Hello all, I hope you are all doing well. Today I have a special video for you guys, a Soviet Airborne video inspired by the film “In the Zone of Special Attention”, better known as “В Зоне Особого Внимания” (1977). Truly, one of my favorite works of media from the Soviet Union. I know the song used is a bit over the top but it gets the overall message through. I hope you all enjoy, and thank you all for 200 Subscribers!
The Russian Airborne Forces or VDV (from Vozdushno-desantnye voyska Rossii, Russian: Воздушно-десантные войска России, ВДВ; Air-landing Forces) is a separate troops branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. First formed before World War II, the force undertook two significant airborne operations and a number of smaller jumps during the war and for many years after 1945 was the largest airborne force in the world.
The Russian Airborne Forces are well known for their mobility, utilizing a large amount of specifically designed vehicles built for airborne transport, as such, they are fully mechanized and traditionally have a larger complement of heavy weaponry than most contemporary airborne forces.

Imagine training to be a professional fucking soldier only to get told the moment you're dropping out of your plane that you're going to war and get dropped into either a freezing ocean, or into an airport over contested airspace and no ground support. *Fun.*
VDV were never dropped out of a plane, they were inserted via helicopter. They did have air support, have you not seen the KA-52s that were destroying ukrainian postitions on and near the airport? Also the air space was not contested over the antonov airport because ukraine never flew jets over there
Were never drooped into water. Also took hostomel without resistance, there are literally videos of it on TH-cam
