No, once you make this change you will lose access to old cases through the DentalDB. It is very hard (I wouldn't know where to beging) to join 2 databases.
I am not sure, as making changes to exoplan (which is considered a medical device) is discouraged by exocad because of FDA. I suppose you can try, but I wouldn't.

Its possible to open old projects if you go to CAD-Data and copy and paste te DENTALDB_V3 file to the new folder.
