    Are these units (Headunit / ICM ) plug and play or do they have to be programmed by the dealer if purchased used? i have an 'Volvo v70, 2012. Around a year ago the radio and infotainment system started to fail. and wondering if the problem is the ICM unit? . I was recently given the car and I have started to diagnose and try to fix this issue. The symptoms of this issue are the screen for the infotainment system not working but its turn on and hanging on and on, all of the lower lights and buttons work such as the heated seats and or the defroster and fan control. They all work . Up till this point when I turned the car on I would receive no light from the screen and none of the audio buttons such as FM, AM, and or volume not either, about 6 mounts ago the rear park sensor failed to show on screen. grateful for every answers

    Can you repair the CEM, program them as well as sell new ones? Thx. My 2004 Volvo is possessed with items such as the sunroof opening on it's own.

    I found that when I removed my ICM in that manner, I triggered a fault code and had to have it reset by a mechanic. I would recommend moving the gear selector back to Park, then turning off and removing the key and waiting five minutes, before disconnecting any of the ICM cables.

      Philip Roper Hi Philip. Thanks for your comment. The procedure described in this video is generally used by Volvo dealers. Regardless of the procedure used, the ICM will have already triggered codes relating to network interference. The SRS codes will need to be cleared. The SRS system will not clear by simply disconnecting the battery, it will only clear after the fault is read. Hope this helps!

      Thanks for this video. Will I have to take the car to the dealer to clear the SRS codes?

    Can the car be safely driven without the ICM while I mail in my unit for repair? I took it out last night and plugged the climate control back in but the air conditioning won't turn on and the power windows won't operate. That's just what I noticed isn't working without the ICM installed.

      We generally do not recommend driving your vehicle while the module is sent out for repairs. You can contact our Tech Support department for assistance and confirmation. Please fill out a "Technical Questions" form on our website to get in touch with us!

    Hello Xemodex, I got here while looking for answers, because today they brought a 2006 XC90 for me to buy, but the radio comes on and goes off immediately. Seems the ICM has to be changed. How can I get the ICM across to you (if I end up buying the car) and how much will it cost me to fix it with you guys. Thanks for posting this video - it gave me hope that I can still go for the car afterall.

    Why can’t you just replace the whole unit with a used unit instead of sending the ICM out for repair and reinstalling it

    • @XemodexInc
      @XemodexInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the year and model, these units have hardware and software specific part numbers. We provide both Repair and Pre-Programmed options.

    If you don't unhook the battery you get all kinds of issues

      Hi Michael. Thanks for the tip! Yes, our tech recommends that any time a module is removed, the negative battery cable should be disconnected. The cable should only be reconnected after the module is fixed and reinstalled.
