I was seeing like a woman who looked like she was 59 years old at my subway, I saw her working so hard to make everyone's sandwiches so when it was my turn, I had an extra 15 dollars so I gave to her. She was so happy about it and she said she really needed it. I went home feeling really good tbh
actually most fast food works rely on tipping to make a living watch a video called "Adam ruins tipping" and you will understand the whole story.

I had some conflicting thoughts about tipping as where I am from, tipping is not normal. We are not expected to tip and I rarely see people tip the waiters. I was like people are paid by the place for serving and you don’t need to pay them extra.
This video told me that you don’t tip people to pay them but you do so because you are happy with their service and just having a good day and want to make the waiter happy as well and appreciate their hard work.
Yeah. Plus some places pay their waitresses under minimum wage, so some people do rely on their tips.

Anyone else get excited when they finally saw him make a meatball sub? Such an underrated sub, I used to get Italian herb-cheese bread, whatever it's called, then meatballs, provolone, bacon, black olives, and ranch. Sooooo good!

I always get white bread, meatballs, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, carrot, tomato, salt and mayo. I also get it toasted. I don't always get the bacon tho. Sometimes I get that without any meat at all. But that's my main order 🤣

I used to work at a Mexican restaurant when I was in high school, I graduated a little bit earlier than most people and my counselor was very proud, the same day she told me I graduated and I didn’t had to go to school no more she came into the restaurant I worked at with her family and, bruh her husband tipped me with a $100 dollar bill too as a gift :’)

@slum The point I was trying to make is that there shouldn't be such a contrast between the two. Almost every twitch streamer will say how easy their job is and count their blessings. We should respect those who work long hours in the regular 9-5 workforce more often imo.

As a restaurant worker, it's 15% minimum 25% average. People you see often deserve those big tips every so often to let them know you appreciate all that they do.
There is no minimum or maximum or average. If you get a job expecting people to tip ya fucked up
America is the only place where tipping is a social norm, everywhere else it is strange to leave a tip. To expect a tip from somebody who already paid for the good/service seems greedy and just rude to me. The business should pay you a set amount and not expect customers to contribute to that.

I'm from Italy and we hardly ever give tip, different cultures have different ways of doing stuff.
Others are just assholes
America is pretty much the only place where tipping is a social norm. To expect a customer who has already paid for the good/service to contribute even more to fund the wage of the worker seems like an awful, greedy concept to me.
@@Daniel_Paterson Okay well you're commenting this onto everywhere, so might as well respond. In my opinion, it can be both a bad thing and a good thing. It's bad if the tip is part of someone's wages since most places where they tip they earn an awful wage. However, it can be good as you're rewarding good service with a good tip. I personally like it how it is at Subway and other fast food joints where you're not expected to tip, and the people there make decent cash (at least, not under minimum wage like at a restaurant where everyone tips). However, it's just a cultural thing, so we all have our own opinions.
Now, what's annoying to me is that you keep responding under each comment about the tip like this when, again, everyone has different opinions. We get it, you find American tipping culture kinda weird. But ftr not everyone agrees so unless you want to start an argument, stop copy pasting this everywhere in the comments section.
Yea im American and I think it's weird. I tip because you basically look like asshole if you don't. Not subway but at restaurants. I get that it's the only way the waiters make any kind of money but I honestly think it should be banned and have the employers actually pay them a reasonable wage instead of expecting customers who are already paying a good amount on that food and services to also pay your employees there wages. Only people who benefit from it is the restaurant owners. But most Americans are fine with it so I wouldn't expect it to ever change.
@@mastachefe4204 Yeah, honestly I'd prefer it if tipping was voluntary. The reason why I like tipping is that it makes a person's day, similar to how the TH-camr feels from a small tip. However, tips shouldn't be a part of someone's wages because that's just complete bullshit for an employer to not pay their employees at least minimum wage. It should be set up like how it is at Subway where the employees receive a stable wage and also get tip money from happy customers.

I work at Baker's (for those that don't live in SoCal it's a fast food place), and one day it was just me, one other employee, and the GM on shift. We got super busy mid afternoon for whatever reason, to the point where we had to close the inside, and everyone was scrambling to get orders out. Someone had to wait like 20 min. to get their food in the drive thru due to how backed up we were. But that person in the drive thru saw how much we were struggling and ended up tipping $3, which was a massive encouragement.

When I ordered Greek street food without tzatziki, the vendor nearly cussed at me! :D He swallowed a couple of words and settled on saying "Who the... Who would do that, it's the best part!" And continued to make my order while telling his partner to look at my plate. :D
