    Un grand merci de nous faire partager votre magnifique travail et vos astuces ; le noir de lune donne un résultat magnifique lorsqu'il est appliqué sur un fond jaune ou ocre ainsi que le bleu outremer 💙

    Top class demonstration and explanation of this affect. Ive been following your videos for a while now and have always learnt much from them. Thank you for the selfless work you do to help folks like me to learn express themselves through watercolors

    An excellent demonstration that is very helpful to see how best to get granulation effects. Depending on the brand of paint, the granulating paints work well because the pigment used has different particle sizes (and possibly shapes) which creates more of a granulating effect when mixed with water. This can be seen in your demonstration of the Lunar Black by Daniel Smith.
    I get mixed results when using granulation medium to add granulation to non-granulating paints. It tends to work best when a lot of water is used for more abstract type paintings.
    My favourite granulating paints are Daniel Smith, but Schmincke also have some good options too. Even the budget paints of White Nights have an interesting selection of granulating paints which are good to experiment with and not worry about the cost of the paint.

      So true! I also noticed, different pigments (granules) travel and settle at different speed/places...so, you mix two or three colors together, spray it, let it be and the top, for example, looks redder and the bottom greener...this is especially true if to use staining colors, they always leave a trail haha

    I didn’t quite understand how you used or applied the granulation medium in the last painting with ultramarine blue. Would you explain the process?

    • @nvfineartstudio7296

      Hi, I mixed a 1/2 tea spoon of Granulation medium with Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna in the palette well, painted the shape with this mixture and than sprayed the shape with water. It,s important to let it be after you spray and keep the board/paper tilted. The run off creates texture, not the medium itself.

    Your painting style I've seen so far in your other videos reminded of Zbukvic. Now having seen you even using the same terms of his watercolour clock has convinced me that you are inspired by him. Am I right? 😉 Btw, congrats on your great tutorials. They are very inspiring and motivating to me. Keep your great work and thank you!

      Thank you so much! I admire his work. Ive painted a few demos per request and use his "coffee" or "butter" etc consistency terms in addition to proportions for those who struggle with numbers. 👍

    Isn’t ultramarine a granulating color? I’m wondering what will happen if the granulating medium is used with a non-granulating color. Thank you for making this video. Very interesting❤

    • @nvfineartstudio7296
      @nvfineartstudio7296  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jia, yes it is, but it's a subtle granulation. Granulation medium exaggerates it. If you use "non granulating" pigments it will create much finer texture (non-granulating paints are still made of particles but they are much finer).

    This was a very thoughtful presentation! I found it very helpful although I don't think I would ever use black or the charcoal to make dark tones!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

      Thanks Marvin! I haven't mentioned it there (as it wasn't the topic), but you can mix them with other colors. It will granulate and add neutrality to the mixture. Similar to adding Neutral Tint, but much weaker as there is no pigment as such.

      Not a problem, it is Dainayw at 3 minute mark (natural timber handle), and NEEF, Australian brand, at 7-8 minute mark (red handle)
