What a great Christmas present! Mine only arrived on the Sunday before Christmas - so at least we know where two of the first batch are! I had a very floppy speed regulator, that, in certain position just fouled the flywheel crank, as the shim on the pivot bolt was a fraction too small. This was solved by replacing the shim with a compression spring that forced the speed regulator a little higher, and kept it under tension and more level too. You might want to see if yours has the same issue. If it does it is a very fix fix though.
I'm sorry but mine arrived about a month ago, I'm also from the usa , could you explain a little better about what your talking about??the problem again?
A few months ago I removed the blowdown valve (OK, it crumbled to dust during extraction) from my 3" Maxitrak and made a 3-way replacement which: 1) still acts as a blowdown valve 2) can be used to fill the boiler with the aid of a small electric pump 3) can be use to pressurised the boiler with compressed air from my hobbyist workshop compressor The compressor can run it for several minutes before the motor kicks in again, and then actually switches off a couple of minutes later - even @ 90psi! I haven't really had it steamed yet due to blocked fire tubes and a burnt out fire grate. I've cleared the tubes with a wood bit and made a new grate. One day ...
I also have one of these 2" engines, waiting for warmer weather to fire it up, I see many short cuts have been made in building these engines, just ope We don't have many problems when the steaming starts.

Hi Windy, hope you don't have all the problems I have with mine, taking a while to sort it all out.

Did you build the Thetford Town yourself?
Hi John, No, it was a silver medal winner at the 60th Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace London, built by Peter French.
@@windymiller8016 beautiful model. May I ask what size air compressor you use?
@@johnfebaines Hi John, it's Bambi PT50, Oil-Free.
How much does cost this steamtractor????
Your lubricator ain't working right but I can tell u how to fix this...easy fix..
And you can send drawings, please. At least the engine. I will not copy it exactly, I will take it as a basis. (translated with translate.google.com)
