I'll say this before anything. I'm PVU alumni and a grad from Worthing HS. The following is only my opinion. I didn't know what to expect at first. I had hope for my Green and Gold. But when Royal not only went for the "judge pleaser" (playing PV tunes) but doing it in such a controlled fashion, I knew they were going to be on top by the twelve minute mark. They were in tune, didn't do anything [too] fancy, and didn't try to outplay or out-blow each other. Most importantly, they knew their music. A very good music program there. Good job. I'd give second place to.... Sterling, with Yates in third but almost tying for 2nd. Fourth place is Worthing. I felt they should have been better. Attacks and knowing the music was the main issues. Last was Leadership. (Sigh.) They really need to understand how to play 'together' and not as 'individuals in a band'. Again, I feel they can be much better.
