    I just added a vortech v3 centrifugal supercharger to my Sniper injected 1990 K2500. It's unreal. I definitely recommend one! I'm at 9.17:1 static compression on a 355 sbc. I've got trick flow heads and a small comp roller cam. It gives me around 8psi at 5500. Your stroker will run a little less boost with the same pulleys. I'm out of injector so I run a rev limiter at 5252rpms to stay safe. I've got 400lbs/hr of injector with my sniper tbi system. I don't recall how much your Edelbrock system has, but it's enough for a lot of fun with a supercharger!

    • @EricErnst
      @EricErnst 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I switched to 0w-40 Mobil1 motor oil when I added the supercharger for a little better protection under the higher power. Before, I'd used 5w-30 Royal Purple. I couldn't find any 0w-40 RP on the shelf.

    One thing that, and this may sound weird, makes an engine sound healthy to me, is when you let off the gas, the fuel cuts and you can just listen to the mechanical sounds the engine makes, including the little metallic "wirrrr" noise of the pistons in the block(most notably on dynos).
    I gotta say Eric, that this one sounds right, no weird noises when you let of the gas or accelerate, smooth sound of the acceleration.
    I'd say bump up the timing in stages and "feel" it out a little.
    Some people ask why we spend months under the hood or the amount of money we spend on some of our cars, well, 17:45 and onward is why, exactly why.

    Much better piston selection I see you got away from the hyper technic pistons... it’s really too bad your Machinist zero decked your block anyway it’s done and over... I would still pull out the PCV valve while the engine is running make sure no oil is splashing up I don’t trust that little valve cover baffle inside... Pretty good Eye you saw the sharp threads inside the combustion chamber....I like to see that you actually went out there and hammered it I do the same thing if it’s going to hold it’s going to hold.. well now you have an excuse to put a supercharger on there one day good job Eric .

    Man this video really made me happy. I finally finished assembly of my engine and I'm ready to drop it in. Its been about 2 months since I last drove my camaro and I'm really exited about the first start but very nervous at the same time.

    Great to see that you have the problem solved. It makes you sick when you put so much effort into something you care about and it isnt right afterwards. I found this out firsthand on an old truck I am trying to fix, that was originally my wife's grandfather's truck. I cant figure out what's wrong and it's really discouraging. I'm sure time and money could solve it but dont have much of either right now.
