  • Hi Guys, In This Video i who we made our own E Bike with Pedal Power and Gears too.
    Features of this electric bike :
    1. A Sway-trike with geared pedalling & electric option
    2. Electric Power
    3. Pedal Power
    4. Sway: power
    5. Sway & turn demo
    6. Turning limiter
    7. Tie-rod
    8. Turn & tilt joint steering knuckles
    9. Sway: Lock options
    10. Speed Gears
    11. 24V Dc motor
    12. Dual Shock Absorb-er
    13. Brake lever
    14. Twin disk brakes
    15. Portable battery
    The e-clip was made entirely in our office as a hands-on exercise of design and prototyping in our small basement workshop. The idea is not to mass produce these but was for us to understand how a sway trike works/feels to ride and share it with others too.
    Though, like everything else we put on d'art of science, we do not patent any invention or design, or file and copyrights, you are free to copy, improve and sell it. Pl do not ask us for any blueprints because we just made some sketches and went straight to the prototyping stage. however, if someone would like to buy the prototype to refine and produce it, please write to me deepak@designintervention.biz
    the team that worked under my creative direction for e-clip:
    Aman Choudhary - NID Transport Design PG, Lead Designer and Engineer
    Ajay Yadav - Model-maker and problem solver
    Brendon Cardozo - Fabricator
    Chirayu Pancholi - Design support and Manager
    The set-up video was shot by Ravi Popat
    Full video by Pratik Dagaonkar
    Thanks to many others from the team who also played other roles in the run-up to the completion of e-clip

      saw the mail. actually its not sold, i realised what we make is unsellable because they are first level prototypes. to make it sellable and safe, one would need to make 1 or even 2 more prototypes to sort out the issues that one finds in the first one. since my aim is only to experiment, not point going further than the first. we end up cannibalising the parts for the other experiments. thanks

    • @dartofscience
      @dartofscience  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank for the positive words. There are two level below where i locked the sway. the bottom most is the pivot. and the middle one that you asked about it the sway limiter. for that we put a bolt and a sleeve around the bolt so that if we wanted to keep the sway less then we use a thicker sleeve and if we want the sway to be more then we use a thinner sleeve. hope this clears your doubt. do check the video again from this perspective.

      This is a proto of what we designed here and made it in our workshop. willing to sell it and the buyer can use to to refine the issues by making another prototype and also could patent this design. I can sell the design rights (we havent filed any patents) and the proto for 9Lakhs INR or $13,500/USD. Do remember, the price would be about 1/10th per piece if we were selling these units, but here im selling the idea/design+proto....so thinking it might be a fair price, because it will help us fund the next one...a 4 seater pedal powered/electric assist car...:)

    It’s probably better to have 4 wheels haha or I think the 2 wheels should be in the back so that 1 wheel in front you can steer better and lighter rather than effort

    • @dartofscience
      @dartofscience  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      normally this kind of tadpole trike is made so that the single wheel at the back can be powered easily like a bike, while the two wheels in front can give stability. when you have 2 wheels at the back then you need a differential (makes it heavy) or without differential, there is an issue steering which you can exprience if you try riding a cycle rickshaw

    • @MrRobertFarr
      @MrRobertFarr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two wheels at the front is a fantastic idea.
      The potential advantage for a male rider.
      Is, with the testicles.
      The testicles will. Get hot, on a bicycle. They will hang progressively further from the body unless, the rider might wear tight pants.
      If this cycle works, it has great potential.
      Actually. I am involved with bicycles.
      My father, fixes. Discarded bicycles. For, sale at local charities.
      I am involved with bicycle sales in the United Kingdom where the laws are suffocating.
      Electric bicycles, with pedals. Are legal. And can travel up to 15mph.
      Electric wheelchairs. Up to 4mph miles per hour on, the pavement. 8 mph on the road.
      We, are trials for electric scooters. Where that's two wheels. No pedals.
      I am not The Department of Transport.

      dude..we made it not bought it...and we havent got all the bills together to find out the cost because cost of prototypes is not simple...one has to add the development time and cost of all the attempts that didnt work earlier.

    Please make this into an affordable product for kids. Just the cycle, leave out the electric part. Somewhere around 10k, a lot of people will buy for their kids as reverse trikes are safer than bicycles.

    Looks extremely heavy do to the over engineering. I certainly wouldn't want to pedal this contraption any distance and anything less than 1000watt motor would be a waste of time, move on to the next project.

      dude, it was the first proto without changes.. so generally the rule of thumb IS to over engineer and not under engineer.. i knew the sections we used are much thicker than required, but it was better to use them because we had to do multiple cutting, wleding repositioning and thiner or smaller sections it wouldnt be possible...rest i gues youd know if you do make prototypes that are off your mind and not off the net.
