- Exploring Thailands Islands: Koh Tao and Nangyuan. The coral reef off the coast of Koh Tao is teaming with life, making the island a popular dive and snorkel destination. The two main towns are located on the west side of Koh Tao, Mae Haad and Sairee Beach.
The pier where you arrive and depart from the island is on Mae Haad Beach. The stores and restaurants in Mae Haad open early for catering to divers and early risers. Though it's a small town, there is no shortage of restaurants, open-air eateries and cafes.
Sairee Beach is the center for nightlife on Koh Tao. There is a plethora of restaurants, bars and bungalows. You'll also find several travel agencies, internet hotspots and clothing shops.

I am a bit puzzled after watching your video. You seemed to have misses a number of things about the island that make it very nice. Having spent 10 days on Koh Toa, I found that it much better priced than say, Phi Phi, and you guys think it it a high priced place. It is on pair with Koh Samui. And there are deals to be found. I stayed at Tanote Bay for 1000bht a night in a large room with two king beds. Your video makes no mention of Sairee Beach party central for many visitors. I don't see any mention of the enormous array of choices for scuba diving available on here. There are over SEVENTY dive shops offering great diving for some of the cheapest prices on the planet. ($25-30 per dive w/equipment).
Thank you so much for showing the broken glass problem. My SO is taking anti-coagulants for a heart issue. If stepped on that could cause massive bleeding. Which means one must wear those beach shoes at all times.
Wow I can't believe all those wrasse swimming around and the mass of fish! Swimming there is like swimming in an aquarium!
lOVE LOVE LOVE your video's. I was a scuba diver from 13 on. I look forward to see the next trip and the next. lol . I love to see two people together having so much fun and adventure. I used to travel the world myself when I was married. I loved Hamilton Island off the coast of Australia... A paradise of Island, sea. and mountain. Have fun and be safe.

That whole experience has the same "feel" of when I entered East Berlin (before the wall came down) .... rather ominous and scarey. It was worse when I was traveling via train from Germany to Austria....we had to go thru Czechoslavikia (before the country separated)... we were kicked off the train in the middle of the night in our pajamas. Our suitcases were literally thrown off the train and the train pulled away as the Czech guards laughed at us.

Just for anyone else going to Koh Tao, it is an amazing island. With so many awesome places to visit. This is a very very biased and negative review on the island.

....it's because plastic and aluminum don't break or even smooth down. They stay that way and are dangerous for sealife. Glass breaks and with the constant ocean movement it weathers down the sides. Like beach glass

Nice video. Just wondering...being that you reside in Hawaii, would you ever consider planning a future vacation in maybe a completely different climate and environment? I have been to Hawaii and there are many different beaches and amazing historical sites to explore.
