@@DJAUDITS Car magazines used to pay big money for photos of prototypes, especially brands like Aston.
Some photographers would wait hours at test tracks such as Millbrook to get a good shot of an interesting car.
The internet and mobile phone cameras has ended this business.

Been to Millbrook, enjoyed it, great to see the respect from the staff and security, I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Great company, UTAC - awesome showing all around. Love to see it. They represent themselves very well.
I flew Richard Hammond years ago in an Agusta 109.He bummed a lift from Lyde to Portland.He had just passed his PPL(h) so was non stop with questions.After about ten minutes he said to me “ sorry I do tend to talk a lot”.I said not problem and turned the intercom off.😂
I've been to the site. Spent a whole week testing some machine. Got to see cars going round and round that track at 200mph. Well it sounded like it was that speed. They also do tours of the other parts of the track.
This is one place where they enforce a no photography rule. The lens on my phone had tamper proof tape put on it which was removed by security when I left each day.

I worked there as a test and development driver for 5 years. Fantastic place, fantastic people and some huge talent there across different industries.
I personally struggle with this video however. Maybe this is more of a UTAC problem because they clearly need to sharpen up on the sensitivity of their clients products and protect them against this type of exposure.
One part of where you flew over is a secure compound which is only given access to specific people when on foot as it usually holds some very sensitive vehicles in there. Sometimes they will even be in camouflage and under covers if extremely sensitive. What you did could have compromised their clients products confidentiality. You probably didn’t know this but this is very likely going to cause a lot of issues there between UTAC and some of their clients.
I’m really happy to see everyone being so respectful, I would expect nothing less as the vast majority of people are passionate professionals.
I very much miss spending time there.

@@VinEvil ...The name Holiday rings a bell...did he look like Uncle Fester?...Stuart Dix was the Workshop Manger when i was there...Glen Kovacs and my pal Michelle ...Can't remember any other names...The Guy who took me out on my first day on a Test for the Licence was a nice guy...always smiling and happy. But i heard he passed away from a Heart attack..shame...my first six months was nearly all Renault Kangoo;s and Chevrolet's in Disguise. Looks like its all changed now..Probably reason I was made redundant...all the work was mainly GM..did you work in that period or for this company UNLIAC ?
@@marypettyfer4640 a close friend of mine who still works there says that the customers were understandably not happy. It could have easily dramatically effected peoples lives and it likely has.
When I was there we lost a contract which meant at this particular time around 75% of our workforce lost their jobs. It was heartbreaking.
I have lost a lot of respect for DJ.

Yay, Millbrook! Fond memories of blatting around the mountain track in a Lotus Carlton.
That 5 lane banked circular track is fascinating. You can see at 22:26 the lanes are marked 40, 50, 60, 75, 100. This is the nominal 'neutral speed' for that lane. What that means is, if the vehicle is perfectly balanced and tracked, you should be able to take your hands off the steering wheel and the vehicle will stay within that lane at that speed. This place has every type of test track you can imagine. Steep, flat, smooth, bumpy, straight, twisty. Everything!
I’m jealous of those days! My Dad was there then. Wasn’t the Lotus Carlton the fastest production car in the world with being able to achieve around 176mph?

I briefly got to work with some of the old timers before the redundancies came along.

DJ you love electric cars ect you may want to look at Brent Cross on the A406. Over the last 2 months the old overflow car parks have been filling up with hundreds of unregistered Tesla’s. The view at night time is funny as all the info store keep randomly going off it’s like Xmas lights

The green car going around the track is likely to be a prototype for the forthcoming Aston Martin DB11 replacement, rumoured to be getting called DB12. The grey car is a Lotus Emira, and the car with Fisker on the roof is a Fisker Ocean.

@@thetruth9210 indeed, the videos are a lot tamer now than they were a year ago. There are plenty of things to audit though and I am sure the videos will evolve. It just makes the ones that kick up a fuss even worse.
There’s a similar place in nuneaton called horiba Mira. I’ve worked in both millbrook and Mira. Lots of secret vehicles in there from prototype upcoming cars to military vehicles. Both very interesting places! The do crash testing at Mira.

Surprised they didn't have a no fly zone there..I was a test driver for 3 years...the security were red hot about making sure the perimeters were secure against spy photographers...perhaps they don't do pre production car testing anymore...Best job ever

You can change the gimbal speed i believe in settings if you find its a little slow keeping the subject in shot
Millbrook Proving Ground is where they filmed the famous Aston Martin rollover scene in Casino Royale James Bond movie.
Interesting fact about the circular track. A driver keeps the steering wheel straight when going round and round.

Another awesome audit DJ! I've been to Milbrook several times, for driving experiences and team building days in the late 90's. You got to drive various supercars around the different tracks and finish with a short lesson in a two man helicopter at the end of the day. Fantastic experience!

Complete guesses but looks like a couple Jaguars just from the rears but very unsure, pretty sure a white Bentley SUV and last is a Silver Renault Estate I'm pretty sure.
I believe it's "pru ving" ground not "pro ving". Proving is the gerund of prove. When adding "ing" to make the gerund we generally drop the "e" but still pronounce the base word as if it was there.

That trailer that you was saying the video that they should take the wheels off otherwise they are asking for trouble I believe that that tow hitch is only going to be easy if you have a tractor or some kind of agricultural vehicle is would not go on any normal towbar so I think the chances that going are pretty sparce,

As well as general haulage Rogers Transport specialize in transporting and storage of cars, that vehicle could have had prototypes or test cars on board.
