Considering the future knowledge we have now, this wasn't done on a whim, it was foreshadowing...

Volo being a main villain in PLA made me look cynthia in a different light.
Cynthia is pretty much the resolvement between the relationship between Giratina and her bloodline. Giratina was made with Arecus so it caused trouble throwing noble pokemon into a frenzy and teamed up with Volo to disrupt the balance, including putting it's sibling into a frenzy. Volo wanted to use Giratina to get close to Arecus, capture it and create a new world. Cynthia is the polar opposite. While she is curious like her ancestor, she wants to protect the world when she tried to stop Cyrus. Which explains why in Platinum Giratina interfered with Cyrus's plan...which also means Platinum is the true timeline in all of the timelines including and excluding mega evolutions.
Why? Cynthia isn’t evil like Volo.

Heck, they even have difference aces despite having similar teams: Cynthia's ace is her Garchomp while Volo's is his Togekiss.
Compare to Ingo, who keeps his gender and the same personality, albeit somewhat watered down by his amnesia.

So with Legends out, we can safely say that Cynthia always had a Giratina.
I always find her champion theme a little off.
In Platinum I think she is the first who jumped in and already knew the path in the distortion world, and she also commented how Giratina wanted to test the player strength… how odd I wonder if Cynthia having a Giratina was always planned.
Now imagine if Giratina was on her Champion team in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl.
Now this is how you spark PTSD from a timeline that doesn't exist. Just hearing this in the context of "evil cynthia" is enough to strike fear in any seasoned pokemon player

The 'Approaching Cynthia' etude is probably my favorite piece of Pokemon music, so it's really cool to hear it remixed into an actual battle theme. It's a bit heavy-handed at points, but it definitely manages to ge the blood pumping.

I love that the Volo plot reveal made Cynthia even more loved than before, and scary. Seriously NOW THERE IS TWO OF THEM, that makes two GARCHOMP AND TWO TOGEKISS and now Giratina ...
Just imagine this : this year we get a BDSP DLC about Cynthia on her quest for GOD and some weird immortal merchant named Volo appear, and then GF, loving us, makes a full animated episode of a fight between thos two ending with GOD appearing in the middle.
Volo and Cynthia are now hand down the best characters in the franchise, and Arceus made Sinnoh the best region.
Well Gen 9 is now an announced thing for late 2022

This is actually a clever reference to the fact that the faster you try and and run from this fight, the closer she gets, and you know exactly what will happen when she catches you, because it already happened

I love how they made Cynthia's theme no only more epic but also made it sound in some bits like Giratinas battle theme. Also the foreshadowing for certain battle on Legends Arceus
I come to the top of Mt. Silver, expecting a certain someone to be waiting, I envision him, charizard at the ready, but instead I see a familiar blonde haired face staring straight at me like it was possessed by some ghost type pokemon, but she wasn’t possesed at all, it was a look of pure malice, I now realize who stares me down.
“Cynthia?, I expected Red up here but you, yikes, and also, I am liking the new dress, suits you.”
Cynthia: “you are a fool for coming here, child, for I have the might of a god on my side that you could never even hope to damage”. She holds out a master ball, containing what I presume to be this “god”, when the ball bursts open and reveals what is inside, a Giratina, cloaked in the shadows of its home world.
“How, how did you manage to control a god”
Cynthia: “it’s really simple, child, all you have to do is use the right tools, and they’ll come to you.”
“I see, but you won’t even have enough strength, TO CONQUER DEATH ITSELF” I say as I grip a master ball in my hand. “Yveltal, come forth, AND STRIKE HER DOWN”, are the last words I speak before the deadliest battle for the fate of the Pokémon world, begins.
Cynthia is not evil but the way she battles is downright sinister. Now I see who she takes after.

This was spoilers for the final battle of legends arceus and we didn't even know it yet
Cynthia with this dress looks like Persephone, Queen of Hell, ordering her pet to eat you. But Cynthia's pet isn't a giant 3-headed dog, it's a freacking snake-demon, god of antimatter and ruler of a parallel world, known to have been banished by the Creator itself because of its violence, and is able to 1v2 the gods of space and time.
If this was Cynthia’s encounter music in BDSP... This would make her even more terrifying than she already is.
I wish I would agree, but the tone the Battle Version is very different than what BDSP had. This version is too energetic to used in an actual encounter that preludes to the Champion Battle.

I love how this outfit and the fact they chose to remix her pre-battle theme show her fancy/elegant side of Cynthia. Her original battle theme is great but felt more like a energetic girly theme for her. This captures her personality more accurately in my opinion. 0:44 - 0:58 They did keep the bone chilling part of her original battle song here though. Nice touch.
Personally, I didn't get an energetic girly vibe from her original themes, I got a classical, elegant, intimating vibe from it and I think it was a perfect representation of Cynthia since she's super powerful but also super educated and nice.
And to be clear, I like this remix but I don't think it's really captures Cynthia personality. This theme feels raw, scary, and borderline evil. It sounds like it could be the theme of a hunted house and Cynthia is the sadistic ghost at the center of it all. Cynthia is super powerful and skilled, but she's not evil or frighting in a horror sort of way. This song fits Garitina and this version of Cynthia who is associated with Garitina, but it doesn't fit the standard Cynthia. But those are just my opinions on the remix and original theme.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi A lot of her song beats are very energetic to me (Or classical since her theme is more along the lines of hip hop form of music) and the raw/scary part of song only seems to be the segment of the remix that ironically comes from her original battle theme too.

@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi well probably because this is her encounter theme turned into a battle theme? it obviously won't be the same thing since masters always give their touch in the original themes, cynthia's other theme is focused on her original battle theme wich is frantic in the main games but extremely elegant and calm in the masters
