It’s an excellent addition if you’re keen on overlanding with regular stops. Very easy setup and pack up. But for regular camping and longer term stays there is better setups for the $.
Hi Dan. We take it off more often now that I have clamps and not bolts. Have slept in it many times off the Ute. No issues at all. If you’re concerned you can tie down from the welded rings on the legs. We don’t.
Ok so why not wind the legs right down then do your awning then instead of climbing on the milk crate. Also when you were trying to find the right socket you could save your back and time by having the tools on the back seat. Just thinking work smarter not harder.
we like looking yours video , you have many good idea for help me , for make my project futur , long travel in australia , start sydney finich in darwin , for put the 4x4 in box , for go boat direct indonesia and finich in thailand contry my wife . we want buy 4x4 mazda bt 50 with tommy camper . you think how many months for this travel ,we have time we stop working . thanks and happy new year , from nouméa ,new calédonia . fred and yupin
These things are ridiculously priced. I think they would make way more sales if they sold it as an empty shell. All you'd need is a cheap bed frame a camping gas cooker and maybe a 12v fridge. Probably save 10k lol. They should only sell this overpriced overweight version which is full of crap nobody needs as an option. This segment needs way more competition
im looking at getting a Tommy so i really like your videos, straight forward and to the point, love your milk crate as well
Glad you liked it. The milk crate is essential. Lol.
Good job Wayne, Wife and I are interested in the Tommy camper

Thanks for the video Wayne, got a lot out of it. You reckon you could sleep in the camper once it is off the ute or would it tip over?

Easy , what price range is that model .
The Tommy Camper without any accessories comes in at just under 17k.
