Eddy shaver could play the hell out of a guitar, he played with soooooo much feeling. Dude was super talented,I’m a player myself,Eddy was a major influence on how I approached my playing. It was a sad day when Eddy was taken from us. R.I.P to the Late great Eddy Shaver and BJS, gone but never forgotten.😢

My big brothers took me to see Billy Joe and Eddy at the Down Home in Johnson City, TN a couple years before Eddy died. My brothers were friends with the owners of the Down Home, and I had the privilege to stand at the bar and have a beer with Billy Joe, and then got to talk to Eddy....it was an intermission between sets I believe. We talked about how his amp was cutting out on him, and he wasn't happy about it. He was playing Duane Allman's Strat that was gifted to him. One song that I'll never forget them playing was "Thunderbird." I'll never forget Eddy's blistering solo in that song. I'm still thankful to my big brothers taking me down there to see them. R.I.P. Eddy and Billy Joe!

Billy Joe and Eddy spend a lot of time traveling the roads of this nation. I saw them in Oct 1999 down at the Flor-Bama, a bar down south at the beach in Alabama. It was a night that will stay with me forever. RIP to all the Shaver family, they are all together now.

I became a fan of Eddie shaver after he passed. Say around 2011? I stumbled upon his genius on youtube. And I'm blown away.

Something so sad about the sound of the highway rushing by as time goes by. Something ironic next to a grave yard.

Billy Joe and Eddy are missed.Checkout "Waco Moon".Make sure you have a box of Kleenex handy. You'll need it.....
I have a showbill from a Billy Joe Shaver/Kinky Friedman Show.Billy wrote "Fuck Kinky" on it.It still brings a smile to my face.
