Hi We have had one of these for a while now with a few mods they are a great thing the adjustable bar is to keep the roof propped up as a safety thing though we have never used ours. The only bad point I have zippers are crap and you need to put marine hood liner on the roof to minimize condensation.

I see these in auction sites all the time and was wondering what their reserve would be, it's fantastic to know the price plus other options available. Great review, looking forward to seeing more vids.

It looks quite good for where it is manufactured and the price, but I agree the rivets look a little 'dodgy' (maybe a little caulking for reinforcement, or even one of those 'screw-in rivet tools').

Hi Im planning on buying one of these. Could you kindly do an upload of the changes you made ? You mentioned that you had changed a few things in the layout. Thx in advance!

Hey, I’m thinking about getting one. What are your thoughts on them? Is it worth getting?

Thank you for the comprehensive overview. Did you ever get to weight it before loading it up?

Hi can I ask how high the legs extent too

    • @jbevuc

They lift the camper to approximately 1.2m clearance from the ground without chocks. They extend approximately 400+ mm.

Hey, thanks for the review. I’m thinking of buying one at Grey’s too, so was great to get the prices and your thoughts etc on it, and to find you lost only one rivet. Would be good to know what changes you made. How do you find it hard to push up, ? I’m going to be a single woman who is even shorter than you 😅 so was wondering if I will manage the pop top bit.

I’ve just bought one. I push it up at the very rear in the middle near the entry door then just get on the bed , lay on your back and it’s really easy to pop it up by simply pushing upwards with both hands. To pull down just pull on the 2 handles keeping your head down as it pops down in rush at the end

Where did the quick releases, at about 4:55 come from?

After owning it for a few months now, what are your thoughts? Do they come in different sizes for different trays? Thanks

    • @jbevuc
      @jbevuc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I believe they come in 2 sizes - 1.8m and 2.1m (tray length).

This appears to be a typical Chinese knock off of the Tommy Camper from Ballarat....

This is a Tommy Camper knock off. Not as good either in my opinion. Much cheaper though.

I don’t see what makes this a “military “ camper. It’s just another camper

What a shame it's made in China. 👎🇦🇺

Yup! We called every single manufacturer in Australia to put an order in, but the waitlists were all 9+ months long! Alas, no risk on production capacity expansion = no reward. We also tried buying 2nd hand, but nothing was available in the style we wanted. Entertainingly, we've already gone and finished our big lap before Australian manufacturers could have made something for us!
I had read/watched a bunch of terrible reviews about these (all of which are by people who don't own one) so was really nervous before buying. But I can confirm that after a 20,000km trip, only one rivet needed replacing, and that was after doing a miserably corrugated stretch of road. I popped a bolt in the spot and carried on no problems. Nothing else shook apart, and we saw some pretty terrible quality roads in Vic/NSW due to rain.
We did a huge internal renovation before heading off, but I'm a bit slouchy about making videos. Am doing a weekend away soon, might do a video of all the internal changes we made.

@@mytruckcamper1034 we have recently bought one of these at auction too, but haven't had a chance to use it yet! I'd love to see what you've changed inside, we're of the same mind, it's good, but needs some changes to better access some of the space!
