    I’ve had the Push 3 for a couple of weeks now and I freaking love it! BTW: there is an easy way to stay in the current samples folder when setting up your drum rack: just duplicate a pad and then hot swap the sample of the duplicated pad. That way you stay in the same folder as the sample that’s currently on the pad. Great video as always, by the way!

    Duuude!! You absolutely killed it with this video, every element. Love the workflow, love the jams. I’ve had my push 3 for a bit over a month now and it’s definitely taking over my musical world. Definitely needs some features added but it’s a pretty impressive entry into the DAWless world

    Oh man… using Push as a live interface/fx processor sounds like an absolutely mad idea. I’ve been building a guitar pedal board with looping, fx, vocal fx and synth. This theoretically could do it all!

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it’s perfect for that use case. especially with the broad range of audio effects + m4L

    • @RJ_Eckie
      @RJ_Eckie ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been starting to work out some songs in Live with stock & M4L devices and the possibilities for guitar are absolutely mad just looking at the space effects and textures alone. Getting this level of depth and flexibility would be impossible with pedals. One big issue I'm running into is live pitch shifting for vocal pads and vocal harmonies, which my Boss VE-500 does quite well - it even accepts external midi so you can live play your pitch shifted harmonies. I'm not finding any real-time pitch shifting devices - only delays. (PitchLoop89, Pitch Hack) They accept automation/midi for semitone pitch offset, which is okay for some situations but not as intuitive by far as sending straight midi pitches.
      In practice this would mean I'd still have to bring my VE-500. Any suggestions for real-time pitch shifting if you have them would be greatly appreciated!

    I've already grown pretty comfortable editing the majority of my midi with Push 2 and not even using mouse or keyboard. It actually keeps me in the zone when I do that. I edit mostly using the step sequencer and nudge/adjust what I need. This jog wheel would be really useful. I actually prefer not having a touch screen.

    Hey, excellent video!
    I was wondering, and sorry if this is an obvious question, but how do you think about playing notes on the Push? Are you setting it up in the In Key mode, or you just know which notes to play naturally?
    I always have a hard time of intuitively playing the notes I want to on the Push, and end up playing some off-sounding notes before I figure out which of the notes sounds good in the context of the song.
    Do you have any advice on how to approach getting better at intuitively playing notes and chords? Thanks!!!

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been using push since version 1 and other grid instruments like launchpads as well.
      the default note layout is in-key, and by 4ths. I find this to be really ergonomic, and it's quite easy to play triads in a triangle formation. easy to see the 7th's from there too.
      Like any instrument, it takes practice to learn. I'd approach it like a traditional instrument, and practice some scales or melodies on the push. You'll get more proficient over time!

    Hello😊😊
    Perfect video demonstration of this music making tool and your ambient music making is gorgeous.
    And I want to ask, where did you buy "Ableton push 3" please? And how much did it cost you? Is it this? Push (standalone)
    Use Push as a standalone instrument
    EUR 1899
    64 expressive pads
    Built-in audio interface
    Intel 11th Gen Core™ i3-1115G4 processor with 8GB of RAM
    Built-in lithium battery with up to 2.5 hours play time
    Built-in 256GB SSD hard drive
    Or is this also enough, but here the foundation probably only works with a computer? If I understand it correctly?
    Push
    Connect Push to your computer
    EUR 949
    64 expressive pads
    Built-in audio interface
    Add a processor, battery and hard drive later using the Upgrade Kit
    Thank you for the answer and I like to follow you. I also play live on various instruments and then mix it through the Boss rc 505 looper, but here Ableton would probably suit me better for my games.❤

    Does the gear define the genera? I sometimes wonder if technology hasn't always defined what we perceive as music. From the earliest instruments to our present-day marvels. I wonder to what extent we are hamstrung by the technology. For all the promises of Live and Push, it can make you lazy, trapped in the loop. Caught, stunned, stunted never really evolving.

    • @Taetro

      if you think music hasn’t evolved and great music hasn’t been made with new technology over recent decades, you simply haven’t been paying attention.

      @@Taetro Im not saying great music isn't out there to be found, anymore than i saying there aren't great musicians out there. There will always be great musicians. What am saying is that technology these days makes it too easy to dial in a sound or a production archetype, its too easy to stay within those limits. The innovators aren't controlled by their controls, they'll find ways to express what they first conceived as an effort of mind and will, and not as fluke and chance. I'm sure there are real artists out there, but they exist in spite of , not because of our systems of rewards.

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  ปีที่แล้ว

      i agree this exist in spite of the reward system of social media and the music industry - but many great artists exist as a result of the access to high quality production and tools (technology) so not in spite of technology certainly which is what I thought was your initial point.
      we have to look at how we value these artists and support them so they can sustain careers.

    you went from a stereo output (the lemondrop) to a balanced mono input on the push which would have given you some phase issues on that mono input. you should have used a 1/8" mini stereo y cable that went to two unbalanced 1/4" ts.

      @@Taetro totally understand but just be careful since you went stereo out into a balanced input. a balanced input takes one of the signals it expects to be 90 degrees out of phase...when it's actually a second channel of a stereo output you'll run into phase cancelation

    I love my Push 2 but I'll bet that the reality of the Push 3 is that you couldn't read anything on the screen while you were using it out in the open. Screens on pro audio gear, even the mobile ones, are notoriously lackluster when it comes to brightness and contrast. I have an MPC Live 2 because there wasn't a Push 3 at the time and even on that device I have to use the cover of a hardcase to protect it from too much daylight when I am using it outside.

    What is well hidden in the, obviously nice made video, congrats to that, is that the standalone version completly misses the Arrangement part to simply make a complete Song with the standalone.. it´s great for sketching but you still need the computer. It would have been the thing to make it shine as a real standalone, and then worth the heavy heavy price.

      I hope they’ll add more arrangement capabilities in the future. I’m getting along fine using it with session mode then transferring to my computer. For me it’s a great workflow.

    Hey bro, I'm from India. Wanna start distribution with Routenote(free plan). Is Routenote reliable in terms of royalties/streams and customer support. Please help. Wanna know how trustable they are in 2023. Would you suggest anything else...

    • @Taetro
      @Taetro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used Distrokid as long as ive been releasing music so that would be my recommendation.
      Also ideally there should be no need for customer support with your distributor - usually people blame their distributor for mistakes they've made, or issues that have to do with specific platforms. Your earnings will be relatively the same at each distributor (idk what these free models take, but probably more than paid) and to look at it realistically, if you're just starting out, the revenue isn't going to be anything meaningful until you build an audience.
      so my advice is, just pick a distributor with good reviews, and that people (artists you've heard of) actually use, and get some music out there
