@@sigurdwoodcutter4516 depends on how you look at it, the water there was shallower but there are WAY more reapers there (there are 3 reapers in the front and 7 in the back of the aurora)
You trying to hug the tail of the Aurora just gave me war flashbacks to the time I tried to go around the back of the Aurora looking for where I thought the entrance was. Couldn't see anything but murky water, then surfaced to see the tail of a reaper clipping through the thrusters of the ship literally like 10 feet in front of me. The only reason I survived was bc its pathing struggled with trying to attack something that close to such a weirdly-shaped portion of the ship. Had already been so on edge that I actually ended up having an anxiety attack and very nearly ctrl alt deleted out of the game to get out of the situation. Somehow survived the reaper when I unpaused and made it onto the rocks at the back of the ship, only to find that the 'entrance' I remembered being there wasn't actually there, and that my only option was to swim back home through reaper-infested waters. I chose to sit on the rocks until I died of dehydration, so that it would respawn me back at base.
I survived this biom. I was crazy enough to base down here even. I had top pass that Reaper many times to get to the life pod for food or to get food nearby. We even gave each other a stare down. I even based closer to the lavea zone. that area past the giant blue tree. Getting my cyclops past the beast with no shield generator was tough though. My method was "Dangerous biom = amazing loot." Would I do it again? Yes. It made my experience more interesting and fun.
I would like to add that swimming on the ocean floor raised my survival. Due to the reapers size and the sea floors uneven geography makes it harder for it to catch you and it will give up most of the time. I studied these leviathan extensively.
@@PomLamb my method is leviathan=bad (except for the reefback and the strider) and bad = i hit it with my termoblade so i killed atleast 3 reapers near the aurora and my reaper genocide hasnt ended yet
Bro this reminded me i still have a save with a lot of progress from years ago where i made a base on the other side of the Aurora with glass tubes to look into the pitch black as you hear the reapers but cant see them. Theres a specific path you have to follow but you can go all the way around the Aurora without being attacked.
The Reaper is by far the most terrifying creature in this game, in my opinion. I don't think they will ever be able to make something more frightening 😱😭
I also tried to do this after seeing your video... I did manage to build a base in the safe shallows even tho I ended up in a region with 2 reapers (dying 2-3 times). Anyways, great video. Also, for some reason when the reaper pulled me in its mouth I somehow didn't die... it happened twice and apparently because I kept moving and I didn't get pulled in its mouth... don't ask how...
One why would you do this to yourself, this is horrible. Second, nice little life pod. Three, the back of the aurora is officially called the crash zone trench, because of the gap that the aurora created, and it has the three reapers and no other lifeforms. Very welcoming . Four, are you playing on filmic grafics?
Thought it seemed like a fun challenge, can remember what graphics I was using, I think it might have been normal. I have used filmic in some of my other videos
I hope you enjoyed the Breathtaker screaming simulator 🤣 Tried moving the actual life pod, but man, that thing is actually heavier than a cyclops - no wonder they all sank!
It taught me that you can put hatches on the top or bottom of pieces instead of just the ends of tubes. I have like 60 hrs in the game currently, and I don't know how I went this long without knowing that. Or without thinking 'huh, all the lifepods have hatches on the bottom of them. i wonder if that works on other base pieces'. Legit thought he was playing modded for a good few minutes before it finally clicked and I felt like an idiot
Did you know that there are reapers in the front of the aurora where it explodes? Oh and by the way if you stay on the surface of the water then you will not be bothered by reapers😅
bro just go to the craige field you only have 1 reaper instead of 3 and you can escape that then live off fish in safe shallows the grab mats there the go back the same way and build a habittat builder then go back for the last time and build the base the way you are doin it is much worse bro
Not sure how this is even a challenge outside of Hardcore mode. Once you're out, all you need to do is go back with fish. Reapers can be temporarily pacified by feeding them like you would a Stalker. And two trips would be all you need to get enough for the habitat builder, an I Compartment, hatch, solar panel and fabricator. I mean...its fun content to watch, genuinely. But hardly a challenge.
Can you pin this please
No

I heard that the seamoth is faster than a reaper if you angle the moth a bit
If you go up, forward and sideways at the same time you can go faster then a reaper. It has saved my seamoth countless times.
