A composer who, both in terms of his historical significance and the quality of his music, deserves to be heard more often. He was also probably Mozart's most influential teacher.
Geoff Walker As a young boy, you are probably correct; as a mature composer, the impact of Haydn was probably more important and deeper than simply ‘influence’. Due to their stature, Mozart and Haydn challenged and stimulated each other in ways no other contemporary composers could ever hope to do.

This is my favorite piece of music by Johann Christian Bach. The oboe fit his style of composition so perfectly. I wish that he had composed more music for oboe!
Ese oboe se oye divino . Johann Christian Bach , galante y preclásico , inspiración de Mozart . El Bach de Milán, también Bach londinense . Fascinante !!
Among the four sons of JSB, Johann Christian was the closest both to Mannheim and to Italian style. This can be vlearly heard in that concerto. I don't think that he could compete with his brother Carl Philipp Emmanuel, but I LOVE him (and Mozart loved him too).
I believe JC was almost unique. The so called Galante style. I have tried CPE but cant get into him. I love JS, but to me JC is delightful listening. How he was so different to his father is a bit of a mystery.

@@gerardbegni2806 Thank you. I listened to this as played by Robert Hill. Must admit, not my taste, but was able to appreciate it. CPE was clearly ahead of his time. My taste is more like Sinfonia Concertante in C by JC. Listen to this quite a lot. In fact my picture is really a portrait of JC. He looks so happy.
The whole time, I thought it was a JS Bach piece that I somehow missed. I was thinking, this does not sound baroque, this sounds classical! Then I saw it was JC Bach lol.

Helen! meget fint!!
Hermoso ejemplo del estilo galante.
Beautiful oboe music. Thank you for bringing it to us to enjoy.
The oboe is officially one of the most difficult instruments to play. 4:45
The oboe first appeared in France in the 17th century.
Subsequently, more advanced, German-style oboes spread throughout Europe. 5:44
The sound of the oboe is characterized by being bright, penetrating and warm.
Oboists often say that their sound can express a wide range of emotions, just like the human voice.
The whole time, I thought it was a JS Bach piece that I somehow missed. I was thinking, this does not sound baroque, this sounds classical! Then I saw it was JC Bach lol.

Then you blend Mozart, jc Bach and Haydn and you have Beethoven’s 6th
