      Yep. I watch a TH-cam blogger that was visiting a San Fran attraction and left his rental car for like two hours. Came back to a busted window and stolen laptop and many other things. Once everything there is gone, the people that caused this will relocate and most likely be even closer to you!

    • @odietamo9376
      @odietamo9376 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing left to steal? Are you crazy? Do you have any idea how rich SF is? The reason for all the car break ins and the shoplifting and the smash and grab robberies is because they are being done by organized gangs. They work in teams. They realize they can easily get away with it because there are few if any consequences. Once the politicians and the judicial system-the courts, the DA-get serious about stopping it, then it will change. Or if they don’t, I predict people will more and more start to take the law into their own hands. The way it is now will not go on forever-how it stops is the only question. I am not including the SFPD in my criticism because they would LOVE to do more. But they are understaffed and fed up with people they arrest being released almost immediately, especially by judges who sympathize with criminals more than their victims, as well as various court rulings in the past that, to be fair, make it hard for the judges to be hard on crime. It’s a mess! Btw, I live in San Francisco.

    I live in Los Angeles, in the San Fernando Valley...and very soon, the same thing is going to happen here. Stores are being robbed by mobs, brazenly in the early afternoons.
    Restaurants are broken into, after hours and robbed.
    Without enforcement, without containment or deterrents...you get what we have.
    Decent, law abiding people have to stay contained.
    And the law breakers are taking over everything and making life hard for everyone else.

    I am so sorry that beautiful downtown SF is going through changes. I have visited SF three times and I loved it! I always made it a point to stay in hotels near the Wharf. I loved Market Street, Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge and park etc. The people that I met in SF were kind and extremely helpful as I am a disabled Army veteran. Since I must rely on my walking cane to assist in walking, when I asked for directions on how to get back to the hotel, all of the cashiers, police officers, cable car operators, tram operators went above and beyond to make sure I was safe. They also walked with me to the area I needed to be in order to get the right transportation back to the hotel. The last year that I visited SF was 2011. That being said, I left my heart in SF and I am grateful to all the kind people who assisted me, an old broad. 😊

    Rochester, NY is starting to have the same problems. Not as many homeless, due to the severe winters, but plenty of abandoned houses filled with squatters, prolific drug use, lots of guns(even children have them)& neighborhoods that not even the police will go into unless they go in numbers.
    Store personnel have been instructed by management not to apprehend shoplifters, due to gun violence. Therefore, people simply pick up things and walk out - no consequences. Many stores now keep nearly all of their merchandise in locked cases, especially drug stores. Others only allow a handful of people in at any given time - and I mean a handful...like 5.
    My sister lives on the outskirts, with her son and his wife,& they have a rule that nobody goes anywhere out of the house after dark unaccompanied. Not only that, but he programmed my sister's phone to give an audible warning if she is getting too close to a bad area...and there are more than one. Scary. And the racial hatred is phenomenal. There are even grocery stores you need to avoid; if you are not a person of color, you WILL be harassed,& very possibly attacked outside the store. If you fight back, you can be charged with a hate crime.

Arthur Lowry and his mate, both jews, set it up and the rest is history. He sold all the american stores but they kept the name out of nostalgia. They all look the same and most have ruined the old gorgeous streetscapes where they've built them.

      Totally agree. All about profit and taking care of stockholders. Who owns stocks? Not the poor. Rents are a sad joke. You need 10 incomes per household. Greed is a crime too but Corporations don't go to jail.

      Thank you for mentioning this primary factor. Corporate greed.

    The city got exactly what the people voted for. I worked in SF for 21 years building high rise buildings and remember walking the streets at 4:30 am bout 10 years again without any care or fear getting off the train walking the streets to work. I finally had enough and packed up and moved to Idaho in 2021. SF use to be an awesome place to visit and eat on the weekends but not no more. As long as people still vote democratic because of their emotions then this is the result. Ask yourself how democratic policies help the American people. Nuff said

      Try to change up the vernacular -- people aren't voting "democratic"--they're voting "DEMOCRAT"--BIG difference. The Democrats have NOTHING to do with democracy. Democratic policies would probably be fine, but DEMOCRAT policies only bring poverty, disease, crime and decline.

      Exactly 💯. Democrats are too blame. They are the enemy of freedom

    Never even imagined how one of my favourite cities could come to this. This used to be The city for me. Would never get enough of it. Whatever one wanted. Budget wise expensive but would manage to get some great bargains. The freedom to roam the pretty streets. Museums, cafes. A coffee a donut and watching the interesting mix of visitors from all over the world. The excitement at Fisherman’s wharf. The heady smell of pines and a relaxing walk amongst the sequoia and redwoods. What a sorry state it has come to………
