Love your videos. We travel with a Dmax and off-road 18 foot off road van. GCM of 6500kg. Fuel 16.4lts per 100km. We travelled mostly around 90km. Had some side wind but very little head wind.
Hi Guy's We met you at Lake Argyle I drive a stock standard y62 towing a 3.5 ton van and averaged 22.4l/100 going across the Nullarbor with no head wind averaged 95k/h so yours was not bad considering your extra windage.
Loved the video 😀😀 I think the reason why trucks were turning on their high beams was cause If you never travelled at night time you may have never needed to adjust your head lights cause each and every time your driving at night your not towing something heavy and there for never needed to adjust your lights. Your caravan will be making the back of the car squat and truck drivers might just be at the right height for them to get it right in their eyes. 🤔🙂🙂
Yeah I dunno, we have never had the problem before as the car is level. There is lots less experienced drivers doing that run now east to west, glad we got off the road though.
Hey guys we just finished our trip from WA back to Vic. We are a 1500 Ram towing 24” van 4t. We don’t have a canopy or boat and averaged 24ltrs per 100. We travel at 100ks. Safe travels.
Love your videos mate and thanks for the info we have the same set up y62 and a 22.9 vacationer rr and heading to. WA in December have enjoyed your video
Hey guys! Just came across this vid! shame about how you felt night driving, weve done it a few times, but our night driving was amazing we saw a meteor shower and it was incredible! Also did you know theres caves to explore on the Nullarbor! Next time check out Murrawijinie and Cocklebiddy caves :) Thanks for the vid :) lovely to see another travel fam out there enjoying it ❤
Thanks for watching guys ! Yeah unfortunately our experience wasn’t great though, we were strapped for time to go across slowly but it was great anyway.
Your words correctly explain our experience with certain drivers, no offence to people who have done it for many years. Using the saying east west cowboy was the best way to explain my thought if you know what I mean. I come from a trucking family and have the utmost respect for all drivers 👍

Thanks for watching ! Sounds like a great set up you have, especially with that fuel usage!

Worst we did crossing with a V6 Everest.. 19.4 , no boat.
Those 3.2 engines are great we owned a few rangers before we had our Patrol.
Absolutely shocked at that fuel usage/expense and its just to go from a to b....
Our set up isn’t for everybody but we love it 😊
Guess that's the secret you all love it. Like your vids BTW. Cheers
Thanks Glen, Glad you enjoy them 😊

I think you need to lighten your load and buy a ranger 😂
We owned 2 rangers before hand, we love the space in our 62 though haha
