      Most brush guards are inadequate for deer but a company in Montana makes one called Buckstop that works and generally lets you keep driving. Check them out. Pricey, but cheaper that rebuilding the front end of your engine bay.

    PSA : Just a reminder to road crews (no matter what you’re doing on the side of the), Make eye contact with traffic driving by! People driving by do not know what you are doing unless you acknowledge that you know they are there. The speed of the drivers going by is part of reason why road side workers get hit. The other part is that neither knows what the other is doing. When I go by, I assume the worker is going to step or fall right in front of me. Complacency kills!
    Thanks for being a pretty good guy Casey!

    • @ericcastle380
      @ericcastle380 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      As a man who stops traffic for a living, trust me when I say this doesn't work. A roadside worker can only make eye contact with a driver if and only if that Driver is observant. It isn't the speed that kills us, it's the inattentiveness of motorists. And if you continually keep eyes on drivers, you can't get the job done. It's a lose-lose situation. A roadside worker, a tow truck driver, a police officer, a fireman, a flagger we all have to be vigilant and expect that every driver has their face buried in their phone. It's the only way to survive.

However, if you are rigging to a sling of non metal material a turning moment can exist tightening the pin so as to make it so tight that a podger is required to undo the pin. In both cases, it has no bearing on the strength of the shackle: just the ability to undo it by hand after the lift

      I’ve come close a lot of times, but the only deer I’ve hit was on a motorbike. Is guess it technically hit my bike. It kinda changed its mind mid-air, whipped its head back around, base-slid into my front wheel and snatched the bike right out from under me. All 3 of us were pretty beat up, but managed to walk/ride away with mostly “cosmetic” damage. I’ve spent a bit of time thinking about what I should have done, but a lot more thinking about how much worse it could have gone.

    High school. Lady speech coach driving us to another school in her Citation. Grabs my knee, tries to shift to 4th. “miss Cassidy REALLY”. We dang near wrecked. I think not telling for +60 years long enough.
