I totally agree, it dont have to be your fault, what happens if a buck jumps out in front of you or a car pulls out? You may save your head but the rest of your body will be in pain, there are plenty mesh jackets out there that you can wear to keep you cool. Anything can happen and if you come off even at 20 mph you get road rash(which is basically a burn and its painfully and risk of infection is high. On this one thing I think you are dumb to ride with that little protection not wise at all.

Always something educational and informative to see in California. Gold Country with all the folklore associated with it. Not to mention the town of Paradise hit and burned almost into extinction by those devastating forest fires last year.
The fire he mentioned at Whiskey town was the Carr fire! It burned 230,000 acre, took out over 1,000 homes and killed 8 people. The ghost town is Old Shasta, former county seat back in the day. it nearly burned and many homes around it did. Eric missed a cool thing in the museum. There is, or was last time I was there, a real gallows outside of the jail! I live 8 miles east of where the video started. I hope Eric is headed for gold country-aka The Mother Lode, in the eastern mountains south of Shasta county.
Whiskey Town is in the gold country. In gold prospecting terms, a glory hole is a term used by the 49ers during the gold rush when they found a deposit of gold at the bottom of a waterfall. Rushing water forms an impression or hole at the bottom of the falls where gold collects. When these were discovered they were called "Gloryholes.
Eyyy welcome to our neck of the woods. We live in Redding, and experienced the fires last year. There's a lot of fear of fires around here now. We did a little vlogging of the area after the fires came through. :) Anyway, great stuff you got going...too bad you couldn't get the drone going...I've always wondered what it looked like inside that hole! LOL!
I was at that camping world a few years ago when my toilet in my motorhome crapped out on me, on my way up to Oregon. They parked my motorhome in one of those spaces when they were done replacing my toilet. But I wasn't there very long only a couple hours or so, they got me in immediately without an appointment. I was waiting in their nice waiting room sitting in a comfy recliner watching TV. I have heard about camping world horror stories but that particular camping world took great care of me. The toilet was even on sale. That was the first time that I became a member of camping world/good sam and I have been a member ever since.
I was on another RV TH-cam site, I don't remember which one, but they did have a rv similar to yours, and talked about a fix to lower the heat from the inverter. When they parked, the used a small dash fan with a clip and plugged ( at outlet) kept the panel raised as you are doing, aiming the fan inward to cool the equipment. If it looked like rain, they put a temp cover over the setup to keep the fan running or put the panel back on...If I find the video again, I post a link in the comments. 😂
Nice. I'll have to try the fan idea. I bet one of my 3 box fans will fit in there nicely when I'm parked. But eventually I want to cut out a vent hole there and put in a fan. I'm also looking to get heat down there for the winter.

A stirring fan on the inverter is the way I have seen it. Also a door vent to help exhaust heat. The cooling hose (Dieselman) is a great idea as long as the hose is not too big or you may get condensation in the system. This looks like a good project but also consider fire protection too.

Yes, you don't want a melanoma. If it goes untreated it has a high rate of lethality, very high. I've had it and it was successfully treated. Please wear a sunscreen with either titanium or zinc in it. Keep an eye on your skin and have those suspicious area looked at. It's your best treatment option.
Not sure how far you are coming into California, but Lake Berryessa in Napa County also has a Glory hole and very large dam with a great view. If you're near the area i would give the lake a try. One of my favorite places to go each weekend!
Eric, I think you might have missed what I said several videos back, but if you turn on those less energy intensive fans whilst you have the air conditioner running it would help cool the RV better than with air conditioner alone.

That's a square grand piano....Many were lost during the Civil War....They used the body for barricades & wrapped the strings piano wire around cannon barrels to add integrity against metal fatigue, cracks, etc....

My husband and I were thinking about doing this when the kids left home. But they never left. I have a kitty with an extra toe also. On his front paws his toe grew in so it looks like he has thumbs. On his back paws, his extra toe grew in spots on his paws.

Actually, being a local I know montecello dam is on lake berryessa and the glory hole in that resevoir is one its named after. Other spillways have had the name follow.
It's the other drivers you gotta watch out for on that bike. My uncle and aunt were damn near T-boned by a car that pulled out of a business parking lot entrance. Broke some bones in his back and was down for a while.

According to an article I read (years ago) in Australia, there's a little known law that was introduced to counter-terrorism, that makes it illegal to photograph any essential services, such as dams, telephone exchanges, power plants/power substations, parliamentary buildings etc. Even though it's supposed to be illegal, places like dams always have tourists taking photos of them. I suppose the law is in case people seem suspicious, then the police have a law they can enforce.

Brings back memories of home, grew up in a rural area not far from the lake. Our family plot and homes were wiped out by that fire you mentioned.

There is a "Y" yellow bone they make so you can plug from the 120v and the 30a to join to a 50a connector. Its only breaker to 45a but it works great.

@@nomadicfanatic we got him about 5 years ago. He was found half frozen when he was only 5 months old. We think he might of been farrel.
