    Thank you. Michael. I just had work done on my m4 and the gunsmith removed material but didn't put in any 20 or 45 deg angles. :( I have to do that myself now, with the help of this video.

    I hope that you still monitor this video for comments. I plan on doing this work to my M3 thanks to your video. Just a quick question: When you filed with the large flat file, did you file a flat face and THEN filed an angle downards into the receiver?
    Thanks!

    hey Michael. great video. just finished opening up my benelli m4 and it came out awesome thanks to your video. like the the gentleman below my brass seems hang up....but mine seems to be hanging up on the carrier latch. any thoughts on that? modify or get a new latch and hope that solves the problem. ps it does take some force to get the shell pass it. don't know if this is common in benelli

    Did you do anything to the shell catch? I’m getting that dumb benili thumb thingy where I have to jamb my thumb in! So much smoother in the stoeger

    Milling out my M1 tomorrow. I'm going slow. I'm a little afraid to go too far forward toward the barrel. Seen a lot of guys go totally wrong and end up hoping there is a captured follower tube for their shotgun.

      How did it go?

      +michael payne 6pm-midnight shop session. Chewed teeth off a brand new slitting saw. Out of battery reload cut is done. That bugged me in practice to no end. Did a parallel cut bc I'm not solid with quads yet. Reddened up my hand today strong side. I'll do a right side speed cut later. Took time to measure material forward. Table got zeroed and bumped the cutter in by tenths. Hit the zero button after every 10th arrow over and dropped my follower in. Got to a depth that's 1/3 length of a follower nose and stopped. It's a lot of material looking at CAM software journaling the work piece, full of peril with just calipers. It was a good 1st experience. I uploaded 3 short clips. I'll link them in a sec.

    Michael, where did you find the rubber polishing point? Not in stock anywhere local. I'm about to try the weird off brand Amazon bits.

    Michael, any chance I could get you to email me some still photos of your finished product from the different angles? I would like to see exactly how far you took your cuts. I took the first pass on my new M2 tonight and am pretty afraid to go too far in any direction. I went a bit too far on my JM pro and don't want it to happen again. Thanks.

    Who makes the shotgun shell chest plate you have on at the end of the video?

      Carbon Arms my friend. It has been outstanding through many years of use.

    Great video Michael. Plan on performing this mod on my Stoeger M3K this winter. Is the chamfering you speak of on the receiver or does it enter into the magazine tube? I find on the M3K that my shells hang the rim of the brass on what seems to be the receiver ever so slightly. Is this what the chamfering alleviates?

    • @michaelpayne6131
      @michaelpayne6131  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes to both questions. The chamfer guides the tip of the shell and the case extraction rim.

    hi Mr. Michael
    i need your advice for solving a problem in the stoeger 2000 semi-auto 12 gauge
    it shoots to the left, i tried diferrent ammo. i use diferrent chokes but still it shoots to the left
    one of my friend bent the barrel which i think it dangerous way to solve this problem. and this problem is common with owner of stoeger 2000 in my country
    thanks

      Shotguns are all about the fit to the shooter. If it isn't set up for you, it will not shoot where you want it to. If it is shooting to the left, you need to move the stock to the right. The other option is to add a rear sight to the rail, which you can adjust to make the POA=POI.

    Love the video. Any particular reason Benelli doesn't make them this way in the first place. My thumb is alaways under attack when birds are hammering the decoys and I need to feed the gun. This mod would work well even for us hunters.

      Gary Elderman I just purchased an m2 for hunting ducks in salt water and deer and pheasant hunts as well. Do you think with the grinding away would make the metal more pervious to the salt water?

    • @garyelderman8391
      @garyelderman8391 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's aluminum. Even though aluminum is corrosion resistant I'm sure the salty environment will be bad. Check with someone who knows metallurgy very well. Maybe it could be coated after modification.

      I stand corrected! I figured my M2s receiver was aluminum after a gunsmith who's supposed to be well respected told me so. It is made of high quality steel. A magnet sticks to it. Take very precaution necessary to prevent rust!

    • @BrianMDPhD
      @BrianMDPhD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would take the man's word for it. It is an aluminum receiver. However, most of the parts are steel including the internals, controls, actuators, and barrel. It's likely your magnet is sticking to one of those parts.

      To make dual or quad loading much easier. Not a big deal when shooting on the weekends with your buddies, but essential for many kinds of competitive shotgun shooting.
