but still disappointed that we will not see 4x maps.
I like many are happy they are focusing on current Gen Consoles. I see a lot of games coming out and still playable on last Gen, I’m always surprised and a bit disappointed because as you said it holds the current Gen Consoles back and we are 4-5 years in with not much time left! It’s a bit of a joke tbh.

I do feel for those stuck on old-gen consoles. I even feel for those stuck on current-gen consoles and old PCs. It is VERY expensive these days to build a decent gaming PC...and even more insane if you want a high-end gaming PC. That being said, it is all about personal priorities. Personally, it is a high priority for me to have a good gaming PC because that is what I love to do. To be honest, I know for a fact that this would not be one of my favorite games of all-time if I wasn't enjoying it on a high-end gaming system and with several hundred of my favorite PC only mods. 🤠
I think its a good thing it's only for new gen consoles. As you said, they hold back graphics and what not. All games do it and there's no reason fs should not. No point of the new gen consoles if you don't get the benefits
So far I'm very happy. The trailer showed a few things I've wanted for years in the game. I'm just hoping we get a grazing feature with proper fields, realistic mud and 3D fruit trees now. Will also be interesting to see if it will be VRR compatible.
Good about time it moved away from old Gen consoles and started concentrating on Next Gen!!
That was a great video, I think you explained the issues/complaints people may have and if they are STILL upset there is no changing their minds, great video!
I guess a big change would be dynamic ground, but seeing in the pics that the tractors tyres don't even leave marks on the field was kind of disappointing. I'd have to upgrade since I play on the old Xbox, but for now I'll wait for some in-game videos to see if it's really worth it.
Happy Birthday SealyG!! Thank you for the great video. I think that consoles should get the collector's edition. There are a lot of console players out there. That's money left on the table. We all should be saving at least $25 every time you get paid in case of emergencies. I still have every PS and Xbox that has come out.

thank god they are getting rid of old gen.. which mean they can focus on making the game alot better when it comes to graphic and performance..people need to stop complaining and realize its time to move on.. how hold is the last gen consoles? .. alot of games are going to current gen only rightfully so. people time to start upgrading your console stop complaining go work hard for it. and if you cant afford guess what? its not the developers fault.. its yours...its life move on... that being said im sooo excited for FS25..

Last gen is around 10 years old and current gen is already around 4ish. Old gen will always hinder progress. Doesn’t matter if you were playing a ps3 to ps4 game. It happens. Until you get on PC and aren’t locked by what a manufacture limits are it is what it is.
SAME the difference between the xbox one and series s and x was insane on 22. It went from being concerned about how many vehicles I could have to basicly not having to worrie about the limit on the new gen, I personally say this is best option don't get me wrong it sucks but there was just a huge diff between the 2 gens and it removes alot of the restrictions 22 had on last gen

As a PC player I had to upgrade my laptop to play 22. Spending money to keep up with the technology of the new games is something we all have to do :)
Becoming a pc player on this game opened up a whole new world. It's like a totally different, more immersive game. I actually bought my gaming pc to solely play fs22. Best decision I have ever made

Microsoft allows 3rd party scripts. Sony doesn't. And because both Xbox and PS share the same modhub, Xbox can't get a lot of the fancy mods PC can. Really wish they'd make a seperate hub for Xbox. And i know this is the case because of Skyrim, which has a seperate modhub for Xbox and has mods using 3rd party scripts and other outside assets.
Good one Mr Sealyp, old gen is history, glad that giants are following other games that are only new gen. Looking forward to the new fs25, and I will eventually purchase it, deep down tho, something tells me it won’t be much of a change, only time will tell.
Been playing FS on console for years, while I dislike the higher price, lack of editions etc. I still manage to enjoy the game. Great video and an interesting subject!
One thing I am annoyed about is how Giants locked the Saitek heavy equipment control panel for FS22 on PS5 though lol
Giants didn't do that, it was done by Sony.

@chrishoward407 indeed, I wanted to buy the fs steering wheel and side panel. Til I saw that most ps5 players couldn't use it anymore. But in al fairness it was never supposed to be for console anyway. On ps4 we where lucky to be able to use it. And unfortunately Sony Sai hell no on ps5 and blocked the ports to be able to use it.
you have to understand fs 13 and 15 was on xbox 360 once whe got fs 17 we had to get an xbox one then 17 to 19 to 22 was great but if you wanted to get the refelivive becons you had to get a ps5 or an xbox series x so it makes sense for fs 25 to now be on only xbox series s/x and ps5

Fs22 was my first time playing any FS games and absolutely loved it, so I'm looking forward to fs25. I'm on Xbox and can't afford to go to pc, yes I'd like some of the things from pc on console. But providing fs25 is a step up from fs22 I'll be more than happy, and a massive thank you to Mrsealyp for sticking with console and all the reviews of mods and maps

Finally got to listen to youe thoughts on the new version of FS25.
A couple of points I want to express in my own opinion or point of view.
Point 1 straight up is best decision ditching the old gen for FS25 as it would just hold the overall potential of it just like it does on FS22. I had the same debacle with SCS with ATS & ETS 2 for years because they were too afraid of dropping support for old pc users which was holding the game back.
Point 2 Regarding the collectors edition as a PS5 FS player myself don't really see the need for it. Infact it wouldn't be suprised if digital copies surpass hard copies because of what the rona created getting peoples mindsets of buying online. I know since then i've have purchased every game online instead of in store because of the convenience its brings.
Last point is how you mentioned GPS and follow me. From a console players perspective I hope giants as worked with modders in those fields to implement them to the base game as well as modders that have created mods the get you bogged in the rain,mud and snow. Those there would bring the immersion overall to the next level alone imo. I serious hope giants rework the season/crop rotations to more flexible/immersive in hemisphere seasonal crop planting & harvesting windows as well as being able to plant certain crops in seasonal periods i.e winter and spring wheat etc.

Happy birthday SealyEG. I have been a console gamer since Atari 2600 no sense changing now. Always ready for a new version of PlayStation to come out with all the improvements in gameplay and graphics. GIANTS has always improved on there core game on consoles at least. With each improvement it also allows the mod community a chance to add so much more incredible stuff. This is what makes is so hard for me to switch to a new version the wait for the mod community to catch up. I will be preordering FS 25. Thanks for the talk MrSealyp
Been playing fs since july 2020.Injured my back at work and could no longer work. Found fs15 and bought new ps4.Since then played fs19 and fs22 a total of about 5000 hours, so to play fs25 on a new ps5 is costly but in my case is worth it. My old life of fishing boating even long distance driving is gone,so this fills a void. Love your content keep it up, you help me with my mindset.
for the collectors edition, I originally wanted to get it for FS22 for the Beacon, from day one for Pre- Order it was sold out instantly, I kept checking to no avail and gave up in the end
I will buy the game because I just will but I am not overly excited about the new release. The reason is simply because the modders make this game fun. On my current save I am on a German farm and my whole game is based on that I am starting in the early 90's and working my way to modern day and modern equipment. That's how I get immersed in the game and modders make it possible to have a complete old school linup of well done and well detailed equipment. It will take at least two years for modders to get anywhere close to the amount of great mods that are in the game now. Really in a way we should be thankful to Giants because by allowing mods it potentially puts sales of new versions at risk and I am sure that they are aware of that fact.
FS13 was the first game to come out on consoles. because i had it on ps3. it was just called farming simulator. then the 2nd game to come out was fs15 so fs15 was the 2nd one to come out not the first.. The initial release for Farming Simulator 2013 was on October 26, 2012 A version was released for the PlayStation 3,

It could be a difference in the countries but in the US on PS5 search fs 25. After clicking on the game there's a row that has (price, wish list, ... ) if you click on the three dots that will bring up some more options including year one bundle.
From the PS mobile app a line above the pre-order button it says
"ps5 release date. >" that button will give you an option between standard and Year One. Once again that could be Country dependent but those work over here.
Watched the POD cast and enjoyed the three of you regarding FS 25. Good thoughts
Oh, man. I do think a lot of people need a serious reality check. Most people don't buy a budget car and then complain that it doesn't perform as a super car. The reality is that a console is already from the release date a compromise between performance and price. So any game targeted at "current gen" consoles is basically targeted at yesterday's hardware. A PC is simply better because it is more expensive, there is no "PC is better than console" buck for buck (you get what you pay for). Hence, if a game developer support current gen (PS5 is already on outdated hardware) you severely limit how far you can push the game (a PC game from 2022 is likely more advanced than any game released later this year). Or in other words, if you enjoy FS and if you prioritize other things in life than saving up for the next gen consoles, just keep enjoying FS22 on your current hardware.

I really enjoye watching you because of the way u play. I just hope they make season work like fs19. And I hope the other things they take from the mod people they keep them as good as the modders.
I’m a console gamer too , X box s series but I play on steam, it’s the pc version of the game, but I have the ability of the most pc functions that the console version is missing, it’s much funner in my opinion, I can even play the 4 X maps if i want too .
I just wish we could get Peterbilt-Kenworth. Ford for the tractors and the trucks would be nice as well. As far as a special addition for console it would be nice. I’m like you and buy the pc one even though I don’t have a pc lol
As a PC gamer, I'm very happy about the consoles supported in FS25. I felt like FS22 was held back some with it's console compatibility. It's unfortunate that consoles do get shafted on the collectors edition stuff, I agree.
I'm going to hold up until there's more details shown (maybe even after release) to purchase. What I've seen so far, although very limited, hasn't impressed me much.
Played FS22 on both PS5 and computer, and really there were only a couple of pc mods I missed on console. The lease to own and GPS top the list. Other than that I found that the mods and maps I wanted to use were on both.
I'm gonna pre order next week, I haven't played fs in 6 months and what you talked about with pc is one of the reasons. Not that I'm worried about mods on PC or the collectors edition, but it seems that giants are mainly focused on the pc market, and that's great I get it, but I play so many other games that do exactly what giants want do, which makes for a much better gaming. Experience. Saying that this may be my last a t time to buy fs, I see no reason to continue when I can play bigger maps, more interactive games than fs. Great job Mr SP.👍👍👍

Giants said at release of fs 22 that this would probably the last on ps4 and xbone. Personally im looking forward to new game roll on november

Let’s hope that all the problems /issues highlighted here by mr sealyp firstly get sorted out and are because the focus from giant is on releasing a fully working game unlike fs22 been playing like mr sealyp since fs15 and onwards and have to say I haven’t really liked fs22 but love the game and will be ordering fs25 and hoping it comes with less issues than fs22 and is more playable with out spending hour and hours eating for crops to grow and production to do their thing
For me this game isn't worth the upgrade. And FS 22 is good enough for me. The only thing I'm gonna miss are new maps probably. But on the other hand, I still play Lone Oak on FS19 sometimes. It's not the end of the world. 😅
Is the maps really the reason why we upgrade? To me, modders are they ones creating the content I want to play (apart from some basegame machines ofc). Giants is providing the game engine for the modders.
I really hope they add more animals in the pen more then 10 being visible at a time for the console. Some how you always had more always wondered how you did that!😅

I have always been a console gamer primarily, i have played to date over 2000hrs of FS22 on ps4. My thing is i don’t play any other game except FS, so to buy a ps5 seems stupid just for one game 😂. I have ordered the collectors edition from amazon (literally as the trailer dropped) it sold out within an hour or two on amazon uk 😮 thing demand has outstripped supply! Hopefully its not mostly scalpers though
As a PC player. Anyone still clinging to their 11 year old consoles is just kidding themselves. You gotta pay to play. I've upgraded my pc several times in the last 10 years.
I'm super excited to hear that old gen is dropped. Console will still hold the game back as is. I'm just glad it will be on current gen only.
Heck, I've got a 3080 graphics card and I'm not 100% sure it will run fs25 at max. In fact I bet it won't. Its just the gaming industry, always moving forward. FS25 to the moon! Can't wait.

I agree with you. It's completely bull crap that they don't have a console collectors edition. It feels like giants hate their console players. I don't think they realize that if they make console collector's editions, they will make more money. People will buy the console collector's editions.

Not a console player (PC Master Race member) BUT I'm sure GIANTS is focusing on console and the newest generation at that. They won't ever allow scripting but I hope they start implementing console safe versions of the most popular mods. Honestly they should have integrated CoursePlay and maybe Autodrive (or just make better AI)
Honestly with the cost of consoles im suprised so many people play games like fs on them, when the next gen consoles released you could get a lower end pc for cheaper and then your out of the console cycle that goes on every 7ish years. A couple upgrades on your current pc and your good to go, plus the freedom of mods and 3rd party mods makes the game so much more enjoyable. Mods like courseplay and the option to play on 4x maps like UMRV blow giants out of the water. I feel like consoles in general hold this game back with the restrictions they have.
We have only had a slight peep at the footage giants have put out for fs 25
And we have people complaining about what's in and what's not just like it was when 22 was about to come out I have pre ordered it and have got and played every previous game I also play on pc and for those who are going to gripe about new gen only and will be able to play on xbox one ps4 get over it there will come a time when we will not even get a disc version gripe over and I can't wait to jump in and play on realise
At least you can still play FS22 on the older console. I have thrown/given away so many games in the past when upgrading in my console days.
Small correction, FS15 wasn't the first Farming Simulator game to be ported to console, as FS2013 was on PS3 and Xbox360
I can see what you mean about the consoles holding back, I'm playing on an Xbox One S, and I can feel the limitations, especially like when I have a lot of logs in a place with graphical stuttering, or loading sometimes crashing when I have a lot of mods installed, and that's even though I have the internal drive swapped out for an SSD.
Me specifically, I don't know if I'm going to get into FS25 or not, because my problem is so many mods come out, so many great new maps, that you "start over" very often with a new map because it really takes your eye, so I never really get to an "end game" on any map, and I was thinking about it the other day actually, that the last time I really got the most out of a Farming Simulator game was FS15, and that's because on console, once you had the DLC map, that was it, no new thing to catch your eye, no new map every two days to take your fancy, so I played it till I felt i had reached an end goal. FS17 I played when FS19 was out, so new mods was practically not coing out anymore, so I had my selection and enjoyed it, but I felt the urge to move onto FS19. I like old machinery on small farms, and one thing I've always felt missing on console is trailered combines, and on FS19 we finally got one about a month before FS22 came out, which I already had preordered, so I had that time to enjoy that rare console mod, which again, in FS22 what do we have in that category? As such I never really got to enjoy FS19 as I would have liked to, and I'm feeling that now with FS22, that I'm really starting to get into it how I like it (albeit, still no trailered combines on console), and FS25 is now shining on the horizon. Getting into FS25 would cost me a bit to play, as I would have to get a new console for it, and it will practically be for FS25 only, as I've not had any other game really incentivise me into getting into this new generation, especially given the type of games I play, and I doubt my humble Ryzen 5 5500 laptop qith 16gb RAM can handle FS25 unless I'm playing literally on the worst settings, which I've tried FS19 on it, and it works pretty well, but not top settings and with a couple of limitations.
If I get into FS25, I think it willbe when the first expansion pack comes out, which will be about a year after. This would give me a chance to fully enjoy FS22 with all the mods that will ever come out for it on console, as well as time to think about getting a new console and saving up the money for it, not to mention it won't be the day one game, so there will be a lot to enjoy both DLC and mods for the new version. It will also give me a chance to see how well it runs on Xbox Series S, becauser if FS25 is the only thing I'm really getting into current gen for, if it runs well on the Series S, then it's not worth me spending more on a Series X or a PS5 for the same experience (my TV is only a 26" 1080p so resolution isn't a reason to go into higher spec hardware, and it's not worth me getting a new TV for my timy little studio apartment). I don't have a problem with having an old console and an old library, as I don't sell my old stuff, I like to collect it all, alongside my Atari 2600 and 800XL, or my Commodore 64, NES or Master System, and all the others that came out since.
Bottom line, I can understand Xbox One and PS4 being dropped from support for FS25, as I can feel the limitations already in FS22, and I don't feel bitter at all about it, but I'm going to wait for the time being, enjoy what I have, and then move on. I think Giants is doing the right thing with the move to drop last gen consoles. I just wish they had brought out the expansions for FS Switch Edition which is essencially FS17, as it's a great way to have a nostalgia run on the go, but I wish we had Estancia Lapacho, and the hardware that came with it. Also, waiting a year, you can find some good offers for the game which will lower the cost for the whole lot (console plus game)
Collector's edition... One thing that catches my eye is the 16bit retro edition. I say this because last time Giants did this, it was the C64 edition, which later came out on a C64 collection cartridge for the Evercade, so, Giants seems to have a relarion with Blaze already. So I wonder of this 16bit edition will also appear on the Evercade later on, as they are fun ways to play retro demakes of your favourite game.

Well, dang. I am going to have to choose between FS25 and a new console or a firearm I want to get..... It most certainly was going to happen eventually. I was hoping it was going to be available for PS4, but eventually, I will get it.
I bought Xbox s with the knowledge that down the road Giants would bring a newer version of Farming Simulator. I find that Farming Simulator 22 plays better on the Xbox s then the Xbox one. When Farming Simulator 17 came out I had to buy the Xbox one so I can play the game. It was not available for the Xbox 360 at the time.
Playstation 4 was released in 2013. Almost exactly 11 years ago by the time FS25 releases. Playstation 5 was released in 2020. 4 years ago by the time FS25 release.
It is absolutely necessary to not limit the game by developing for the limitations of an 11 year old system. That's just the harsh reality of developing a detailed game like FS these days. A lot of things that annoy me with the console version of FS22 is probably because the game is limited to last gen consoles limitations. Hopefully that's gonna be improved with FS25 only being released for current gen.
As this will be on current gen consoles only, I hope this means we will finally get 4x maps on the console mudhub. I've been wanting those since I first saw them on FS15 streams. and regarding consoles generations, this is something that always is going to happen because innovation means moving forward.... all gamers know this, all gamers have to accept it, even PC players, the moment we choose this hobby..... I understand that we're going through difficult times but PS4 is on its way out and in a few years the PS5 will too.... when we use our hard earned money to buy our favorite platform to play videogames, nobody is deceiving us by saying that we're purchasing something that will last forever.....
took me almost 5 years to get the money for my PS5 and I intend to enjoy it as much as possible I can before the new gen is released.....

I am a pc player, but it still amazes me why consoles can't have better mods. I think it all comes down to button availability. Hence I have always asked why keyboard and mouse isn't a function with consoles. I use controller on pc but still have to use keyboard for buttons. If giants enabled KBM for consoles, that would open up a lot of things.
I’ve been a console player ever since my original PlayStation and mega drive and now my ps5, but I have just started my first pc build because unfortunately the games and the future of games not just farm sim are slowly being pushed more for pc gaming. I see the mods on pc for fs22 and I need to change to play how I want and unfortunately for me my console gaming is coming to an end.
Nice to see people that see the bigger picture and being realistic about this. The truth is (I have been a "PC" gamer for 30+ years and played on all sorts of console all my life) PC has always been superior when it comes to the most advanced games. Consoles have catched up quite a bit in recent years, but you are still buying mid tier hardware that might compete with a mid tier gaming PC for maybe 1-2 years.

Only thing i hope is that we have more options with animals like with cattle not all cattle farmer do milk produtions some are cattle farmers who sale them for butchering i would like to see a meat processing production in the game ....i know pc has it but id like to have it on console im on next gen xbox so i know its something they could do or hope they do at some point
You will never see that, sadly to say. If FS was truly a farming simulator there would be a lot more emphasis on farming related business, incl productions. E.g. whine, hard cider, meat etc. A lot of farmers (especially today) really mix up their business with doing traditional "farming" (grain, hay etc) as well as refining products (such as cheese, hard cider, jam). However, since Giants make a lot of money putting the game in the hands of everyone, kids included, all those "scary" or in other ways not that kid friendly parts of the game will never be supplied in the base game (or by Giants as mods). It is simply the Pegi 3 that prohibits that. You can't eat or kill animals, you cannot produce alcohol. Period.
Honestly the only way I could afford my Xbox series was by renting to own there was just no other way so I end up paying more then normal but for me that's what I bad to do to upgrade, not saying thats for everyone but that's just a way to upgrade. And when another console comes up I'll weigh my options and probably end up doing the same thing.

Many people forget that fs22 is older then the next gen console, when it released you couldn't even by the new ps5/xbox x. Giants told us very well that fs22 would bridge a gap, wich it did we got it for 2 more years then any previous fs game before. And giants always has a bridge the gap game since it came to console. ( og fs13 on ps3 player here) it realy is mind blowing when you think aboute it fs13 no mods no multi player. Then you got fs15 ( on both ps3 and ps4) and every single version of the fs brought huge game changers to the game in console and rapidly cought up with the pc version, exept a few points.( always a few things they dont do for console version in comparison to the pc version) to be honost i realy look forward to fs25. And feel extremely lucky with how fs22 turned out. It was developed for ps4 and upgraded for ps5. And they extended the playing time for fs22 for nearly 2 extra years.

Fs is one of the few enjoyable and affordable games out there. Hopefully fs25 turns out just as good as fs22.

I am a fan of the series and have been since FS17. It's a must buy for me, but my expectations are not that high at the moment. I hope that they surprise the heck out of me. I play on Xbox Series X. I'm more concerned with what the game limitations will be now that we will be locked in to "Next-Gen" consoles only. Will have a larger console storage limit now? How much more or less of an issue will slot counts be? I usually play on console and buy the PC version once the price goes down later in the game life cycle. On Xbox you can get the base game or the year one bundle. I am ordering the year one bundle. The whole collectors edition thing sucks but that's a Giants issue. They are leaving a lot of money on the table by not doing a console version collectors edition.
I can understand not wanting to shell out money for a brand new system, but in the same token, if you just saved a couple of dollars a week when 22 came out, you could have upgraded.
Oooor like me, I bought a cheap mini pc on Black Friday for $300. It can't play every pc game, but it easily handles FS along with the few other games I play.
It's not controversial. It has been long enough, and the newer gen consoles are easily available now. Had this conversation with my friends not too long ago when someone mentioned it was weird that ps5 just has not had a groundbreaking game yet. Simply pointing out that most games are still being held back for the old generation of consoles. Right now, all you are getting with a ps5 version of a game is a minor graphics upgrade. The hardware is not being pushed to the limits at all.

Have to agree entirely with you mr sealyp and no offence taken here. tbh, this is no different for pc owners too - spec requirements move forward. We all want to play the game we love in the best way possible and there are sacrifices for that. Life moves on.
Games in general gets bigger and more detailed witch make programs bigger that cause prosessers to run harder. With fs 22 already started to give processing graphic problem when it got lot to run with 25 that gonna be even bigger that no surprise that it is not coming out on ps 4
