What I love is how Hollywood wanted to turn Freddie Prinze Jr into a heartthrob, but he bucked that and turned out to be a gigantic dork and I’m all about it.
when i was rlly young (maybe like 6 at the oldest) my uncle recorded a valentine's day marathon block of the powerpuff girls, and amid all of the insane commercials he recorded on the tape was a little bumper ad for this specific episode. i've always had that like deep-seeded childhood media memory of seeing brak singing with fpj. seeing this video at 27 is like seeing a ghost. a really weird, stoned af ghost.
Perhaps a really stoned… space ghost? But for real, I randomly downloaded the audio to this when I was in high school and I put it on my iPod. I have really weird memories of this song when I was young too, it’s weird.
When I was about 6, my parents wouldn’t let me watch Cartoon Network, but my dad would play clips of Brak frequently, this clip in particular. I remember watching this on a TV with my dad and thinking that this was so funny. It still holds up to this day as one of my fondest memories growing up. This never gets old.
Grew up watching Space Ghost Coast to Coast, but damn. Any actor who is willing to participate in something so damn goofy has my undying respect. A lot of actors would turn their nose up at something like this.
THE SONG IS JUST THAT ONE LINE: IM DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY 40 IN MY BIG OLD PICKUP TRUCK. THEN IT REPEATS THAT ONE LINE FOR THE WHOLE SONG. IT IS A CARTOON NETWORK BRAK SHOW CLASSIC. ROCK ON YOU COOL SPACE CAT!!!
I love Brak! I had a Brak action figure that I bought myself when I took my kids to the video store. But I lost it in Katrina (with everything else) 😭😭😭😭
I vaguely remember Brak singing about highway 40 and something about his big ol pickup truck. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was a whole song staring Scooby Doo's Fred and Drunken Jedi Kanan Jarrus.
You're both wrong. Haha It was skit on the original run of The Brak show. It ran on Cartoon Network in the early 2000's. It only lasted one season and then they restarted the show with a new formal for Adult Swim. It has a weird history.

He also has one of the few healthy celebrity marriages in Hollywood
Freddie is big based Chad energy
He is Kanan Jarrus.
Dude has been a huge wrestling nerd since he was a kid & wrote for WWE for a minute
i can just imagine Buffy watching this video
this is the best role freddie ever got and he did great
Right up there with Kanan in Star Wars Rebels
@@idunnobutyay2520 i love you
@@Nupetiet awww, thank you so much!

OH I REMEMBER THAT when cartoon Network was ACTUALLY GOOD
also can you post the footage on youtube people like me LOVE that stuff
im your age and as a child i was always freaked out by brak. i honestly was just disturbed by him; I was always like wtf is he?
I saw this back in like... 2003 when I was around 11. This too, is a deeply rooted memory for me.

@@jmoneyp4p same thats why I didn't watch this till recent
The Tom Brokaw part always killed me!
Andy Merrill does the best Tom Brokaw I've ever heard
I've done repair work on his house it was crazy talking to him hearing the news anchor I grew up watching on tv telling dirty jokes 😁
my dyslexic ass read "Tom Brokaw" as Bone Tomahawk
@@johnpatterson8697 i just might steal this for a name one day, but i'll always credit you if i do!
I had no idea that's what he said. I couldn't quite understand what he said right there before.
the man understood exactly what the scene called for and hes a legend for it
Couldn't find this for the longest time. Thought I might have imagined it as part of some fever dream.
Bruh same 😂
Same
It's rather strange playing Dragon Age Inquisition and knowing that Brak and Iron Bull were together in a pick up truck singing like girls.
WHAAAAAAAAT
What
what?
I think of this often when I revisit Mass Effect with James 😂
For all the people saying "WHAT" FPJ voiced Iron Bull
and James in ME

kids today will never know how awesome this song was
true
Send a link. Then they will know.
Freddy must have been nervous seeing THE Brak in person.
Oh he's a total sweetheart. You think he's gonna be scary cause he's this cool guy you know, but he's just like everyone else
I love how freddy is supposed to act like he is annoyed by brack, but the actor can't help but laugh a bit at times at the voices
The Tom Brokaw / Katie bit gets me EVERY. TIME.
We drove down highway 40 this past February. I wish Brak rode with us.
He was there
Were you in a big ol' pickup truck?
Grew up watching Space Ghost Coast to Coast, but damn. Any actor who is willing to participate in something so damn goofy has my undying respect. A lot of actors would turn their nose up at something like this.
Been at least 20 years since I had heard this. Somehow, randomly driving home after grocery shopping this popped in my head.
Andy Merrill had fun voice acting didn't he?
My question:
Who wouldn’t have fun voice acting this material?
I would have had the time of my life doing this
ANDY MERRILL IS THE ONE AND ONLY COOL VOICE ACTOR IN CARTOON NETWORK HISTORY. ONE COOL GUY EVER.
I mean, he still regularly does videos of himself singing as Brak on his social media so I'd wager "yes". lol
Holy fuck I didn't hallucinate this.
We all hallucinated this, dude.
*I T W A S R E A L*
Give it up to Freddie's commitment and enthusiasm to this..legend.
If you've ever hung out with an old school mechanic then you know this is a rite of passage.
Like monsters!: I'M DRIVING DAWN AAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone needs to make this into a metal song oh man this brigs back childhood memories when it was on cartoon planet back then
I used to hear this on this old kids radio station. I couldn't get it outta my head the other day
LIKE MONSTERS!
Shelby Taylor the birth of death grindcore haha.
they used to play this banger on Sirius Xm all the time
I miss you Brak.

I remember me and my mother watched this when I was 5 or 6 and we both laughed so hard.
I was alone but same feel 5 or 6 yo feel watching this, though. Jeeze.
The world used to be so fun
You mean used to be *NORMAL*
Not so fun, but definitely more creative
I would LOVE 2 hang out w/ Brak. He & Freddie r having so much fun (& Brak's truck is real nice & shiny).
I live in Amarillo, Tx., and yes it goes down like this frequently.
Dude, same. Can confirm.
I live in Nashville and Hwy 40 runs right through. It does go down like this
Remember listening to this on SiriusXM radio
I remember seeing this on Cartoon Network. I can't believe it's actually here on TH-cam.
How does Brak do that fish thing??? He doesn't have lips...
Don’t ask questions, you’re ruining it for everyone.
How does he even talk?
Pretty sure like %90 of vocalizations require lips to produce them.
Brak drives an ol' Chevy Cameo.......
so he's _coo!_
thanks this cured my depression
Gotta stop and smell the cardboard roses from time to time.
I still get this stuck in my head years after seeing it on tv.. I love it.
I needed this today. Thank you Freddie. Thank you Brak. And thank you Tom Brokaw. Katie?
This was my song when my family would annoy me n i matched their adult energy lmao…good show good times lol
I'm 54 years old and need to watch this every few weeks. Thank youBRAK!
55 in 2024 and it randomly popped into my head
I Agree it’s like medicine..
Man I miss the early days of Adult Swim 😩
Let’s do it like cows!:
Moo moomoo moo momoo moomoo
moo moo moo moo moomoo moo!
this had me ROARING with laughter. thank you for sharing
My favorite Brak stuff was on Cartoon Planet.
Watching this as a kid I remember laughing so hard and now as an adult this is still a gem.
This has been stuck in my head since childhood.
First time ever watching the original video for this song.
LOVE IT!
I used to love this clip when I was a kid!
11 people thought that 40 was the speed limit.
My childhood!
one of the weirdest and shortest documentaries ive ever seen
I sing this with my kids, in my Chevy. Lol
I love Brak! I had a Brak action figure that I bought myself when I took my kids to the video store. But I lost it in Katrina (with everything else) 😭😭😭😭
Damn I’m sorry to hear that! That would be so cool to have now.
This is my favorite thing ever
Brak is a better singer than justin beiber. Thumbs up if you all agree.
so true
+Aleigha Magel I agree 110%.
Has better songs too!
Hell yah😂👍👍👍👍
I haven't seen this since the early 2000s when I was a kid
Good Times Too 👍😁
It's nice to see Brak and Kanan having a good time
This is what happens when Kanan becomes one with the force.
@jeramy Hitchens, I have to thank you so much for uploading this. So many good memories and still so much laughter after all these years 😂
How did Andy Merrill (Brak’s voice actor) came up with this song?
Thanks! This was really hard to find online for a long time
Can't help but wonder if Sarah Michelle Gellar has seen this and how jealous she would be of her husband getting to sing with a legend.
When your street address is on Route 40..😁😎👍😜 and you live in a county where there are half as many pickup trucks as there are people 😆
Jesus christ, talk about unlocking a part of my brain that hasn’t been accessed in decades. I forgot that this existed.
Im I'm my late 20's and I just love brak. I'd love for him to come back before I die with a new show. Or maybe even a movie
I want to know how he explained this to Sarah when he got home.
Honestly FPJ’s best role 😹
I Miss Freddie Prinze Jr.
You're thinking of his dad, aren't you?
Yep, he died in 1977, a year after Freddie Jr. was born.
It sucks his father committed suicide right after his birth so he really never knew him.
Junior’s still kickin’.
Wow, he is still young as he was back then.
This video always cheers me up when I have a bad game of LoL... ^^
Greatest song ever
This brings back so many memories! I always associate Freddie Prince Junior with this and Scooby Doo.
0:23 i now see that doctor steve brule was totally influenced by brak
This is a bop right here.
He looks baked afff 😂
Ahhh when you're in the mood to hurt your ears sooo good
1:22 Where is my 10hr version of this!?

90's nostalgia
Omg this brings back memories lol
My brother and I used to sing this song in the car.
I remember seeing this on Cartoon Network's Greatest Musical Moments. 😄
hey! I drive down highway 40 in MY big ol pick up truck!
What I wanna know is who gave Brak a license.
You can tell by the way he said “carbon city” in the beginning it was about to be hilarious… the monsters was the best.
I had the soundtrack of this two episode series, I used to take puppets & play this song to put on a puppet show for the little kids in my family.
I remember this, this was probably as a commercial.
I think it was for some kind of Cartoon Network special.
You're both wrong. Haha It was skit on the original run of The Brak show. It ran on Cartoon Network in the early 2000's. It only lasted one season and then they restarted the show with a new formal for Adult Swim. It has a weird history.
It was from a Brak Special but yeah they used this clip as a promotion/commercial on CN all the time back then
Did they? I only remember it from _The Brak Show_ .
The best thing freddy prince jr ever did

"...like monsters." hahahahahahah

Best song ever 2018
did this invent the genre of pig squeal unknowingly?
This is the only thing I remember Freddy Prinz Jr doing
This Seems wholesome to me!
this show was a fever

Awwwww, man. I miss this so much.
Freeze! Wait for it.......
I love how it sounds like Tom Brokaw.
It's final I lost my last brain cell today.
I remember when i was super small my played this to me and my brother while cooking dinner! 😂😂😂
This must have been so much fun
