Hey Matty, something worth mentioning is that sometimes the nvidia filters can cause the game to consistently crash if you're alt tabbed for more than a few minutes at a time, not sure if this happens to everybody but definitely something to keep in mind if this happens to you / people! Other than that these filters do really help though.
Thanks pal, this cleaned up the game graphics for me. It looks so awful before. I just wanted to get into DayZ again since modded servers are a thing now. Also still working in July of 2024.
If you have an AMD Card you can do similar things with AMD's Adrenaline Overlay (ALT+R is default key to open overlay once installed). Navigate to the "Gaming" tab at the top. Sharpness is on there and if you enable "Custom Color", you can change things like Brightness, Hue, Contrast and Saturation. No need to install Reshade.
I did this and noticed the difference basically as soon as I saw the first couple of zombies, then I seen how players stick out so... you're hard pressed for me to do this Matty, but, I left a like, comment, and subscribe because it was right on the money. Thanks.

Just letting you know that putting the setting on poor will lower your rendering distance for players, idk why they have done it like that since you cant see a setting for it, but putting your setting on medium would be a lot better.
@@paxe856 The overall graphics presets If you set it to 'poor', it sets an invisible setting for render distance to ~500m, and you cannot change that unless you change the preset away from low.
Just a heads up, but I'm fairly certain you're better off using Nvidia's hardware AA versus using post processing, as all post processing adds latency to the stack. It's not much latency obviously, but given the fact that there's nearly no FPS difference, or visual difference, it's probably better to use the hardware AA. Or just disable it in game and do it through the Nvidia control panel. For anybody interested, this is a good rule of thumb if you're playing FPS games. Avoid all post processing if possible if you're looking for really responsive low latency gaming. Sometimes it's tricky as lots of game dev's use post processing as a crutch, and disabling can sometimes make a game look terrible. Not in this case though. Post processing latency usually wont be as noticeable as the latency/input lag you'll encounter using something like vertical sync, but it all adds up, and it's a good habit to get into. Fortunately Nvidia has modern algorithms built into their control panel that can be applied to older games, and often times make them look even better. A game that comes to mind is Risk of Rain 2. The aliasing in that game is so bad, the in game AA algorithms don't even get rid of it. However, Nvidia's AA algorithms get rid of all of it without latency.

You most likely already know this but I'm commenting for others - the max render distance of players (and this is hardcoded at the ENGINE level due to how netconfig in Enfusion works) is 1000m. It will never not be 1000m. There is zero reason to need more than 1000m, or a bit above (1100-1200) to reduce the edge of the "fog" at 1000m. DayZ is NOT ARMA, where players are always rendered and you can get 2km kills.
@@RosaDreieck Yeah absolutely, also for some reason DayZ is the ONLY game where I gain a lot of frames when I turn down texture quality. I have no idea why. I have a 2070 so "textures" shouldn't be an issue unless they're secretly rendered in 16k or something, or texture quality is also changing something else in the game too. TBH half the textures are from ARMA 2, and half of the ones in ARMA 2 are from 2001's Operation Flashpoint so turning it to poor doesn't make that much of a difference.

V-Sync can be very useful in some cases: Py pc has no problem generating well over 100fps for example, but my monitor is a little older, it cant display more then 60 fps. With V-Sync on, it will limit my pc's fps to 60, there is no point in my pc generating more then that if i cant see em, also it runs a lot quieter this way and consumes less electric energy ;)

Sounds like you don't want to play DayZ. Camo is key to survival and staying put for however long may be an issue in action shooters such as CS:GO, but here, this is what you should be expecting. In a scenario that resembles the real world this closely, it's strategy. There are plenty of games with no foliage at all out there. You can enhance player visibility in Arena shooters to your hearts content. In DayZ, that sort of thing has no place, and frankly, I hope you get called out for it, and play the game the way it is supposed to be.
@@YSEternal_ Its a only gake when you can do it. Using filters like this its cheating. You guys odnt even see it. At this Point why play survival SURVIVAL pvp game? There is no stats in this game, there is no firzt position, there is no winners. Sweat players
When i see stuff that helps ppl spot other players artificially I get sad. This wasn't that, I wish the shadows couldn't be messed with. The egregious one is gamme during dark nights. Some ppl can see totally fine and others can barely see the path they are walking.
Misinformation on vsync. It doesn't 'eat up GPU and CPU power' at all. Not in the slightest. It caps framerate to the refresh rate of your monitor, and tries to synchronize the two to reduce tearing. Absolutely does not 'eat up' any power at all. You want it off to have higher framerate and lower latency, which is better for reaction times in PvP shooting scenarios.

With all of the available options to check/uncheck surely something in there is worth a look!

@@USERWASBANNED it’s very cpu heavy.. I just upgraded to a 3080ti and not much difference
@@entryman Yeah it's weird, ARMA is also extremely CPU heavy but I never gained FPS from turning textures down. I think the engine is just a mess of spaghetti code.

Not gonna lie just put these settings on and has made my game much clearer less blur at distance and a better overall experience. Cheers Matty triceps 👍🏻
Nice one connor, makes the game look more arcade style so gets a little getting used to!
Yeah doing a lot of pvp it’s so much better now

I just want it to look nice and crisp. Don't care about it for pvp because I rarely encounter it but after hours of walking to no where it starts to look a little blurry.
nice vid, did u changed anything for the mouse settings? im new to the game and the mouse input feels kinda delayed to me
Might just be dayz for you it definitely feels clunky compared to other fps games (me didn't change any mouse settings except reduce sensitivity slider)
Большое спасибо за информацию! Эти настройки очень полезны на Death match серверах
No problem blyat
Great video. What sensitivity & dpi do you use for DayZ Matty? I’ve been messing with my sens in the game files but can’t quite get it right where I want it…
I'll need to check lol! Will try see if i can find it I don't go into config i tend to use slider
@@MattyTriceps gotcha, what about just your dpi & how many ticks to the side u slide the sens in game? Btw, been binging all of ur videos since i found u. Nice to watch another Rearmed player (im US3 tho). Keep it up, I definitely think your channel will get huge!
I get a bunch of little dots on my screen at night? Anyway to get rid of it?
Nice video but what about draw distance can you show how to make sure we have the longest draw distance for players and stuff
You can play max for both but it will lower FPS. If bad PC i would reduce it to minimum
How to save nvidia filters i have to add them again every time i boot pc
But if I have a powerful Pc, and I don’t need to worry about fps, what settings should I lower ?
Wow man thanks my game is on another level 😂🎉
May I ask what monitor you are using
Thank you my guy
Any updated versions, these setting seem to very grainy now, especially at night
Good shout! Get that 144hz screen man! makes a big difference on dayz... +quadhd monitor
more fps for example 120 fps even on a 60hz monitor creates less input lag by the way

I feel using shadows would allow you to see a players shadow better no?
Possibly yes, however it also lets them hide in darker areas which is very common. I would rather see them hiding than see their shadow but all preferences!
Could you make an update video about this ? since there's more settings now
Still applies probably just switch off water reflection
@@MattyTriceps what about Terrain Surface Detail?

do you have a video for gamma for nighttime?
I feel like 3erd party software to improve games like filters and overlays used to be looked at as cheating did something change?
No more bush campers. would you ever do another solo video like before Matty to see how long you survive? Keep it up Matty 👍🏽👊🏽
Yeah I have some planned to run smaller groups max 5 maybe even a duo thing or solo see how it turns out😂
Sounds like you don't want to play DayZ.
@@Jammet you can sit in a bush all you want I don’t have time for that. sounds like you got offended take this with you 🧂
@@Jammet lol yea cause having that big ass map to explore just so I can sit in a bush for hours is how to play DayZ 😂
Awesome video!
Cheers William💯
when i try to use filters it says "A supported game is required to use this feature" plz help?
man everytime my ge force update comes i have to do this again :D but at least i know what video to go to :
Misinformation on vsync.
It doesn't 'eat up GPU and CPU power' at all. Not in the slightest. It caps framerate to the refresh rate of your monitor, and tries to synchronize the two to reduce tearing. Absolutely does not 'eat up' any power at all. You want it off to have higher framerate and lower latency, which is better for reaction times in PvP shooting scenarios.
Ah yeah maybe it doesn't particularly eat it up but it definitely makes my pc go BRRR while getting less fps.
average joe comment. v sync sucks
Sometimes when my game crashes or I update my driver it wipes all the filters and settings I have is there a way to save them properly sometimes I do at 10 times a day LOL😢
Can you possibly show the Nvidia settings in the control panel? I don't know what most of the check boxes even mean. I used the tab to set just DayZ on the installed games list and not the overall settings. I managed to get some decent results but checking the wrong box can introduce choppy laggy gameplay. With all of the available options to check/uncheck surely something in there is worth a look!
