    First let me say this was the best visual video I have seen for beginners. The second way of doing it got just a little tiny bit confusing, if you had gone just a little bit slower it would’ve been better but if watching it a couple of times, you could get it... Was disappointed that it was so short. It was a good video

    Thanks for using different colors of beads and thread; it really helps. I wasn't aware of the Navajo stitch. Makes sense, but I'm not going to try it until I can do peyote in my sleep. I know I would screw it up -- *especially* if using the same color of beads for all the rows.

    What do you do with the stop bead when you are done.

    • @artnewwave
      @artnewwave  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stop bead is there to keep your work in place, especially with the first few rows. Once you have a few rows stitched, the stop bead can be removed at any time. I generally keep the stop bead on until I’m finished but its completely up to you.

    I completely get it, but I am working with size 11 Miyuki beads and the last bead at the very end of each row always turns sideways and doesn't lay flat against the bead below..... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have tried to not pull too tight, but they always flip anyway..... ready to give up or just have sideways beads all the way along both sides. Thanks

    • @artnewwave
      @artnewwave  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without actually seeing you bead in person, I think it's one of two things (or what generally happens to me)..... 1) You need tighter tension - ie pulling that last bead 'snug" into place, which usually pulls it into the correct alignment 2) Sometime you can "hold" the bead in place before passing thru it with a little extra tension.
      Out of the two above, it's usually the first one - just pulling that last bead so it snaps into place with some extra tension. If you're using Fireline for your beading you can have piece of mind pulling a little more LOL Whatever you do, DON'T give up - it just takes a little extra practice, everyone's way of beading is different. I usually bead with too much tension so I always have to remember to have a little bit of a lighter hand when working on things =)

    What kind of thread did you use

    • @artnewwave
      @artnewwave  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fireline - it's a fishing line that you can buy at most sports good stores. I generally use 10 to 14 pound, depending on what type of beads I'm using and the stitch.

    • @artnewwave
      @artnewwave  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I generally use Fireline fishing line that you can buy at most sporting goods stores. It's available in a variety of different "weights" (thickness) and I find that I usually use the 10 pound weight for most beading projects.
