    I've been binging on your Cakewalk tutorials and am picking up loads of information. I think you're the best teacher on TH-cam. I'll probably revisit these videos multiple times as I put together my projects, but knowing they're available to me gives me a greater sense of confidence in what I'm doing. Thanks a ton Mike.

    Thank you Mike. I checked out several big name daws. Since I am a beginner, I looked for something that was going to be great, however, it needed to be straight forward. And then when I tried Cakewalk by Bandlab. I was hooked. I was concerned with the overpriced programs.. So thankful to the Cakewalk people who give this away for FREE. Astounding. I found Cakewalk. Went on line for some tutorials, and I found you. I shared them to my email. Now I can listen and learn on Cakewalk. You are the best teacher, I have found. a great big Thank You. When my rich uncle gets out of the Poor House. I am hitting the Thanks button.

    I've used Cakewalk for years without really understanding how to use it. I would mess around until I found a reasonable result and then just do it that way forever. The Cakewalk documentation and most video tutorials either give WAY too much technical info (for me) or go so fast that I can't figure out what they're showing. Somehow you're managing to give just enough information at just the right speed so that every one of your videos I've seen so far is filled with big "aha!" moments that I actually understand and can remember. I can see that things are going to be much easier and more streamlined for me with Cakewalk now, and I'm thrilled. Thank you!

    A quick note: IF you setup busses, you can color them first, then all tracks output sends set to those busses will adapt to the buss color automatically :D Besides that, this "tune" did instantly remind me of "Simply Red - If You Don't Know Me By Now"

    Thanks for the Cakewalk video series. I have been using this DAW for 10+ years. I used SONAR X1, X3 and Pro. I was disappointed when Gibson stopped development on it but I was very happy when Bandlab took it over. In the past Cakewalk got a bad rap but I don't think people realized how powerful this DAW is and the things you can do with the included plugins. Hopefully with your videos on Cakewalk more people will be exposed to it.

    • @CreativeSauce
      @CreativeSauce  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, I'm really not sure why in some circles its not taken more seriously! I've used a number of DAWs, and I dont feel like Cakewalk has anything 'missing'. It did suffer from instability around X1, but seem very solid at the moment. Im glad you are enjoying the vids, thank you!

      I'm still happily using SPLAT, despite the discontinued support. It's simply the best workflow since I'm used to it. Should it ever fade beyond usability, I'll finally learn another DAW :D

    When automating, what's the difference between doing it the way you did and doing it through that tool where you can adjust the volume points throughout the track?
    Also, why not do a fade out instead of automating?

    There is a shorter way to make changes to tracks on mass. If we take the drum tracks, for example, highlight the track numbers by clicking on the first track, then holding 'SHIFT' and clicking the last track number. This selects all of the tracks between the first and the last track. Then by holding down the 'CONTROL' button, it groups the selected tracks. While holding down 'CONTROL' make any changes you like, and they will be made on all of the selected tracks. This includes Prochannel changes, bus changes etc.
