    Dude, this is an AMAZING build. I elected to go with a Snap Treehouse instead of an AT, but I’m definitely going to try and steal some of your ideas!

    Very nice, mine is much simpler. I wish I had a long box. I ended up tearing out my rear seat and setting up a kitchen and storage area.

    Looks like the start of a very well thought out build. Looking forward to future videos and its completion.
    Thank you for sharing and taking us along during your build.

    Awesome build out! I'm building a topper from scratch out of 8020 and am looking for ideas on how to do the interior. This helped a lot! Thank you 👍

    Great start.
    Kinda hoping to see an update soon. More info on the water tank & -pump install the shower & water heater.
    I'm still trying to decide between the Alucabin, the AT Atlas, and the AT Habitat. They all have a slightly different Pros vs Con's lists. For example, the Habitat has the most room but is the most time-consuming to set up. The Alucabin is the quickest setup, and if you either carry enough weight or are heavy enough - the quickest to pack up. I also really like the door system. The Atlas is fast and easy. I can use the roof as a shooting platform, and it will support me, my cameras & tripod. The Atlas will as well. The downside to the Habitat is you lose the ability to keep your solar active when deployed (although I've some notions about that issue).

      There's an update coming! Build is done and has been getting use for a while now. Stay tuned! After some long term use now, I do have a list of things I'd rather have - and the entry / exit of a step up door is #1 on my list.

    I watched your first video a while back, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for more of your camper build. I don’t remember if you commented or not in that video about using your goose neck hitch hole for a drain or not. However that’s exactly what I’m planning on using for my shower drain. However I was thinking of a round pan like those used for water heaters with a cone mounted and a hose through the hole of the bed.
    I do know that you had also commented about your mattress not being so good. Like yourself with my back issues I need to figure out what to use that’ll fit in the space provided.
    Great job so far with your build!

    Great to see someone building out an at atlas. I have one on a Colorado and I’m just starting to do the layout plans. Hoping you can answer a question or two?
    What tools etc. did you use when cutting thru the walls/ceiling to minimize sandwich core damage and interior carpet fraying?
    Did you fill the “drilled” core with an epoxy to stiffen and prevent moisture intrusion?
    Thanks, any input would be helpful; Ed

    • @FirstStateOverland
      @FirstStateOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just a regular hole saw for the sides, taped off of course. I went slow once you're through the aluminum and then I used a razor blade to trim the carpet. All of the pass throughs are sealed with dicor / sikaflex.

    ECO Flow no BS wiring just plug and enjoy

    • @FirstStateOverland
      @FirstStateOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct, the plug and play aspect of something like an ecoflow is nice, you can build a system like I'm doing with the components for half the cost and if a component fails I can just replace that component. Neither is the wrong way, just depends on your skill level and build space.

    Do you hear the canvas flap much with higher winds ? I'm wondering if the noise would keep me up at night

    • @FirstStateOverland
      @FirstStateOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Under VERY heavy winds you get a little noise from the side canvas when it hits the lifting struts but it's really rare. The material is pulled so tight when it's open it takes a lot of force to move it. It has never kept me up at night.

    I have watch your other video.Just wonder what is the cost of the one you have if you donot mind.

    • @FirstStateOverland
      @FirstStateOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The price has changed since I bought mine. It's best to check their website where they list prices and options. www.atoverland.com At the time I purchased mine, with options and tax it was $19,364 for an 8 ft full size truck version. That does not include any of the interior build out I start showing in this video.

      Well, I was waiting on another party to post a walkaround that we filmed about a year ago. But since that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon, I'm going to film an update in three weeks myself at the Mid Atlantic Overland Festival and post it since I'm getting a lot of people to ask. So 3 weeks!
