A kid comes home from a soccer game: US dad: "did you win?" - NL dad: "did you have fun?"

We have Kroketten, that is the most important reason.

But the number one reason we are the happiest is because: we have kroketten and frikandellen

You know worldpower America's doing something wrong when skinny, happy Dutch kids get chocolate for breakfast while in the meanwhile the ever getting fatter American kids are not that happy.

As a Dutch person I can quire confirm as most Dutch kids are also very cultured. Many kids are raised with other people who have different cultures and learn about geography at a young age.

My country is far from perfect but I'm glad I grew up in the Netherlands :) My parents raised me to be very independent, I got to go everywhere on my bike by myself and they never put too much pressure on me, neither did my school. Yet I still think I reached my full potential. No need to put way too much pressure on little kids!

Didn’t know we were the happiest in the world haha but now that I think about it, my early childhood was amazing, I loved school and didn’t feel pressured at all! I always played outside with my friends and there were like 6 playgrounds in the area. I can’t even imagine being an unhappy child actually. Of course that changed when I was like 13, when we got actual homework and you know, school started becoming more stressful and puberty happened.. Also I cycle to school in about 30 minutes and always go with my friends and we just talk and cycle, which is really fun and just a nice way to socialize and stay in shape. We ALWAYS cycle, trust me. Even when I’m sick and it’s raining and freezing cold, I cycle. There are literal cycle traffic jams on the cycle paths (literally translated I guess, idk if that’s a thing) to school. And also, no one has helmets on, unless you’re just starting out with cycling.
