You welcome, actually this is an interaxle differential, is slightly different then an axle differential, but is the same principle how it works!!! This one allow the difference in speed between axles!!!
My truck has problem when I turn differential switch on I hear air does something but only one rear wheel spinning on passenger side. What can be the problem? What's need be checked?
The rear side gear also appears to be seized onto the input shaft. This type of failure is typical of a "spin-out" type failure mode. If the IAD (inter-axle differential) lock had been engaged in the lock position prior to any of the wheels experiencing some loss of traction, this failure mode would not have happened. The end result is lack of lubrication, but this is due to the centrifugal force throwing oil away from the rapidly spinning components during the "spin-out" mode. (Renzo, Meritor Australia)
Un buen contenido Y disculpe la molestia tengo una duda la pieza que lo cortaron tiene posición me podría decir ayudar con eso Gracias y saludos desde Bolivia
This seem to be a common issue with this type of diff., I had the same problem ad I only had 230K miles on my truck , it seems to be a lack of lubrication , mine was at the proper level and I it still broke.
Maybe you are right , but on this one wasn't enough oil in the Differential... Did you bought parts and assembled it or you bought a new interaxle differential?
Could you have experienced any loss of traction between tyre and road on any wheel at any point during the 230 000 km's? Loss of traction with power divider in the un-lock position is what will cause this type of failure.
Interesting man. Thx for the explanation. Never had to disassemble a differential.

You know wich of meritor's factory it was made? Work in the one in Sweden
No I don't know which one! Cheers from Washington State 🙋🏻♂️
is there a axle with around a 16 inch ring gear and a diffloc
The Meritor RT 145 series has a 15.2" ring gear with a DCDL (driver controlled differential lock) option.
