I previously signed up for the circular saw masterclass, and completed it over the summer. It is a fantastic course. I definitely had a new found respect and understanding of my circular saw and use it more frequently. It saved me a ton of time on my recent firewood shed project over using the mitre saw. I highly recommend. Would love to see a masterclass on routers next.
Fantastic design Shane - works a treat. If you built a frame to move it off the wall by a few hundred millimetres, you will also have space for tool storage/shadow board, without eating too much space from the width of the garage.
Hi. Thanks so much for your wonderful videos, and this is a great little workbench. My only amendment would be to have it lower and fold up from the wall, rather than folding down. If you have it like you do now, you cannot place anything in the garage below it without having to clear it all away every time you drop the table. If you have it lower and pulling up, you can have a series of shelves in the place where it currently resides (folded), maximising the space of your small garage. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, I've learned so much from you.
Hi Mate, ANOTHER great project. My son and chief builder-designer-engineer might utilize this plan. As with clamps, “You can’t have enough of ‘Anything’ in your shop. ONE workbench simply isn’t enough. …Joe in NJ
👍😁....No worries at all Phil 👍 Shame about being laid off mate....hopefully something comes up shortly for you 🤞 Brentford shouldn't be a problem mate 😁
🤣😂......yeah that on'e's been around the traps for a while but still holds it ground l reckon 👍😁 Thanks for watching as per usual Frank. Cheers mate 👍😁🇦🇺
I immediately added the original fold-away bench video to my "pallets & projects" playlist when I watched it back when, and this follow-up is a great addition. My dusty, old 10x8 trailer is in need of a glow-up (a 2024 priority), and I've designed a combo system similar to yours (yours being MUCH more carefully laid out and measured). The idea is to have a fold-down bench/desk with a fold-down mattress frame over it, so it can be a work _and_ minimalist camping rig. Thanks for helping me visualize it all more clearly with your vids! Cheers.
so good to see you. Good job with the table. One thing i would add is another set of long latches under the table framework and your stopper . like say where you are holding at 9.28 - so that the legs do not collapse if someone accidently kicks the table leg or something rolls against it. I also like how the framework under the table is a bit off from the edge to allow any clamps fitting Congrats on your new venture too. - Master Class
Cheers mate 👍 I know what you mean re the latches. Having said that, once the legs are down they are quite solid and it would take a good hit to make them fold 👍👍
Great project Shane, I wonder if you could do 3 of them in a row with the middle one lower to act as a mitre saw station if you had the garage length? Might look to do something along those lines at my place
Another great video uncle knucker, not to sure about the dad joke in today's society. haha Really sturdy and very practical, good use of the piano hinges. Thanks for sharing Shane
I like how it works. Only issue I see is, if you have something heavy on it and someone or something hits the leg from the front, there is nothing preventing a collapse. Would it not be better to have some sort of brace to prevent the leg from getting accidentally kicked in.
Thanks mate 👍 I was considering adding a brace bit it didn't seem to need it as it sits solidly on the ground. It would take a pretty hard knock to dislodge the legs. Appreciate you taking the time to watch 👍😁🇦🇺
hi, i am making this folding bench of your design myself because I love carpentry work, so...this knucklehead is asking if you can use 90 degree locking hinges on the legs instead of bolts and wing nuts? It will cause the legs to not lie entirely flat but are there other problems?
Hi Sally, l'm not that familiar with the 90 degree locking hinge so am not quite sure of the implications of using them 🤔 Off the top of my heads l can't see any real dramas but it does sound like a good idea if you can get it to work.....good luck 👍
Enjoy your channel….but when I built my work bench 10 yrs ago I decided to fold it down instead of up so I could use the wall above the table for tool storage.
OMG!! What a beautiful blonde! Too bad she's been sniffing too much paint! 🤣 Absolutely loved the Dad Joke! 😂 Nice job on the workout bench! Dropping it down, lifting it up. 🤣....Hubba Bubba! I never thought of using it as a piece of exercise equipment.....multi purpose!.....great idea Sandi 😁 Yeah a sneaky little segue into an ad never goes astray 🤣 Someones gotta promote my stuff 👍😁
Great design, except one needs to make sure not to lower it by holding onto the long apron - ouch! Maybe it should have a long notch; or be down a bit with separate pieces on the legs to prevent over-extension?
🤣....Very true Vic....the car can stay in the street! Yeah it's good to get another vid out......considering what's been going on for the past month it's good to back to kind of normal 👍😁🇦🇺
You probably could Scott. You would just need to make the connection point at the wall wider to enable a leg to sit flat against the wall when folded 👍
Hey there mate! Question, did you say ledger board or wedgy board? 😅😅😅 Personally, I like the demountable workbench better, BUT... you need to keep content fresh and new. Ha ha ha. Still very useful. Great idea. 👏👏👏

there is one huge flaw with this table. how am i supposed to pile up clutter on it and also fold it away?
🤣🤣😂🤣.....Mmnnn...didn't think of that 👍😁🇦🇺
Build a big hole in the wall, when you raise the table, the clutter will go in the hole... Simples.

Well done, Shane! A concept that was previously broached now presented in an elegantly simple design well executed. Thanks!
