He can manipulate the air around him. That's how hes stops the bullets from hitting him and how he makes his knives go in any direction he wants.

Diego is so underrated
He fought with Luther who had super strength and still held it down
He can manipulate the movement of sharp objects even bullets
He can throw knifes almost perfectly
He can fight hand to hand, something most members can’t do except 5 and Allison
Klaus fought in veitnam so maybe he has some hand to hand combat experience and Luther knows how to box now.
His official power according to the showrunner is trajectory manipulation. So it's not JUST sharp objects. He can manipulate the trajectory of ANY object already moving through the air.
All of the siblings recived hand to hand combat, but Diego kept training to perfected, Five had a lot more time to practice, and Allison is just cool.

Diego could actually do so much more with his powers but just like rest he is also emotionally wounded, he developed combat skills because he is filled with so much anger and combat is away for him to expel. Number 5 is the only one to fully master his power.

I wonder why they didn't utilize his ability to stop projectiles mid-air in s3. He felt so underwhelming in terms of power this season but character wise, he was brilliant.
Yeah I was wondering if it was just me or did they forget he can DO stuff in s3? Like not just overall combat incompetence but also I'm pretty sure he straight up whiffs a few throws at times? Maybe I need to rewatch but I recall a knife going like, clear over a guardian's shoulder and it wasn't even trying to avoid it.
Look I love that he's a dumbass and probably doesn't know how to use his abilities to their maximum potential, that part's fine. But at least let my idiot have his one gimmick and do it very well.
@@getschwifty5537 fr I just finished s3 earlier and Lila did a better job using his powers than him lmao. He didn't even have to move the knife. The were throwing it in a straight corridor. Though he did manage to hit the guardian in the eye, it was all still useless.
I think at this point, he should already be using some sort of explosives on his projecticles. His knives were never really enough throughout the entire series. Meanwhile you have Viktor who can just blow everyone away without any sort of drawback on his side, Five doesn't seem to have his blinking limitations that made him vulnerable in s1 and Allison...Well Allison is just too OP now that she can use her powers without using the full phrase lol.
Everyone kinda became too OP except for Luther and Diego who were supposed to be No. 1 and 2.
YES! This video literally reminded me that Diego even had powers. I love s3 for its emotional approach rather than action but at the same time everyone got a power upgrade but him. Klaus got his upgrade through training and Allison through a literal power serge but nothing pushed Deigo this season.
Also I'm still really confused on his ability regardless. After s2, I question how bullets and (sharp?) weapons are even a threat to him. Can he manipulate air? Motion? Inertia? Is it minor telekinesis?
@@jayymorris5285 I think it's any projectile that moves in a straight line. The show is really vague on their powers lmao, I mean what would happen if someone records Allison's rumors and put it on a speaker? Why doesn't Five have limits on his teleport anymore, and before anyone says he got used to it, he had 50 years to practice it in the future and still struggled when he came back. Does Viktor even have a drawback on his abilities? I remember a fight scene where he chose to punch his enemies like dude just blast them away.
And most important of all, how is Luther no. 1?

Five: I think he does still have limits, but keep in mind that the times he had his biggest blocks were very shortly after doing large time jumps. That and I think he just teleported a lot more in season 1.
Viktor: I think he’s just not used to his powers (which makes a lot of season 3 really weird for me). I mean he spent pretty much all his life after the memory wipe powerless, with a couple days of training. Then spent another couple days with his powers back after yet another memory wipe. It probably doesn’t click like it does with everyone else to just use his powers for everything
Luther: Hargreeves must have a thing for making the physically strongest #1. Either that or it’s just luck of the draw since I think they mentioned Ben used to be #1 in the sparrows
have you noticed that when they were scattered through time, diego landed on his feet smoothly, and the scene where he knows where luther is hiding
Yeah, I've read that his powers give him catlike abilities so he's also very graceful

i like the fact that mr hargreeves always tried to contain his kids powers. he is smarter than anyone notices and probably knows the full extent of the kids powers. he medicated the shit out of viktor, alison never knew she didnt need to wisper " i heard a rumor" and klaus... klaus never knew he could be posseced by spirits, give spirits a fisical form or resurect from the dead. for god sake luther kills klaus in season 1, klaus talks to him on the afterlife, and even there he doest tell him he can resurect. imagin what diegos true powers are? maybe he can actually move objects insted of trajectory manipulation.
Allison only managed to upgrade her power because she was standing in the circle when Harlan gave his powers to Viktor, and so some of it went to Allison. She said so herself that it was a little gift from Harlan.

@@insight1239 five never explored fully his abilities. He was able to time travel but messed it up, only after he talked to reginald again was be able to reverse time and slowlly fast travel.
We can also say klaus resurected multiple times as a kid, even during season 1 when he was " knocked out" by luther. But now he revives imidiatlly and consciouslly. Reg knew this power of his after talking with him for some hours, i can imagin the original reginald always knew, but never said anithing to him, because that woild be bad for himself
My idea is that reginald wanted a team as a sacrifice, they need to be strong enough to survive the guardians but not actually pose any treat to him. He could have adopted 43 kids, but only adopted 7 because there couldnt be any left over to stop him. Thats why he killed klaus and Luther

The scene where Diego dodged all the bullets to make them hit eachother was perfectly hinted
I'm disappointed that we didn't get to see Diego's power explored this season. We got to see Klaus power grow but Diego and Five.
Hopefully the next season when they all get their powers back, he will realize what he can actually do. He seemed surprised by his ability to stop and turn the bullets in season 2. Maybe Reginald didn't tell the kids their true powers when they were growing up.
@@jessicaHcat oh he did not. It was confirmed this season. When Hargreeves went on the road trip with Klaus. He himself admitted that, the other version of him, probably prevented them from discovering their full potential, in other to control them. We saw Allison and Klaus show way more potential than we thought possible.

@@kira-zk6op No Diego you keep going and avenge Patch. Detective Theodora Patch who meant something to him. ChaCha killed Patch but Hazel was involved so technically he's guilty too. Diego beats down Hazel and ties him up and tortures him to give up ChaCha then he takes Diego to ChaCha then gets his revenge then lets Hazel go.
This would be an alternative scene if Five hadn't knocked Diego out.
Diego is my favorite character. Strong, cute, adorable and fierce. But the best scene is with him. I really love him.

@@juansinaga6470 It might seem like it because of the tentacles, but in the comics, Diego's code name is Kraken because his super power is that he can hold his breath indefinitely. In the show, his power is to manipulate projectiles. It's not the only power they changed in the show; Klaus doesn't have his telekinesis.
In the comics, I think Ben's name was the Horror?

I'd also like to add on to your comment that in the comics, Diego was just REALLY good at throwing knives, like a talent and nothing more than that. Also another thing was that Reginald actually questioned his use in the comics because of how useless his indefinite breathe holding ability was.

He could honestly be one of the most overpowered characters if he implemented some kinda gun play/use. Idk how many of you all have seen Daredevil but bullseye was able to turn anything he saw into a throwable and accurate weapon. With his powers, Diego could honestly do the same thing since he can manipulate object motion. Really hope they showcase something like this in the coming seasons

Just like Klaus' telekinesis and levitation.....it was sadly cut from the original pilot script. So there's no confirmation that EITHER of them have those powers in the actual series.

I think Diego cannot really do telekinesis, but to me he's "just" controling the trajectories
The showrunner confirmed that his official power is trajectory manipulation. So he can't move or lift things that are sitting still but he CAN control how ANY object (not just weapons) flies through the air!

If you watch To art Majutsu no index... there is a guy in the show that controls anything with trajectory and it is the number 1 strongest esper user
Just google “Accelerator power” and it will tell you it is vector power
Pretty much what we saw at the end was him using that
Anything created or made with a direction is a vector
At first Diego only was able to control vectors he created
Such a throwing knives or objects
But as we saw at the end he coby rolled the vector of bullets shot at him and move them in a different path
If he trains enough he can manipulate wind currents, water currents and even the flow of blood or earthquakes
Since earthquakes are also a vector they originate from a single point and expand from it

I'm pretty sure all he does is controlling the trajectory, he can't increase the knife's speed/kinetic energy.
Also yes he is strong, but the thing is he is outclassed because others have powers that are pretty meta and somehow are stronger than his (mainly thinking about Allison with lowkey Reality Warping and Vanya who's, well, really OP when it comes to damage)

@@marethyu_77gamer93 His power is probably best described as vector manipulation, and his knives always accelerate after he throws them, If he trains enough he probably could have the strongest defense because everything is in motion so he could repel anything, a punch, a bullet, a noise like literally everything needs to move and if he can control what's moving he just needs to be more creative.
He went from my least favorite sibling to arguably the one I love the most. I only wish he didn’t end up with Lila.

I like to think the reason Diego didn’t use his powers as well as he could was because of all the emotional stuff he was going through.
He was always insecure, but they really dumb him down on season 2. Dude was practically Batman.

His powers were definitely given an upgrade in comparison to the comic, which by the way, was just that he could hold his breath indefinitely which is useful in certain situations but not as good as trajectory manipulation

Diego’s power is cool asf he just doesn’t use it to its full extent if he was really strong in his power he could stop an asteroid from coming to earth
He's not the strongest but he made himself very strong by mastering combat which i enjoy.

I used to be annoyed with the amount of times the characters definitely should’ve gotten shot but managed to miss all the bullets but now I feel like Diego is just always subtlety redirecting all the bullets
I think Diego's trajectory manipulation can be used like Accelarator's vector control. Trajectories are vectors. If he thinks about it he can do almost anything he just needs more creativity. Using his own body's trajectory he can be able to fly and do a whole lot more.

Trajectory manipulation is cool, but I honestly wish there was more to it. Like theoretically, he should be able to manipulate anything that is moving. Knowing how to fight isn't a power...
It was shown that Reginald didn't train them to their full potential because he didn't want them to overrule him like the Sparrows did, so I guess that could be a reason.

I always thought that he was just good at throwing knives, until I saw the scene where he manipulated the bullets. Therefore, I guess his powers are more like trajectory manipulation of some sort, which only makes him more interesting and cool.

The fact that he could beat Alphonso who inflicts the pain you inflict on him and got hit by the Samurai in the finale but was still on his feet, yeah he has an extremely high tolerance to pain. But it's not a power, he just got used to it after fighting for years.
His powers did not really showcase in S3 💀

Not telekinesis, it's simply an abrupt acceleration towards the other direction induced by an outrageous change in trajectory.(You can infer such from the bullets slightly changing direction when perceived as if it stopped)

The last part is not telekinesis, for me it's still "Trajectory Manipulation". He can manipulate the trajectory of anything he throws and he was also capable of manipulating things in motion such as bullets that are being shot at him

In the comic Diego’s power isn’t trajectory manipulation it’s just something he learned, his real power is that he can hold his breath indefinitely. That’s why his boxing name is the kraken because he doesn’t have to take a breath.

For a guy with projectile based powers he sure gets into close combat encounters way more often
From what ive seen on the show he has kinetic energy control meaning anything in motion he can stop, redirect, or accelerate which is pretty fucking OP
After watching season 3, diego's super power is completly unrecon or mentioned anymore. I thought he can stop bullet in season 2?
Idk if it’s telekinesis or if it’s just weapons manipulation, because it’s bullets he can divert them but if someone threw a car at him I doubt he’d be able to change its trajectory
Manipulating weapons with your mind is still telekinesis but I get what you mean.
The showrunner officially confirmed that his power is trajectory manipulation so it's more specific than telekinesis (he can't move or lift things that are sitting still) but it's more general than weapons manipulation (he can control ANY object flying through the air). So yeah, he absolutely COULD stop a car from hitting him if...let's say...Luther threw one at him. I would actually REALLY love to see them go back to the lunar apocalypse at some point and have him chuck the moon back into outer space!!!!! It would be a great homage to Klaus stopping the moon with his telekinesis in the comics!!!!
