    His answers in that embargo section were really good and detailed. Hope he is here for the long run and can bring success to the club.

      He’s generally always good in the pre-match pressers, particularly in the embargoed section when we get on to wider themes

    I’m a professional videographer and as you are relatively new on your TH-cam journey, I thought I would give a couple of quick tips. I hope you don’t mind.
    You want to get rid of the flicker, as it will be distracting for viewers. It is happening because of the frequency of the light 50kHz is different to the frequency recorded (probably 60 kHz). To fix that, you need to change the frequency on your camera or turn the light off.
    I would recommend turning the light off, as the white balance is very warm (yellow), but not in a visually appealing way.
    Ideally, you would have a proper video light and softbox. But having no light will hopefully be a more appealing look in the meantime. But if you are recording this at night time, that is not going to be feasible.
    It’s good that you don’t have a lot of distracting things in the background. But there is an opportunity to have something interesting or colourful on the cupboard.
    That’s great you are wearing a lav. The audio is clean. If/when you start to EQ your audio, look to increase audio around 120kHz. This will add warmth to your voice. And look to increase audio around 4,000kHz. That makes a voice sound a bit more excited. This is fairly standard for a lot of podcasters, but this won’t suit all voices, but should be fine for yours.
    I hope some of this helps and that you don’t mind me sharing this advice. Best of luck in your continued journey.

    Last year Ange was bringing on Hojbjerg to close out results, this year it's Bergvall, that's a massive drop-off in leadership and experience

    I thought at the time that having conceded so early in the secong half, that was time to bring on Hojberg to muscle up the midfield, break up their play and generally lead - except there's no Hojberg anymore.

    Couple of points we were “Spursy” with Kane ,Dier etc
    The stats changed at Brighton second half because Brighton got on top , not because we didn’t want to run

    • @TomBarclayjournalist

      Postecoglou didn’t see it that way, re your latter point. At least, he definitely made a thing about the running. Yep the Spursy theme has been going for a decade

    It was the team that stopped running / mentality - not individuals.

    Like the old cliche - it's a game of two halves. Last season Tottenham seemed to have woeful first halves and better 2nds.
    Also, it always feels like Ange brings on subs for freshness much more so than to change things. I think this is because he believes in the system and really doesn't feel the need for any tactical change. So when he doesn't make subs, he may feel the players haven't worked enough or are still fresh enough to keep on going. Hence the 'they stopped running' stat.

    • @TomBarclayjournalist
      @TomBarclayjournalist  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes but if you can see they are not running enough, which he sensed at the time, it begs the question why not change it at the time to reinvigorate the team

      @@TomBarclayjournalistso what message is that to the players? You come out fresh after a half time break, and don’t play hard and you’ll get substituted off for a talking to? The only reason to substitute is for tactical reasons or when a player can’t physically manage. You had the best 11 available on the field playing the right tactics - let them learn the consequences of their actions and never repeat it again.

    There is a saying I heard a long time ago “a wise man is a man who has suffered”
    It is vital that Ange lets the players ‘suffer’ - ie: keep them on the pitch for as long as possible during the Brighton second half.
    Those players should not be permitted to ‘buffer’ their shortcomings and point elsewhere for their errors. It is the only way the players will learn to get the job done, using a specific style of play that is in keeping with Ange’s philosophy.
    If Angie‘s aim was only to get three points out of the Brighton game, he would have ‘parked the bus’ in the second half. But his objective is far beyond that. It is to allow the players to learn how to deal with adversity in a positive way and build a team/squad to have a style of play in keeping with his image (and that of the successful eras of the club), so as to challenge for the Premier League in the years to come.
    Evaluation of Ange’s tactics, must always be made with the backdrop of his overall long-term aims. However intelligent a journalist is, a failure to take into account this backdrop leads to many meaningless questions at the press conferences and subsequent micro-analyses.

      I get what you’re saying and I agree that’s what he’s going for, albeit it’s a bit of a luxury way of thinking given how unforgiving the Premier League can be. But on days like today, I’m all for it

      Reminds me of a possible scenario where a Spurs fans buys a plot of land and commissions a builder to build a three storey house for him.
      After a week of work, the Spurs fan is moaning the builder is digging downwards, rather than building bricks upward.
      The fan fails to realise the foundations need to be dug out and filled in first - before a brick can be laid. This is what Ange is doing, he is in the ‘foundation stage’.
      Unless a fan knows how to ‘build a house’, he will always moan.

    A couple of thoughts Tom. On reflection, yes, you guys should have asked him why subs wouldn’t have solved the ‘running’ problem. Seems like he let his anger get the better of him. Maybe a more sensitive but relevant question is why he is so emotionless on the touch line when the team clearly needs some direction and leadership as they flounder on the pitch. Would anyone dare ask that?

    • @TomBarclayjournalist
      @TomBarclayjournalist  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It would take a brave person to ask it, albeit I would back myself to ask it diplomatically enough! Seemed it all went very well today though

      @@TomBarclayjournalist Yesterday’s performance (by both Ange and the players) seems to show that there’s been a lot of ‘learning’ in the international break! Could this be the turning point where we can finally consign ‘spursy’ to the dustbin of history? And yes, I’d back you to ask that difficult question, diplomatically of course ;)
