Honestly speaking, I'm glad that there won't be a reboot. It just wouldn't be the same in today's society, and I am willing to bet if the Wayans do get back together to do it, network executives will limit their creativity, like in the past, unless it becomes available on a streaming app. Even if that were to happen, I'm doubling down on the way society is now, that'll hinder its success.
Damon Wayans went Hollywood in a blockbuster movie called Mo' money with Starring cast member Stacy Dash and another blockbuster the last Boyscoot with Bruce Willis
Pretty much, Damon was ready to start his movie career and he felt he went as far as he wanted to on In Living Color. Aside from Damon's money negotiations, the Keenen vs. FOX shit, and etc. Damon wanted to make the transition to be a full time movie guy by 1992 (if not 1991) and he did it by leaving the show.

I wonder if the "they" are the ones that the artist now known as YE has recently referred to. The ones that own and run the music and movie / TV industry. Because the rest of us don't care about skin tone.
@@HailRiderI appreciate your candor & if you’re an American 🇺🇸 Citizen from birth or not, all you have to do to get a BASIC understanding is to do a little research about the American Entertainment Industry, from Sports, Television, Movies, Theatre, Music & more & you will definitely understand who “THEY” are. And the MOST DISTURBING factor concerning “they/them” is that it appears that there’s NO STOPPING THEM!!! So, if there really is a GOD, I guess they will have to answer for all THEIR SHIIIIIT when they appear before GOD!!!
@@7777Lace reckon so!
Damon is my favorite Wayans. Although most of his movies was panned critically and flopped commercially it was still classics. I can’t wait to see the New show he got coming out with his Son Damon JR
The thumbnail makes want too watch the last boy Scout classic 🎥😁👍🏾💪🏾
Fox didn't mind taking a big loss as long as there were no Black people in full creative control. Comedy Central did the same thing with Dave Chappelle.
So true about the magic being gone after they left...those last few seasons are unwatchable..
I feel ya but it helped Jamie Foxx, he became the main attraction.
@@barrettlovett2238 That's true, but Jamie was a part of a terrible cast and bad skits..the only thing I remember about him are the Wanda skits, and only the first was funny, but it did launch his career. Living Colors first 4 seasons are memorable and funniest...
@@edreid7872 Season 5 sucked
3:09 Edit.
It's Richard Gere pronounced
(gear) like bikes or cars switching gears.
Albeit ironic;
( for those that get the irony)
that
it's not Richard Gere pronounced (jeer).
COMEDY HYPE LOVE EACH OTHER
and your audience, enough to correct!
Did he say the Boss of Fox was Benito Mussolini??
Yes lol. This video is riddled with errors.
I love the Wayans and I used to love the show. Thank you for sharing this video
Rosanne had some help leaving.
Roseanne didn't quit she got fired
Remember when the last few episodes of In Living Color had Chris Rock as "Special Guest Star" and he did his character from I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. He left SNL to replace Keenan as executive producer; but before he could take over, Fox cancelled they show and left Rock high and dry.
Good lord(Rock voice) Fox is full of crap
All have to START somewhere.
You are just reading a script. You didn’t research this.
Keenen Ivory Wayans had some issues with fox as well.
Way better and funnier than SNL
I love these. Its the history We lived but didnt know about! These networks got big off the back of our people but didnt want to pay!!! Pull yourself up by your bootstraps huh smh
Great Video!
I’m blessed to have been a tv audience member during this great body of work! The Wayans showed black excellence and unity!! But the industry is about squeezing every dollar and creative thought! It’s always a struggle, no matter the level!!💯🔥✊🏾🙋🏾♀️❤️
Most of Damon Wayan characters were the funniest and most iconic. When he was paired with David Allen Grier made it even more hilarious.
It was crazy how everybody got famous from this show.
You guys need to make your own show!!’ We can’t wait for it!!!🎉❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
You mean Richard (gear)
Please have someone go over the narrator's work before y'all export the videos. The mispronunciations are getting a little embarrassing now 🤦🏾♂️. But keep up the great content!
He even said Benito Mussolini worked at Fox lol
Tyler perry much respect to him for having his own studio, he just need to bring in different writers
A living color was a groundbreaking comedies comedy show that was way ahead of it's time
4:26 This is a LIE. Damon Wayans had a short lived show called “Damon”. In the opening theme of the show sung by Erykah Badu there’s a line, “This Damon show, this not yo show”. It was a rivalry. Sometimes you don’t get all the talent Keenan. There’s like 30 of y’all.
Richard Jerr?? C'mon man. If want to be reputable, get the pronunciations right.
I remember when I was a kid & used to watch this show. As I got older I understand that things comes to an end at some point & it's best to let it rest. It's a good thing they didn't do a reboot. Especially with the world today, they would really ban it.
What a beautiful and talented family! All of them! Kim was hilarious too!….what happened to her?……. I admired their bond! I was jealous of it……..they changed TV back in the day!…..I still quote my favorite sketches from The Funky Finger Production! 🤣🤣🤣📺👊🏻
The last boy scout was an amazing movie!
Fox did a lot under cutting of black shows in the 90s. A lot of these show built up the network and they quickly discarded them like garbage.
Although it sucked that In Living Color went off the air cause it was funny as hell. But without the Wayans and FOX it fell off. U know they watered it down. And even they talked about rebooting it cause I like reboots, I’m glad they ain’t do it to ILC because it wouldn’t be as funny as the original was. Plus living in this cancel culture the show wouldn’t last long because people these are just too damn sensitive about everything. God forbid u say something wrong that could offend people then it’s wrap for you. They taking away your career. If you want it back then u have to issue an apology for saying what you said. Back then comedians said and did whatever they wanted and were unapologetic for it lol
It’s a shame the ILC didn’t have movies based on certain characters SNL did.
Wait, so the boss of Fox was named Benito Mussolini? lololol
No. I don't know where he got that from lol
He's trying to see if we're actually listening. LOL
Shout out to yall for making my day
I swear Comedy Hype hires nothig but young kids to read these stories. How you pronounce Richard Gere name wrong? This like the 20th time I'm noticing the person reading the story mispronounce something clearly showing their age. Step it up Comedy Hype. Stop just hiring young kids that wasn't even around for In Living Color to report these stories. Get someone of age.
FOX stayed jerking the Wayans around... SMDH. I's a damn shame "in Living Color" was a cold classic...🙌🏿🙌🏿✊🏿✊🏿
FOX used black shows for ratings. Once the got their ratings, they dropped the shows
FOX used black shows for ratings. Once the got their ratings, they dropped the shows
Richard Jeer was not gay. Neither was Richard Gere...with a G.
Richard Gere( Gear) ! Lmao
The only ones offended by anything on this show are the same people who take everything personally and made Satan their daddy. This show was a work of art, and funny as hell! I laughed every time I watched this show, and I was just a little boy watching it! I still laugh at the clips today! There will never be another like it.
He started doing movies....🤷♂️
They ALWAYS gotta get in "Our" mix a "F" up EVERYTHING!!!! 😡
The hate was real in living color was the truth as a kid growing up and as I got older to understand the jokes just great work
Just imagine if ILC was on a cable program instead of Fox. Less censorship, less limitations. Dear Lord that show would have been epic!!
Charelston white could do the new major Payne 😆
Richard jear?
7:05 Benito Mussolini was a boss at Fox? You sure about that?
Damon Wayans Quit in living color to start his movie career.
Can you do why Did Fresh Prince of Bel Air Ended
I wonder what SNL would be like if Lorne Michaels kept Damon Wayne on the show?????
This video was very well narrated, and produced.
Men on Film...classic
I wonder how much the Friends reunion cast got paid?
good question
Damon Wayans went Hollywood in a blockbuster movie called Mo' money with Starring cast member Stacy Dash and another blockbuster the last Boyscoot with Bruce Willis
proof that if you stay solid you will always float.
Hollywood really did screw over the Wayans family. That's why the last 3 Scary Movie films sucked.
The show was funny for it's time. Let it go. There's no reason to bring it back.
Thanks for the backstory! I never knew this, Damon, Keenan, and I had the same lawyer. I do know, they own no part of “In Living Color”. Gold and YT made lots of money off the Wayans Brothers sweat and they didn't see a dime of it! @MaxxJerome
That's such a shame smh.
Fox has a tendency of undermining the show stars that kept their network afloat in the 90s. They also disregarded the requests made by lead actors of New York Undercover.
You know, it be really fun to see Dave Chapelle doing a new show with Damon Wayans, the same way that he used Charlie Murphy. Of course you’d have to be uncensored no doubt, but those two together would kill.
In Living colors is like watching your family members tell a story of when they were kids.
Sounds exactly like what happened to Chappelle's show.
Talk about Damon's Underground show in Showtime
