  • Depending on your background, you might use either "Yahweh" or "Jehovah" to translate the personal name for God in the Old Testament. This video explores the origins of the name Jehovah.

Whoever made this video knows nothing about Hebrew. The name is YeHoVaH. It’s not the letter W, it is a V, hence the name of the letter VAV. If you want to hear a real scholar explain it, search Nehemiah Gordon, a man with a masters in Hebrew who has both Biblical and none biblical references showing the np name WITH the vowels. Spoiler alert, he has over 1,000 documents to back him up.

The v letter in paleo hebrew has a wa sound and jehova's witness know this sometimes and call him yahowah or yahuwah.... But w and j didn't exist until 1500 a.d. and when you look at the first sound associated with the symbol for "vav" before paleo hebrew that letter had a wa sound. 😮‍💨 Basically his names real pronunciation is probably Yahweh once you pick apart the entomology and figure out how people pronounced things back then. I thought it was yahuwah for a while but it's from the same school of thought that we find Yahweh's name and his son Yeshu', not the names i expected either.. 🤔🤷‍♂️

@@--SP0OKY-- I appreciate your input. However, if you look at the name YeHoVaH in Hebrew, it comes from Yihyeh (He will be), Hoveh (He who is) and Heyah (He who was). God’s name is literally He who will be, He who is and He who was, you can see this stated explicitly in Revelation. I will trust a Hebrew scholar with a Masters degree in Hebrew and the 1,000 plus documents he has to back up this claim.

So have all prayers to Jehovah in Jesus' name gone unheard? Jesus= YHWH saves. No. Our heavenly father hears all sincere prayers in line with his will. Even if a child may mispronounce his own father's name, the loving father will provide for his child and love him.

@@Patrick-wc8lt I thought that , until I stumbled across the Jewish Bible scholar/ archaeologist , called Nehemia Gordon. ( His videos are here on TH-cam ) He has found the vowels in the oldest manuscripts, held in the Institutions around the world. The vowels are in there! ..including the Aleppo Codex, the Lenningrad Codex ( two of the earliest manuscripts ) amongst the thousands of manuscripts, him and his team of researchers have accessed, which, predate the claim that a 13th centuary Catholic monk (Raymundus Martinni ) added the vowels, therefore, it's a fake name, claim! This monk has been used in an attempt, to stop people from investigating further, with their own personal research.
The top six manuscripts.( Nehemia calls them) being the earliest manuscripts ..all contain the Hebrew vowels, providing us with the correct 'preserved' pronunciation of the name of God..' Yehovah.' The Jewish Bible scribes did preserve his name.. out of respect for Exodus 3: 15:" This is my name forever, from generation to generation. .."

Jesus is God the Father in the form of the flesh. Read 1 Timothy 3:15 and forward. Also, Philip(one of the 12) said to Jesus, just show us the Father (because Jesus would always talk about the Father, so Jesus replied and said Philip if you have seen me you have seen the Father. Jesus as a human felt pain and hunger and thirst but as God no one could do the miracles He did. Plus, name someone who can resurrect from the dead by his own power? The reason why Jesus did all those amazing things is because the Father was in Him, the Father is Him but He took the form of a man because He saw that there was no other way we could have been forgiven or saved. We will not see 2 or 3 Gods in heaven, we will only see one God. Jesus.

      FINALLY,
YAHWEH IS NOT IN THE AUTHORIZED BIBLE KING JAMES BIBLE.
THIS IS A MADE UP NAME ADDING VOWELS, JUST LIKE JEHOVAH. WHICH IS IN THE BIBLE FROM THE LATIN SCRIPT TO ENGLISH YHWH.
JEHOVAH ONLY IDENTIFIES GOD’S 72 LETTER OLD COVENANT TETRAGAMMATON NAME.
LIKE BLDG INDENTIFIES “IT’S A BUILDING” OR BLVD INDENTIFIES IT’S A “BOULEVARD”. THE SAME AS “YHWH” IDENTIFIES, IT’S GOD !
BUT BLDG IS NOT THE BUILDING, NOR BLVD THE BOULEVARD’S NAME.
      NEITHER IS YHWH GOD’S NAME.
TO THE BORN AGAIN SAINTS OF THE LIVING GOD
      JESUS TOLD US:
MANY FALSE PROPHETS SHALL RISE AND DECEIVE MANY
      [ MATTHEW 24:11 ]
      JESUS PRAYED FOR US:
THAT WE MIGHT BELIEVE ON HIM THROUGH THE WORDS OF THE APOSTLES
      [ JOHN 17:20 ]
      JESUS PROMISED:
TO SEND THE HOLY GHOST AND HE DID ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST, AND THIS IS WHEN THE CHURCH AND THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE WAS BORN WHICH WE CONTINUE IN TO THIS VERY DAY.
      [ JOHN 14:26; ACTS 2:1-4; ACTS 2:37-42 ]
DON’T BE SO SOON SHAKEN BY THESE JOHNNY COME LATELY’S WHO HAVE NO SCRIPTURE, NO DOCTRINE AND NO HOLY SPIRIT !

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
      2 THESSALONIANS 2:2
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
      2 JOHN 1:9
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
      1 CORINTHIANS 12:3
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
      PHILIPPIANS 3:18-20
THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE GREAT FALLING AWAY FROM THE FAITH THAT IS IN JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
      Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
      2 THESSALONIANS 2:3
WE FOLLOW THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE FROM THE DAY OF PENTECOST, AIN’T NOTHING CHANGED IN 2000+ YEARS:
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
      ACTS 2:42

FOLKS SAYING SOMETHING NEW, SAYING THAT THEY ARE PROMOTING THE TRUTH,
BUT WE WILL KNOW IT IS THE TRUTH IF THEY ARE IN THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE, WHICH IS THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST,
THE LIVING GOSPEL OF CHRIST WHICH IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
      2 TIMOTHY 4:3, 4

IF WE, OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN PREACH TO YOU ANY OTHER GOSPEL THAN THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE WHICH IS THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED, LET HIM BE ACCURSED !
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
      GALATIANS 1:6-9
DON’T PLAY AROUND WITH THESE FOLKS.
GET THEM THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST !
GOD DOES NOT LEAVE HIMSELF WITHOUT A WITNESS, IT IS ALL IN THE BOOK (THE BIBLE)
THERE IS ONE LORD: JESUS CHRIST
THERE IS ONE FAITH: THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE
THERE IS ONE BAPTISM: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST
      [ EPHESIANS 4:5 ]
WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST !
WE ALL MUST APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF JESUS CHRIST !
For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
      JOHN 5:22, 23
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
      MATTHEW 25:31-33
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
      2 CORINTHIANS 5:10
THIS IS WHY KNOWING THE TERROR OF THE LORD WE PERSUADE ALL MANKIND TO COME OUT FROM THE POWER OF SATAN AND RETURN TO GOD BEFORE IT’S EVERLASTING TOO LATE !
      [ 2 CORINTHIANS 5:11 ]
      JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU !
      YOU NEED JESUS CHRIST
      YOUR CHILDREN NEED JESUS CHRIST
      PULL AWAY THAT FALSE DOCTRINE,
REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST.
THIS PROMISE IS TO YOU, AND YOUR CHILDREN AND ALL THEM THAT ARE AFAR OFF, AS MANY AS THE LORD OUR GOD WILL CALL.
SAVE YOURSELVES FROM THIS UNTOWARD (PERVERTED) GENERATION !

NOT ACCORDING TO THE COVENANT HE MADE WITH THEIR FATHERS WHEN HE BROUGHT THEM OUT BY THE HAND OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT.
BECAUSE THEY BROKE THAT COVENANT EVEN THOUGH HE WAS A HUSBAND TO THEM SAITH THE LORD.
      8.LUKE 16:16, TELLS US,
THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS WHICH WAS THE OLD COVENANT ENDED WITH JOHN THE BAPTIST, FROM THEN ON THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS PREACHED AND EVERY MAN PRESSES TO GET INTO IT.
      9.MATTHEW 1:20, 21; LUKE 1:34, 35, TELLS US,

EVERY TONGUE SHOULD CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD
JESUS CHRIST IS THE TRUE GOD, AND ETERNAL LIFE
      JESUS IN HEBREW IS ישו

So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess.
      2 CHRONICLES 12:13

But it matter's not....the only name man should concern with knowing is Yeshua or Jesus, for he is the savior, the judge of man kind, and holds the keys to Heaven and Hell. I look at it this way. I was born in the US. My native language is English. My name in English is John. Now if I was to be born into a different country where a different language was spoken, and I was still named John, but in that tongue instead of English, I would hear a different name than how it is pronounced in English. In Mexico I would be called Juan (Hwuan). In Russia I would be called Eoanna (Ee-o-anna). In what ever language I was born into, I would accept that as accurate. As it is, I speak English. God's name in Hebrew, is for Hebrew speaking people. I speak English. and the most common way of expressing God's name in English is Jehovah. This rendering has been used since the very first English translation and was in existence way before that in German. So Jehovah is what I use. The God who confused the languages in the first place, at the Tower of Babel, creating all the different ways to say his name, would hardly be upset if I didn't speak it exactly as the Hebrews did. What's most important is that we call on that name as a friend and put faith in the person who owns owns. The name itself has no magical powers that somehow uttering it exactly as the Hebrews did will protect you from evil or make you closer to godliness. While so many focus on the name, they ignore the person.

Common does not mean correct. Jehovah is a laughably bad mistranslation. Imagine if 1,000 years from now some future person read your comment and thought your name was pronounced Ralph. Now if that person went back in time and asked your Mom, " How is Ralph? " She would look at them like they were plain stupid. With God it's much different. Saying the name of God incorrectly is considered blasphemy regardless of ignorance or intent. If you said to Moses, " I worship the one true God Jehovah. " He would have you stoned to death. If you said to Moses. " I worship Yahowah or even Yahweh. " You would be stoned to death. If you got the name slightly wrong you are killed and if you said the name right you would be killed for speaking the name which is only to be said by the high priest. This is why 100% of ancient Hebrews said Adonay. Put the Watchtower publications down. THe JWs are a false prophet cult.

You are showing that you do not know God at all. God would never see it as blasphemous to say his name in a different language other than in Hebrew. You paint God out to be a hateful vindictabe person. If I said to Moses that I worship Yehovah, he would have known who I was talking about. The point with true worshipers that you do not understand is this. Moses and every other worshiper of the true God was more interested in developing a close personal relationship with the one who carries that name rather than focusing on how it was originally pronounced in the original languages and berating those who use the one commonly used in their language which God was responsible in creating at the tower of Babel.

Do you know that you are reading an English translation of a Latin translation of a Greek translation of a Hebrew translation.? Also ancient Hebrew had no "vowels" so it is not possible to read the Hebrew and derive the "oh" sound or the "ah". Jews over the centuries stopped pronouncing the word, instead substituting "Adonai" because it was considered too holy. So no one knows how to pronounce the ancient Hebrew or what God's name is.

If you look at the online manuscripts of the Aleppo Codex and Leningrad Codex, you’ll find that the Tetragrammaton is vowel pointed at least nine different ways, forcing at least seven different pronunciations. The only way it is not pointed is for the pronunciation Yahweh. So it seems that this was the one pronunciation they did not want spoken. Just logical deduction surmises that they were still trying to keep that Name set apart and unspoken by common people, just as they had for centuries. However, we know that whatever form we use to call on him, he hears us. His spoken name is unique in every nation and culture.

There’s two problems with this argument.
    1. There’s nothing in Jewish writings to suggest the Masoretes didn’t want to put the correct vowels. Hence there’s no historical evidence that they intended on putting the vowels that would suggest another word.
    2. What we do have in evidence is a directive not to read the name “as it is written”. The only way this could be done is if the the vowel pointing actually gave the correct pronunciation.
    3. Another problem with the argument is the vowel pointing is not the vowel pointing of Adonai. The vowels under the divine name are sh’va - cholem - qamatz. If they were meant to point to Adonai then they would be suggesting we say uh-donai.
    4. Finally, the internal evidence suggest that these vowel sounds were in fact the correct pronunciation. Nearly every occurrence of the divine name is missing the cholem vowel pointing. So out of the three vowel signs needed to point the reader to say Adonai only one is present, the qamatz.

The name YHVH is pronounced Yehovah. Why? Because the meaning of the Divine Name is He Who Was, Is and Will Be in hebrew Ha Yah, Hoveh and Jihjeh. Now according to these words in hebrew and the letters of the Divine Name YHVH, how do you think it should be pronounced Yahweh, or Yehovah? Second, in hebrew usually the names that start with Y are followed by an "e" when they have a consonant as a third letter. For example Yeremiyah, Yesebel, Yefte, Yerushalaim, Yethro etc. The name Jacob in hebrew is Ya'akov with 2 "a". Third why the hebrew names that include the Name of God inside start with Yeho and not with Yah, for example Yehoshua, Yehosaphat, Yehonatan, Yehonadab,Yehoachim etc. The short name of God YAH come from the verb "Ha Yah" that means simply "I Am", but the full name YHVH does not mean simply "I Am", but " I was, I will be and I am" ( JihJEH, HOVeh, haYAH). So it's more correct to say Yehovah than Yahweh.

"The divine name is considered so sacred they [the Jews] simply removed the vowels"
Written Hebrew has no vowels. There are none to remove.
Berachot Mishnah 9:5 of the Jewish Talmud tells us why the divine name is used in the daily greeting of the faithful. It is based on Ruth 2:4.
Ruth 2:4 And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said unto the reapers, Jehovah be with you. And they answered him, Jehovah bless thee. (ASV)
So, why do modern Jews say HaShem (the name) instead of the divine name and read the divine name as adonai (lord)?
In 135 C.E., Cesar Hadrian decided to stamp out Judaism. He forbad the Bar Mitzvah, the Bat Mitzvah, reading the Torah in the synagogue on Shabatt and, "saying the divine name as written".
A well known rabbi, rabbi Hanina ben Teradion ignored the prohibition and uttered the name publicly. The Romans burned him at the stake, wrapped in a Torah scroll.
The Jewish leadership met and decided to stop using the name, until the promised Messiah arrived. He was already a hundred years overdue and they thought He would arrive shortly.
According to Dead Sea Scrolls translator Nehemia Gordon, of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, in his book, "Shattering the Conspiracy of Silence", the correct pronunciation has never been lost and has been passed down since 135 C.E., from sage to sage. The Hebrew pronunciation is Ye-ho-vah'.
This is based on the vowel inflections found in the Aleppo Codex. You can check yourself. Get a copy and look at Exodus 3:15. You will see the four consonants yod hey vav hey and the vowel inflections sheva choh-lem and chi'req hay.
    Hope this helps.

It's odd that for many centuries bur somehow after 1975 people start attacking and attempting to change the dominately accepted name. And what makes their gatred so evident is their stance in Keeping Jesus, Jerusalem etc. As rendered. Jesus was probably Yehoshua but do any of these antagonist attack it ?

"Jesus was probably Yehoshua but do any of these antagonist attack it ?"
Jesus' name in Hebrew is Yehovah Yoshia, which is, "Jehovah salvation", in English. It is often contracted to Yehoshua or Yeshua, which translate to Joshua, in English. The holy scriptures only call all Jesus Ἰησοῦ or Iēsous, which translates into Latin as Iēsou. Jesus is not a translation of transliteration of any know word. It is just a made up word to keep people from confusing Jesus with Joshua son of Nun.
      Interesting.

    • @about2mount
      @about2mount 6 ปีที่แล้ว

IMJW1000 Joshʹu·a is a hortened form of Jehoshua, meaning “Jehovah Is Salvation'' also.
Iezues means ''Jehovah God'' Je-Zues. And rightfully so for Jehovah says in Psalms he will come in my name, and again Jesus himself repeats that he came in his fathers name. Most of the Apostles called him the ''Messiah'' or ''Messenger of God'' His given name was Yehoshuah which means ''Jehovah Saves'' and is slightly different or longer form of Joshua or Yeshuah. But its accepted latin forms Jehovah Father and Jesus Son is used in most languages today. And had already been the accepted name for many generations. God being an active God divinely inspired it to be in that form. If not then it truly would have been forgotten. Interestingly enough Revelations stated both Jesus and the Father having a new name. This would also verify a devine intervention where both Jehovah and Jesus were chosen and accepted all thise years from about the reformation through now. Interestingly enough Catholics, Protestants, Baptist and Orthodox Christianity spread those two names all over the earth in every language, thus devine would be the best assumption. Lol

The argument that Yehovah is written with the vowels from Adonai has never convinced me, because otherwise it would have to be Yahovah, which it's not. I know that many Jews considered Yehovah/Yehowah to be the correct pronunciation until the 13-14th century. Of course that doesn't prove that Yehovah is the correct pronunciation, but considering the reliability of the oral traditions, I could imagine that it is correct. But assuming that Yehovah is indeed not the correct pronunciation, this does not make the pronunciation "Yahweh" automatic more trustworthy. If you follow the grammatical rules of Hebrew, the name of God is written at the beginning of a Name with Ye-(ho) (Yehoshua, Yehosef, Yehoshafat, Yeshaya," and at the end of a name with a ya-(hu). (Eli-ya-hu). Yahweh is an artificially composed word, like "Haribo" is for "Harry from Bonn". The name of God conjugated as a verb from the third person of hawah means Yihweh in Hebrew, Yeheweh in Aramaic. As a noun it would be Yihwah, in Aramaic Yehewah. Some tend to think that the Aramaic pronunciation is the more original, since Abraham was Aramaic and he was the first to address God as YHWH. If you also consider the flow, this makes clear sense: God first say "eh yeh asher eh yeh", later then he said YHWH (Yeheweh) Ehyeh (I am) > Yeheweh >He is (with us). If God spoke his name as a noun, then in the end as Wah Yehewah. Yehewah has also the ryme factor. Just look about the aaronic blessing in hebrew and replace it with YeHeWaH , you will become a smooth ryme : Yewaraheha Yehewah veyishmerah, Yaher Yehewah panav eleicha". So check how the vocals matches with Yehewah. I think thatxYehewah the best candidate to be the true pronounciation. But of course, God knows best. We will never know be completely sure about that, because paleo hebrew had no vovels and there is no audio-recorder from the Time of Moses, David or Elia to know how it was originally pronounced

Daniel Madden Many of us know why the Catholics reject Jehovah , just like they reject the truth from God's word. I know because they tell those that don't know any better that Jehovahs witnesses are a cult to try and keep them away from the real truth in scripture. They mix the pagan teachings of ancient Babylon with the truth from God's word. The Cross comes from Babylon where false religion got its start. Google STAROUS which is the Greek word for what Jesus was hung on. He was hung on an upright stake or pole not a cross. The pagan trinity doctrine came from Babylon. Babylon worshipped a number of trinity Gods. Praying beads came from there. Worship of mother and child came from there. Lots of false religious teachings came from ancient Babylon where false religion got its start. That's why Revelation 18: 4 cries out, " GET OUT of her my people if you don't want to share in her sins and plagues. Babylon will be completely destroyed in the coming Great Tribulation Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24: 21. BABYLON IS THE WORLD EMPIRE OF ALL FALSE RELIGION. The real truths Jesus spoke lead to life. Instead of going to church it would be in your best interests to read the gospels of Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus said he was the WAY the TRUTH and the Life. He also said not to call anyone on earth you Spiritual Father. For One is your FATHER , the heavenly one.

In its articles on Jehovah, The Imperial Bible-Dictionary nicely illustrates the difference between ʼElo·himʹ (God) and Jehovah. Of the name Jehovah, it says: “It is everywhere a proper name, denoting the personal God and him only; whereas Elohim partakes more of the character of a common noun, denoting usually, indeed, but not necessarily nor uniformly, the Supreme. . . . The Hebrew may say the Elohim, the true God, in opposition to all false gods; but he never says the Jehovah, for Jehovah is the name of the true God only. He says again and again my God . . . ; but never my Jehovah, for when he says my God, he means Jehovah. He speaks of the God of Israel, but never of the Jehovah of Israel, for there is no other Jehovah. He speaks of the living God, but never of the living Jehovah, for he cannot conceive of Jehovah as other than living.”-Edited by P. Fairbairn, London, 1874, Vol. I, p. 856.

They all follow the (Ye-o-ah) format. The rumor of Masoretes using vowels from Adonai continues to spread about this subject, but the fact is there is no solid evidence of this, and I think the theory began with Geniuses Lexicon. I'm still learning about the subject but evidence for pronunciation Yehovah is pretty solid.

yahweh witch sounds close2 jehova as we see in this video are gods name, so if it's yahweh or jehova doesn't matter, just like the name jesus is written and pronounced differently around the world, the meaning is the most important... so yes jehova prob wasn't the actual word in original texts, but if it should be translated jehova would be a fine reword of Yahweh, since hebrew is kinda speciel for what goes for writeings and sayings ^:^' again the meaning & message of these names are the most important ^:^' Jehova infact means in short terms ''become whatever it takes To complete my intention'' , just like Jesus means ''The anointed'' sry for my bad english ^.^' btw in jesus example of pray he sayd some of the first

I heard about the Masorete vowel placement so many times - about placing the vowels of adonai under YHWH but out of all the videos and websites that refer to this, I have NOT been able to find one piece of hard evidence that this is what really happened. How about an ancient document somewhere, somebody... Please? How do we know that this is not just some crazy theory that someone down the line came up with, and everyone started spreading it around like a rumor gone wild? I am seriously looking for some hard evidence. Please don't tell me something so serious, without providing some hard evidence about this. Is there an ancient document somewhere that proves the masoretes did this? Or is this just a "heard it through the grapevine" preposition?

Ok, here's the thing. The problem is language, and not just the Hebrew. The name of the Hebrew God is a big issue. The four consonants YHVH make for three syllables. So what about "Yahweh"? With 2 syllables doesn't stand that first test. There's no W sound in Hebrew. Besides, "Yahweh" is a Catholic contribution never heard of until 1956, because well... Catholics don't like the name. The fact is that before 1956, nobody on earth had ever heard of the "Yahweh" version of the Holy Name, except for Epiphanius of Salamis, the first Catholic monk who first reported that the Greek-speaking Samaritans of Israel in his time, pronounced it "Iabe". The problem is, they were Samaritans influenced by Greek mythology! In other words, pagan idolaters who spoke Greek koine;. And in Greek, the name given to goddesses always ends with an "-e", which communicates femininity. Aphrodite, Persephone, Nike, you get the idea. The same in Latin. Even in Italian the "e" at the end is used the describe feminine gender, because Latin roots demand it. So, when we've got Roman Catholics saying that the name of the Hebrew God ends with an "e", because some monk heard idol-worshiping Samaritans mispronouncing it with a Greek feminine ending...well, anyone can guess that Greek-Latin-speaking-Catholic scholars surely know that they are mocking the Name, by making it sound similar to those of feminine demons. Yahweh, Yave, Iabe, Jabe, Giave, etc... 2 syllables, a "U" vocal sound pulled from under the sleeve and a feminine Greek ending. It doesn't hold up.
"Jehovah", on the other hand, is pretty much in line, phonetically, when comparing it against other Hebrew masculine names, such as JEHOshaphat, JEHOshua, JEHOiadah, JEHOzadaq, and many others. You don;t say YAHWEshaphat, YAHWEiadah, YAHWEzadaq, YAHWEshua, etc. No. Also "Juda" is in fact JEHOiudah, and not YAHWEiudah. It just doesn't register.
As for the ending, well, there's JeremiAH, IsaiAH, NehemaiAH, ZacariAH, ElijAH, etc. All those are masculine endings in Hebrew. The Bible explains itself. Hope this helps.

Son of Rock Well, my contribution was firstly focused on the vowels. But yes, you are right. "J" was added to romance languages fairly recently. Italian doesn't use it (they have 'gi'). Even we in Spanish (I'm Hispanic btw) don't even pronounce it with the "J-Y-I" sound, but with "H" as in ''ham'. Like I said, the problem is language. Or perhaps the 'evolution of language'. So yes, most certainly the very first letter has a "Y" sound. We all agree on that one.
As for the "V-W", well, it's a hard know fact that protestant translations beginning with William Tyndale and Martin Luther have it with a "V". 80 years later Valera, Reina and the KJV got it the same. The ancient form has it with "U" and with the modern "V" because in Latin, both are interchangeable, and Jews were very exposed to Latin. So it could be a "U" or a "V". But "W" with a "U" sound is very modern. In any case, what's relevant is not the letter, but the sound. Askhenazi Jews had it with "U" and Sephardic with "V".
As for the "-e" ending sound, I rest my case. The Bible in Mark 15:40 and 16:1 mention "Salom-é", one of the WOMEN who were with the disciples. The "e" is definitely a feminine component in Greek-Latin nouns.
If you don't like the "J" because is very modern, then use "Y". Even "I" is ok.
If you don't like "V" and prefer "U-W", go for it.
But as for "ah" instead of "eh", I think we can agree.
'Jehovah', 'Yahwah', 'Ieoua', and 'Iaua' do sound alike, all with Hebrew sounding original roots, but they are only approximations.
But the "Yahweh" form... I find it blasphemous and disrespectful. That feminine "e" at the end is very clear to me what it means.
I definitely don't have all the answers, but I've searched this issue because this is so important for us Christians. The Name. "Holy be thy name"...
Don't forget that compared to God, we are just children, trying to pronounce our Father's name as best as we can. Babies certainly don't pronounce adult's names correctly, but we understand what they mean and we love them for it. With our Godly Father must the same, I can assure you.
Personally, I prefer the "Jehovah" form in Spanish as "Jehová". I'm sure in my prayers my Father knows I'm talking to Him.
May he bless you in your search.

The first lie that it's to sacred to pronounce that is just a tradition of Men Jew/Judaism now called modern day Pharisees cause of this verse (Jeremiah 44:26) Therefore hear ye the word of YAHWEH, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith YAHWEH, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, YAHWEH ELOHIM liveth.
Now the second lie that there is no vowels in Hebrew if that was the case no one would be able to read the Bible. IsaiYAH, JeremiYAH, EliYAH, NehemiYAH, ZepheniYAH, ZekeriYAH, ObadiYAH, and so on... HalleluYAH read (Psalms 68:4)YAH rides in the clouds. They removed the Name 7,000 times & the Son & replaced it with false names & titles they will get there reward. Time to replace it back. Yahweh in Yahshua (John 8:24)

@@speedoggy You talk about lies, so here is my challenge to YOU....Here it is, there is also a clue in the names of people in the Bible whose names were made up in part from the names of their gods, referred to as THEOPHORIC NAMES IN THE BIBLE,,,,,,theophoric names are names derived from a god. For example:
False gods: Bel and Nebo: Bel = Belteshazar (Daniel) Nebo = Nebonidus, Nebuchadnezzar,
True God Yeho(vah) ….Yehoyakim, Yehoram, Yehoshua, Yehoshaphat, Yehudah, Yehoash , Jeho-a-haz

The Jews stopped using the name Yehovah in the 2nd century when emperor Hadrion tried to end Judaism and any Jew who greeted another in Yehovah's name was killed. Actually Yehovah is the real pronounciation as Jewish Rabbis left clues which state the vowels are E O A and ancient Hebrew stresses mean that it needs to be Yehovah and not Yahweh.

Thanks for the presentation. Yes you are right that God has only one personal holy name as represented by the Tetragrammaton ( יהוה) often transliterated as YHWH. Then into various guessed forms such as Yahweh, Yehwah, Yehwih, or Yeho·wah
Of course, when this is put into English (as an example) then we can get Jehovah, Yehovah, Iehovah, Iehouah etc… all pretty similar. I personally speak English. Did God say not to translate his name into other languages that we speak? Please show me a scripture that’s says he didn’t want humans to use his name in other language forms. Sure, we can say Yahweh or similar if we choose to or a close representation in our own language. There is no prohibition in the Bible to do any of this.
If we don’t know the exact way to pronounce it due to the lost vowels, then should we not use it? Should we really believe its too sacred to get wrong? Should we follow ancient superstations that are not in the Hebrew Bible anywhere?
(Interestingly the Encyclopaedia Judaica says: “The avoidance of pronouncing the name YHWH is . . . caused by a misunderstanding of the Third Commandment (Ex. 20:7; Deut. 5:11) as meaning ‘Thou shalt not take the name of YHWH thy God in vain,’ whereas it really means ‘You shall not swear falsely by the name of YHWH your God.’” So clearly this is not a commandment by God not to use his name. He is simply saying don't use my name in a bad, worthless way or use it to lie basically.
Gods holy personal and divine name in the Bible well over 6800 times much more than any other name. The words, as examples, - God or god, Almighty, Lord, Sovereign, Father, First and Last - are all descriptive titles and are not personal names of God or a proper noun to identify Gods name.
But Yahweh is close as a transliteration and others may be as well. But what is Gods viewpoint? Does he want us to use his name whichever language version we use of the Tetragrammaton in the Bible? What is God telling us in these verses below (provided in various Bible translations, just some samples and there are many more with the Tetragammaton)
Is God saying don’t use my name- forget it? Its to sacred to use? You must only use for a 1500 hundred years then stop using it? Then just use my titles like Almighty God, Most high, Father, Lord etc…..? Or don’t use my name if not sure how to pronounce! Really are there any verses in the Bible at all that hint at this at all??
Hopefully some food for thought for truth seekers. Thanks

    Professor G. T. Manley points out: “A study of the word ‘name’ in the O[ld] T[estament] reveals how much it means in Hebrew. The name is no mere label, but is significant of the real personality of him to whom it belongs. . . . When a person puts his ‘name’ upon a thing or another person the latter comes under his influence and protection.”-New Bible Dictionary, edited by J. D. Douglas, 1985, p. 430; compare Everyman’s Talmud, by A. Cohen, 1949, p. 24;
No wonder Almighty God told the ancient Israelites that they were his witnesses and to be called by his name. He wanted to protect them and also to reveal his name and his power through his miraculous protection of his people. His people were his children. He was their father. All the nations were to come to know his name as the true God! A loving father but identified specifically by his personal unique and special name. This would also separate him from all the other false gods of this world promoted by the enemy of truth and the father of the lie - Satan the devil.
Those that serve the true Almighty God and our creator today and use his name regularly in conversation and in prayer (Yahweh, Jehovah or whichever one you prefer or in your own language) today know that he is their God protecting them and guiding them today. You are also being obedient to his instructions in his word. Thanks for your time ( Isa 43:7 - Acts 15:17)

    What Happened To Hebrew?
The Eberim (hEBRews) include all those descendants of Eber, and his great, great grandchild, Abrahim. Their language groups include those of the present-day Yahudim, Arabs, and in centuries past, the Parthians, Medes, among others we see listed at Acts 2:9-10.
The language spoken by the Eberim inhabitants of Yerushalom was called "Yahudith" (H3066) as we see at YashaYahu / Isaiah 36:13. The Assyrian Rabshakeh was speaking in Yahudith so they would understand his insults, but the leaders wanted him to speak in Aramaic so they would not understand his words. What is called "modern Hebrew" is a script of Assyrian / Aramaic, transliterated into Yahudith words.
If Arabic is the origin of the language of Hebrew, as some contend, then it makes it difficult to imagine how the Assyrian Rabshakeh knew to speak to the inhabitants in two languages (Yahudith and Aramaic), and Arabic is not mentioned.
Acts 22:2 and 26:14 state that Yahusha spoke in Eberith (Yahudith/Hebrew) to Shaul, and the people became silent and listened to Paul as he spoke to them in Eberith (Yahudith/Hebrew). The Eberith language did not need reviving, but the people returning from the nations to their homeland needed to be retrained a great deal - albeit with the Aramaic/Assyrian script with Masoretic / Qaraim controllers adjusting the vowels.

The enemies of Jehovah claim that his name is wrong because those are the vowels of Adonai. But there is a small problem with this assumption which refutes this whole statement. In Hebrew grammar rules it works like this: There are different vowels which are placed under certain consonants. There are so-called Chataph vowels: Chataph-Seggol, Chataph-Patach, Chataph-Qamäz. However, these can only be placed under the four consonants Aleph, He, Chet, or Ayin, but not under a Yodh, which is the first consonant of the name of God. The second and third vowels are the same in the name of God and in Adonai, but the first vowel of Adonai is a Chataph-Patach, which cannot be placed under a Yodh. Under the Yodh in the name of God is a Schwa. A patach, qamaez, sere, seggol, chiriq, cholam, and qubbuz can also be placed under a yodh, but as mentioned, no chataph vowels. So if God's name has the same vowels as Adonai, why didn't they make the chataph-patach a patach, but a schwa instead? This already shows that the first vowels of Adonai and the name of God are two different vowels, and not the same. And if you say Adonai anyway, and not the name of God, why should you follow the grammar rules? OK, let's assume that the Masoretes really did follow the grammar rules, but strangely made a chataph-patach a schwa instead of a patach. Why then, are there places where they put the vowels of Elohim in the name of God? The first vowel of Elohim is a chataph-seggol. It shouldn't be placed under a yodh, but was inserted anyway. Why did the Masoretes follow the grammar rules for the vowels of Adonai, but didn't care about Elohim? This makes no sense, except for one logical explanation: Jehovah is really the name of God, as the theophoric names say, all of which begin with Jeho-. So this makes it 100% clear that God's name is Jehovah. So Yahweh is false, and an idol.

    Full Question
I heard that God's name is supposed to be "Yahweh." Why do people call him "Jehovah" instead? One sect, the Jehovah's Witnesses, has even used this word in its name.
    Answer
In Hebrew the name of God is spelled YHWH. Since ancient Hebrew had no written vowels, it is uncertain how the name was pronounced originally, but there are records of the name in Greek, which did have written vowels. These records indicate that in all likelihood the name should be pronounced "Yahweh."
Shortly before the first century A.D., it became common for Jews to avoid saying the divine name for fear of misusing it and breaking the second commandment ("You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain," Dt 5:11). Whenever they read Scripture aloud and encountered the divine name, they substituted another Hebrew word, "Adonai" (which means "Lord" or "my Lord"), in its place.
Eventually Hebrew developed written vowels, which appeared as small marks called vowel points and were placed above and below the consonants of a word. In the sixth or seventh century some Jews began to place the vowel points for "Adonai" over the consonants for "Yahweh" to remind the reader of Scripture to say "Adonai" /Elohim El, ABBA Father whenever he read "Yahweh."
About the 13th century the term "Jehovah" appeared when Christian scholars took the consonants of "Yahweh" and pronounced it with the vowels of "Adonai." This resulted in the sound "Yahowah," which has a Latinized spelling of "Jehovah." The first recorded use of this spelling was made by a Spanish Dominican monk, Raymundus Martini, in 1270.
Interestingly, this fact is admitted in much Jehovah's Witness literature, such as their Aid to Bible Understanding (p. 885). This is surprising because Jehovah's Witnesses loathe the Catholic Church and have done everything in their power to strip their church of traces of Catholicism. Despite this, their group's very name contains a Catholic "invention," the name "Jehovah."
Jehovah's Witnesses blast orthodox Christendom for "hiding the name of God" by replacing "Jehovah" with "the Lord" whenever "Jehovah" appears in Scripture. They charge this is a Jewish "superstition" that dishonors God (which it does not). Yet their own organization has a name that was invented as a result of the same thinking that produced use of "the Lord."

In every single sense of these words, no, that isn't contradictory nor hypocritical at all nor overall.
It's an overall known fact that God's Name's YHWH, but there's also considering the fact and/or facts that no one knows the objectively truthful, perfect, and correct information, and most definitely pronunciation, of God's Name either, further considering these fact and/or facts that not only does no one truly, perfectly, objectively, nor wholeheartedly knows nor understands God's Name, but no one, not even the majorities and/or the entireties of the peoples, individuals, nation and civilization, such as Israel, know how God's Name was even originally pronounce in Old Hebrew, because Old Hebrew doesn't really, if ever, have any common and similar rules when that concerns and involves everyone else and everything else concerning and involving Modern Hebrew, because Modern Hebrew and Old Hebrew aren't even that close to being the same national and/or international languages at all nor overall, and also, don't really have any common and similar rules when that comes to Spelling, Grammar, and Pronunciation. Basically, no one's even right, and yet, no one's even wrong either, when God's Name comes up in any debates and arguments, and people are just arguing over semantics that they all don't even know if it's even true or not. The objectively correct information and pronunciation of God's Name will be forever until there's any more information about how God's Name was objectively, truly, and correctly, and also wholeheartedly pronounce overall, and also, altogether, and since you wanna bring up religious beliefs and authenticity, then you'll have to in-depthly research, study, and investigate everyone else and everything else concerning and involving Religion, and also, Christianity itself, and that's including Trinitarianism, considering the fact and/or facts that everyone else, including that of Catholicism, outright knows and understands that Trinitarianism, and all of its differentiated and variational forms, wasn't even an religiously doctrinal tenet and creed, one of many, that was even prevalent in nor during Christianity's inception and its beginnings, as in First Century Christianity, and was only an Second Century Doctrination.
Also, if you've got any other plans to do any further in-depth research and study, instead pulling up one source of information and then nothing else, then just stay out of conversations like this if you aren't actually going to contribute to the discussion at hand here. Okay.?. Thanks.

Y...HENCE YOU HAVE YAH...THE HEBREWS SPOKE THE CONSONANTS INTO A NAME..SUCH AS YHWH AS YOD-HEH-WAW-HEH. say.. yod heh waw heh real fast and listen closely to the sound of the beginning of each consonant and putting them all together you will hear the name Yahweh.the name Jehovah was not in existence before the 13th century..but the name IAHWEH or YAHWEH was... but ignorance crept in later and created the false form Jehovah. to see a very good article on the true name of God see the Encyclopedia Britannica 1967 edition..I have known of the correct name Yahweh since learning of it back in 1977...so i am not a newbie

Randy Lin only the name Jehovah was a hybrid false form of the Divine name of YHWH..and came into being somewhere in the 13th century..the name of Jesus was originally Hebrew Aramaic as Yahshua, (Biblical Hebrew) then Yehoshua, and later in modern Hebrew as Yeshua..and in Greek as Iesous, and in Latin as Iesus. actually the correct and true form of Yahshua(Joshua) literally means Yah is Salvation...but because the ignorance and disagreements of man over translations people have unknowingly followed these commonly used traditions..does this mean that Almighty God demands absolute exactness of the use of his correct name.? God knows all things and the sincere intent of a persons heart regardless of their linguistics and knowledge,so long as this doesn't enter into paganism..because he will reveal to whom he wills...to those who have ears to hear...btw the name Elijah is ELIYAH meaning My God is Yah(WEH) do you understand why Eliyah was contending with the priests of Baal..it was to reveal to the Israelite's the true name of God(ELOHIM)..

this is a case in point that I have been trying to make, the blind leading the blind,Jehovah is NOT the correct name of God..will you be honest and check out this word....in Hebrew its Hallelujah...notice it has at the end the Jah and not Jeh...can you tell me if the name Jehovah is correct why then did this word not have been written Hallelujeh, I tell you because it means Praise (Hallel) ye Jah(Yahweh).also why doesn't the word Elijah have Jeh at the end of the name, instead of Jah if thou can tell.. see Psalm 68:4 which declares the short form of Yahweh as Jah..please do your homework and do better research and you will see that I'm telling you the truth..or are you blindly accepting what some Church is teaching you? perhaps Jehovah's Witnesses? there are plenty of Bible names of people that have a part of God's name in it.. Isaiah and not Isaieh,Jeremiah and not Jeremieh..Obadiah and not Obadieh...see what I mean..you are not consistent in what you say..even JW believe the true name of God is not Jehovah please see page 884-885 in their book : Aids to Bible understanding...this name is used because of tradition and is so commonly used and known..

Grace 2U the video I posted is not from the Watchtower. It is from a secular source on the subject. Please watch it. The fact is that NO ONE knows the correct pronunciation of the Name because of Jewish superstition. HOWEVER Jehovah is the most widely accepted pronunciation in the English language for centuries. And no one even cared about God's name until Jehovah's Witnesses made it known. But they know WHO that name refers to.. and that is all that really matters to us. Jesys said, in prayer to his Father, "I have made your Name known and will Continue to make it known.." John 17:26

Removed the vowels? _(What never was, cannot be removed.)_
So a fact about Hebrew, which will bring us closer to how YHWH _(or YHVH)_ should be spoken:
Names are never names, just to be names. Every name has a meaning, and more important than the name is the character of what is given a name. דג, or fish, actually translates _(from ancient Hebrew)_ to _"tail wagging."_ Change the vowel added in, and you have _"Dog."_ Which is also an important thing to also know about ancient Hebrew, is that nouns have action. _(Note: The lettering we see today aren't ancient Hebrew. They're Aramaic. Ancient Hebrew is pictographs.)_
Both Jehovah and Yahweh have no meanings in Hebrew. They are non-Hebrew words, made up by non ancient Hebrew speakers, trying to add vowels, in which to make pronounceable words.
So, what can YHWH be made into, in Hebrew? YiH WeH means _"I am,"_ and YeH WeH means _"He is."_ Which is why in Judaism, so as not to complicate or corrupt the meaning of the text, Adonai _(The Lord)_ is spoken instead. _(Note: YHWH is 6,828 times in the Leningrad Codex, aka, Tanakh, aka Hebrew Bible. All but one have the vowel signs, so as to be spoken as; I am or He is.)_
Now all that said, knowing God's name is unimportant. Knowing God's character, God's meaning to us, is of *absolute importance.* So, whatever brings you closer to God, go for it. _("What is a rose by any other name, but a rose?")_ Just wisdom says; Don't say Jehovah or Yahweh around Hasidic Jews. You won't like the reaction you get.

2 Esdras Chapter 15 Verse 4: "Every unbeliever will die (Be Judged and be cast down to the world of the dead or Hell) because of his unbelief."
YAHWEH or YEHOVAH or YHWH is a SOUND, not a NAME. The Old Testament, Exodus 19 Verse 9: The Lord said to Moses, "I will come to you in a thick CLOUD (WATER), so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will believe you from now on."/// The Old Testament, 2 Esdras Chapter 6 Verse 17: The angel Uriel spoke to Prophet Ezra and said, "The Lord Himself will speak to you in a LOUD VOICE." I Ezra, stood up and LISTENED, I heard a VOICE that SOUNDED like a ROARING RIVER (WATER). It said, "The time is near when I will come to judge the people living on the Earth." The Old Testament, Exodus 24 Verses 15 to 18: Moses went up Mount Sinai, and a CLOUD (WATER) covered it. The dazzling light of the Lord's presence came down on the mountain. The CLOUD (WATER) covered the mountain for six days, and on the seventh day the Lord called Moses from the CLOUD (WATER). Moses went on up the mountain into the CLOUD (WATER). There he stayed for forty days and nights. The New Testament, 2 Peter Chapter 3 Verse 5: They purposely ignore the fact that long ago God gave a command, and the heavens and the earth were created. The earth was formed out of WATER (Hydrogen, an Element in WATER makes up 75% of all Matter) and by WATER (HOLY SPIRIT of YAHWEH or YEHOVAH). The New Testament, John 19 Verse 34: One of the soldiers, however, plunged his spear into JESUS' side, and AT ONCE, BLOOD and WATER (HOLY SPIRIT of YAHWEH or YEHOVAH) poured out. The New Testament, John 17 Verses 11 and 12: The NAME of GOD: JESUS was praying for his Disciples in the Garden and said, "HOLY FATHER! Keep them safe by the power of your NAME, the NAME you gave me, so that they may be ONE just as you and I are ONE. While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your NAME, the NAME you gave me." The New Testament, Revelation 1 Verse 7: "Look!, He is coming on the CLOUDS!" "CLOUDS!"/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The Importance of WATER (Hydrogen2Oxygen) in The Holy Bible.
    1) Exodus 13 Verse 21: During the day the Lord went in front of them (Israel) in a pillar of CLOUD (WATER) to show them the way, and during the night He went in front of them in a pillar of FIRE (Hydrogen is FLAMMABLE) to give them light, so that they could travel night and day.
    2) Exodus 16 Verse 10: As Aaron spoke to the whole community, they turned towards the desert, and suddenly the dazzling light of the Lord appeared in a CLOUD (WATER). 3) Exodus 18 Verse 9: The Lord said to Moses, "I will come to you in a thick CLOUD (WATER), so that the people will hear me speaking with you Moses, and they will believe you from now on."
    4) Exodus 24 Verses 15 to 18: Moses went up Mount Sinai, and a CLOUD (WATER) covered it. The dazzling light of the Lord's presence came down on the mountain. The CLOUD (WATER) covered the mountain for six days, and on the seventh day the Lord called Moses from the CLOUD (WATER). Moses went on up into the mountain into the CLOUD (WATER). There he stayed for forty days and forty nights. 5) Deuteronomy 18 Verses 16 to 18: The Lord said to Moses, "On the day you were gathered at Mount Sinai (The Lord appeared in a thick CLOUD (WATER)), you begged not to hear the Lord speak again or to see his fiery presence any more, because you were afraid you would die. So the Lord said to me (Moses), 'They have made a wise request. I will send them a prophet like you from among their (Israel) own people; I will tell Him what to say, and He will tell the people everything I command. He will speak in my NAME, and I will punish anyone who refuses to obey Him.
    6) John 17 Verses 10,11 and 12: JESUS Pray to His Father YAHWEH, "All I have is yours, and all you have is mine; and my glory is shown through them (Disciples). While I was with them (Disciples), I kept them (Disciples) safe by the power of your NAME, the NAME you gave me.
    7) Deuteronomy 28 Verse 12: He (Almighty God YAHWEH) will send RAIN (WATER) in season from His rich storehouse in the sky and bless all your work, so that you will lend to many Nations, but you will not have to borrow from any. Question to Muslims: Why are all Muslim Countries barren, dead, cursed and infertile DESERTS?
    8) John 19 Verse 34: *One of the soldiers, however, plunged his spear into Jesus' side, and at once BLOOD and WATER poured out.* (Saint Faustina Kawalska- Image of Divine Mercy).
    9) 1 John 5 Verses 6 to 12: The Witness about Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the one who came with the WATER of His Baptism and the BLOOD of His death. He came not only with the WATER, but with both the WATER and the BLOOD. And the Spirit Himself testifies that this is True, because the Spirit is TRUTH. There are three (3) Witnesses, the Spirit, the WATER, and the BLOOD, and all three (3) give the same testimony. We believe in man's testimony; but God's testimony is much stronger, and He has given this testimony about His Son. So whoever BELIEVES in the Son of God has this testimony written on his own Heart; but whoever does not believe God, has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed what God has said about His Son. The testimony is this: God has given us Eternal Life, and this Life has it's source in His Son. Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
ZECHARIAH 14 Verse 9: Then the Lord will be KING over all the Earth; everyone will worship HIM as GOD and know HIM by the SAME NAME.
    GOD's NAME:
John 17 Verses 11 and 12: JESUS was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane for his Disciples, "HOLY FATHER! Keep them safe by the power of your NAME, the NAME you gave me, so that they may be one just as you and I are one. While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your NAME, the NAME you gave me."
ZECHARIAH 14 Verse 17: If any nation refuses to go and worship the Lord Almighty as KING, then RAIN (WATER) will not fall on their land.

Your overall point is correct but there are a few steps missing… after the vowels of Adonai were added it was mistranslated into Latin and from there transliterated into German… and from there transliterated into English which is how we get Jehovah… it was actually multiple mistranslations bases on a misunderstanding. So it may have become a modern name for God but it is not his real name from scripture.

There is also a clue in the names of people in the Bible whose names were made up in part from the names of their gods, referred to as THEOPHORIC NAMES IN THE BIBLE,,,,,,theophoric names are names derived from a god. For example:
False gods: Bel and Nebo: Bel = Belteshazar (Daniel) Nebo = Nebonidus, Nebuchadnezzar,
True God Yeho(vah) ….Yehoyakim, Yehoram, Yehoshua, Yehoshaphat, Yehudah, Yehoash , Jeho-a-haz
We do not find many names in the OT which start off with Yah or end in "Weh"
The CLUE is in the name. If you really are open minded and really do want to find out the real way to pronounce God's name, then may I suggest that you look into it with an open mind. The Hebrew scholar Nehemiah Gordon will point you in the right direction as he does NOT have a horse in the race, and will prove how the name was NEVER LOST, but rather was hidden !

The hybrid Names "Jehovah" & "Jehovih":
This is how i understand it from the Masoretic scribal device of ketiv/qerē ("written"/"to be read"):
The Name יהוה is normally pointed with vowels from 'ĂDŌNĀI (shəwa*-cholam-qamets) meant to be read as "ADONAI", not Yəhovah.
(in some cases the pointing is incomplete)
However, when The Name יהוה occurs direcly next to the Title 'Ădōnāi (Lord) אדני it is pointed with vowels from 'Ĕlōhîm (shəwa*-cholam-chireq) meant to be read as "Elohim", not Yəhovih (i suppose to avoid reading "Adonai ADONAI"), translated by the NIV as "the Sovereign LORD" (ex. Isai 48^16 [adonai YHWH] ; Hab 3^19 [YHWH Adonai]).
*the simple shəwa instead of the compound is used with the non-gutteral letter Yod (compound shəwa occurs on the Hebrew gutterals).
Jesus answers my prayers in His Name in my language (i'm not English) - He has done Miracles for me🛐

But if you want to know how Gods name was pronounce, look at theophoric names. Jeho-nadab, Jeho-shua, Jeho-shaphat, etc.

My answer is, watch the video..JEHOVAH is an invented word, not an actual name, made up of the mix up of the consonants and vowels of TWO words, LORD, (adonai), and YHWH, ..YHWH is as close as anyone can get to knowing Gods real, actual name, and obviously, thats by His choice, since He has allowed it to be left unknown. Christians, real christians, understand why this is.. to focus on the only ONLY name under heaven that is important and God wants us to focus on Jesus, or, yeshua, which is an actual name
we know where the "name" Jehovah came from, it is not a translation of anything, but a creation to make people feel like they are closer to God, same thing the JW's do today.. but, its not actually anything bu the invention of a Catholic priest, Martini, in the 1500's, copying the idea form the superstitious Jews of old

siicpaxsheechpaw the name JEHOVAH is documented as starting with the Catholic monk, martini. this is found in the watchtower CD rom, as well a sin all historical sources on the subject. The name YHWH is the only thing we have in the original language, as to Gods name. There is no way to KNOW what that name was. If God is protecting and preserving His word, then the name is not supposed to be KNOWn at this point. and that makes sense, as the name JESUS was promoted and considered most important by Paul, Peter, and ll bible writers of that day.. the word JEHOVAH is not a translation, but an INVENTION , a mix of two words, that are not either of them Gods actual name, as we do not know Gods name, and, its mixed with Adonai, or, LOrd.. this is well known, and even considered in the WT cd rom

+shawn gregory I should tell you that I'm not a JW. So I don't believe in everything the Watchtower says. But I do believe that the Watchtower has it right when it comes to the name Jehovah.and I can prove it ! Did you know that the English name Jesus is a translation and was unheard of back then, because English is only a 1,000 years old,not 2,000 years old ? Tell me what is Jesus name in Greek and it's phonetic pronunciation in Greek ?
And what do you really know about Raymundus Martini ? did you ever do any real research on this monk ? I have and I was surprised to find out who he was and his qualifications.
The name Jehovah was not made up from two words. That information is a total lie. How do I know this ? because I study Hebrew and I can show you.But before I teach you some facts about Hebrew I will address your uneducated assumption of Raymundus Martini.

I always find it funny how it is always NON Jews or rabbis that are giving the historical answer as to a Jewish practice. Who said THEY used Adonay’s vowels to create Jehovah? Only clueless NON-Jews would do that. The Masonite vowel points maneuver was done for the reason he said; for one to publicly say “Lord”. That never meant “they did not know the name of God and it’s vowels. You can’t make a deception practice if you do not know the original. The vowels as per rabbis are “Shiva, Cholam, Kamatz” ( e, o,a) and the name is Yehovah. The latinized version with J is Jehovah. Folks went all around the beaten track and the Jews, as in the rabbis, knew the name and the vowels the whole time. Next time ask them and research from them directly. Just sayin.

Amen! From the Hebrew grammar alone without any theological nonsense it is obvious to anyone who passes Hebrew 102 that God’s Name carries His eternal nature:
יהיה - yehyeh - He will be
הוה - hoveh - He is
היה - hayah - He was
The Masoretes' main goal was NOT to cipher the Name (that would be the Name's blasphemous defiling on their part) but to PRESERVE the correct pronunciation for future generations.
And they did preserve the vocalization for the Name which today every Tanakh published in Israel has, i.e. Yehovah יְהֹוָה

@@STROND Today in Israel there have been at least two generations already for whom Hebrew is our native first tongue. Almost all published books of the Torah and Tanakh in Israel (I have three hard-copies in front of me by three different publishers) have the Name written as יְהֹוָה that is read as Adonai publicly and Yehovah inwardly. Even Chabad Tanakh Online has it as יְהֹוָה with distinctive Holam o/aw-sound after Heh הֹ.
We just can’t help reading it differently. The eye does it itself.
SO, regardless of what rabbis say, or what pseudo-scholars may construct in their imagination, WE DO READ AND PRONOUNCE THE NAME AS YEHOVAH when we read inwardly and even publicly, especially among the Messianic community. Check the proof th-cam.com/video/oiP-yyzCAco/w-d-xo.html (in fact I have a selection from Israeli radio casts of people saying the Name as it is written, that is Yehovah).
It seems God DOES WANT His Name to be remembered AGAIN through His people as YeHoVaH.

Hebrews originally took great pride in knowing God by his name. To honor God Hebrew parents often christened their children with names that incorporated the divine name in various ways. Several dozen Hebrew names were derived by fusing the first and first and second syllable of YHWH with other words. For example, here are a number of Hebrew names whose first syllable corresponds to the first syllable of the divine name: Je-coliah, Je-coniah, Je-daiah, and others.
    Other Hebrew proper names integrated the first two syllables. Names such as the following: Je-ho-addah, Je-ho-addin, Je-ho-ahaz, Je-ho-ash, Je-ho-hanan, Je-hoi-achin, Je-hoi-da, Je-ho-ram, Je-ho-shabeath, Je-ho-shaphat, Je-ho-sheba,
    Je-ho-shua (Jesus)
The various Hebrew names above prove that the vowels associated with YH, or JH in English, are “e” and “o,” indicating that the first two syllables in English are: Je-ho.
Other Hebrew names used the last syllable of YHWH to form a suffix for a new name -names that end in “ah” or “iah.” And there are many. Here are just a few to illustrate the point: Hezek-iah, Jerem-iah, Zephan-iah.
The use of “iah” as a suffix indicates that the third syllable was pronounced with “a” sound. Putting it all together the English name Jehovah perfectly reflects the way the Hebrews spelled the word.
The construction of Jah or Yah in Hebrew, is derived from fusing the first consonant with the last syllable of Jehovah. By the way, the Hebrew prophet Elijah used the name Jah as a suffix. Eli, of course, is the shortened form of Elohim, which in Hebrew means God. Thus, Elijah means “my God is Jehovah.” I am proud to say mine is too
There were others who had "jah" as a suffix too. Abijah (My Father Is Jehovah) is one that comes to mind. And so does Adonijah (Jehovha is Lord). The suffix "Iah" is also the same word, and Azariah (Jehovah has Helped) is one. Isaiah (Salvation of Jehovah) and Nehemiah (Jah/Jehovah Comforts) are a couple others that come quickly to mind

JWs call "jehovah" a "misspelled & mispronounced" name for God, they even produced literature calling it a "blunder". "Yahweh . .. is admittedly superior to Jehovah. *'The wrong spelling Jehovah* occurs since about 1100' and then it offers its arguments in favor of Yahweh as the correct and original pronunciation." - Let Your Name Be Sanctified, Jehovah's Witnesses, p 16-20 (JW literature)
(JW literature) AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING 1971 Watchtower and Bible Tract Society p884-885 - literature elaborates as to its Catholic origin in 1270:
By combining the vowel signs of 'Adho.nay and 'Elo.him' with the four consonants of the Tetragrammaton the pronunciations Yeho.wah' and Yehowih' were formed. The first of these provided the basis for the Latinized form "Jehova(h)." The first recorded use of this form dates from the thirteenth century C.E. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican Order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270. *Hebrew scholars generally favor "Yahweh" as the most likely pronunciation.*
"jehovah" = misspelled, mispronounced name for God! A false name.
The only way to get rid of a false name for God is to quit using it.
They published a "worldy" Bible that says the name Jehovah was a "blunder." See JWs own Byington Bible in Living English, published by WBTS (1971ish), page 7, on your WT Library CD (this is in the intro so is conveniently been left off the JW dot Org website). (thanks Lee)
*"As to the Old Testament name of God, certainly the spelling and pronunciation "Jehovah" were originally a blunder."*
God wants his name to be known as a "blunder'? Seriously?
JW produced literature calls it wrong, misspelled, mispronounced and a blunder, seriously a "blunder"!!!

JWs love the name Jehovah that a Catholic monk first recorded in 1270 for their God. "The first recorded use of this form dates from the thirteenth century C.E. Raymundus Martini, a Spanish monk of the Dominican Order, used it in his book Pugeo Fidei of the year 1270." (JW literature - AID TO BIBLE UNDERSTANDING 1971 Watchtower and Bible Tract Society p884-885)LOL Catholic monk!!!
"Have you been taught to use God’s name, Jehovah? [first recorded by a CATHOLIC monk according to JW ORGANIZATION] If not, your salvation is in jeopardy, for “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved”!" -Acts 2:21; compare Joel 2:32. (”Salvation - What It Really Means,” The Watchtower, August 15, 1997, pgs 4-7) [in brackets added] How often did the Messiah use the name?

In your video you show the name of God in Hebrew with full vowels ( יְהֹוָה ). But you didn't read it the way it is written in the Hebrew language, instead you vocalized the word Adonai. I think you either don't know or you just avoid saying it.
God's name in Hebrew is written like this: יְהֹוָה
Many people are not aware of how to read it correctly, especially those who do not know how to read Hebrew.
The Jews pronouncing it as Lord or Adonai because of their Oral Law that forbids them to recite God's name. There are also some religious groups pronouncing it as Yahweh.
Various Bible translations fallowed the Jewish tradition to pronounce "Lord" from Hebrew word "Adonai" as their replacement of the true pronunciation of God's name.
The Hebrew word Adonai is written like this in Hebrew: אֲדֹנָי (ADNY).
But God's name is written like this in Hebrew: יְהֹוָה (YHVH).
It is clear that the name of God is different from the Hebrew word Adonai.
How to read God's name as it is written in Hebrew: יְהֹוָה ?
In order to read, we have to transliterate the letters in God's name from Hebrew into Phonetic letters or English Alphabet that we use. Any one can download the Hebrew Alphabet and Nikkud Charts from Google like in the link below. You can use your smartphone.
    👇
    www.pinterest.ph/pin/hebrew-alphabet-chart-the-israel-bible--202380576984463977/
The Hebrew letters of God's name are: Yod - Hey - Vav - Hey or YHVH.
Yod or Y is the 10th letter in Hebrew Alphabet.
Hey or H is the 5th letter in Hebrew Alphabet. There are 2 letters Hey in God's name.
Vav or V is the 6th letter in Hebrew Alphabet.
The tiny signs, dots or combination of dot and dash are the Nikkudots or vowel symbols.
    Shva (:) 2 dots underneath the letter Yod or Y ( יְ ) for sound "e". So, Y + e = Ye
    Cholam (•) a dot on the top of letter Hey or Vav ( הֹ ) for sound "o". So, H + o = Ho
    Kamatz (T) look like tiny letter "T" underneath the letter Vav or V ( וָה ) for sound "a". So, V + a + H (last Hey) = Vah
    To combine:
    Ye + Ho + Vah = Yehovah.
The vocalization of God's name in Hebrew YHVH is Yehovah and the transliteration in English is Jehovah.
Is it true that the vowels of the name Yehovah in Hebrew are from the vowels of Adonai?
    The answer is NO!
    The vowel of Adonai are:
    Chataf patach "a"
    Cholam "o"
    Kamatz "a"
    (a - o - a)
    It has no shva.
While the vowels of Yehovah are:
    Shva "e"
    Cholam "o"
    Kamatz "a"
    (e - o - a)
    It has no Chataf patach.
The vowels of God's name is similar to the vowels of Hebrew word "le'olam" / l(e)(o)l(a)m (to eternity or forever) that can be read in Exodus 3:15.
The vocalization Yahweh with vowels "a" or "e" cannot be found in Jewish Hebrew manuscripts. How can you said that Yahweh is the correct Pronunciation if there's no evidence from the Hebrew Manuscripts that it is the vocalization of God's name? Can you give us any Jewish Hebrew Manuscripts that vocalized God's name as "Y(a)HW(e)H?
Even the Hebrew name YHVDH (with similar letterz of God's name YHVH except the letter Dalet or D in YHV[D]H) is pronounced as Yehudah which is very close to the pronunciation of God's name YEHOVAH but it is obviously far from the pronunciation of Yahweh.
    According to Jesus:
    John 5:43 RTPV05
"I have come IN MY FATHER'S NAME, but you do not want to receive me".
In his conversation with God the Father he said:
    John 17:11 - Bible Gateway
"Holy Father, protect them through YOUR NAME YOU HAVE GIVEN ME".
What name was given to Christ?
    Matthew 1:20,21
    Aramaic Bible in Plain English
“And she shall bring forth a Son, and she shall call his name Yeshua,"
The name Jesus is from the Hebrew name Yehoshua (Yeshua in Aramaic). "Yeho" is shortened form of (Yeho)vah and "Shua" is Saves or Salvation. It is not pronounce as "Yahw" of Yahweh.
The initial Pronunciation of God's name is already given in Hebrew name Yeho•shua that the transliteration in English are Joshua and Jesus.

Some Hebrew consonants did make vowel sounds and were originally understood as such. JHVH = IEUE. This is a vowel chant used by many temples through out Eurasia as an expression along with other divine names of deities. Other variants are EA, IEU, IEO, IAO, IAU, IAAW, JOVE, IEOUE etc. At some point rabbinical Judaic [Pharisee] conspirators decided to conceal all the divine names in the Old Testament, which were from Europe, Ugarit/Canaanite, Assyrian, Sumerian and Babylonian religions that described other gods, angels and forces and were morphed into one God.

The NAME OF GOD is more than letters... is HIS PERSON... JESUS or YESHUA called GOD “FATHER”... there is a relationship, a communion that goes beyond the letters. Never in the New Testament HE called GOD YAHWEH (and HE was and is) or any other Name... GOD has many Names... but HE called HIM FATHER... The HOLY SPIRIT reveals THE SON and THE FATHER so HIS NAME is written in our hearts not because of a methodology, but because of HIS WISDOM and LOVE and POWER... Christianity is a revelation of THE PERSON OF GOD... if we stay in the numbers and the methods we miss the whole point... GOD wants communion with and within us... for HE doesn’t live in temples made by men, but HE does live in temples made by HIS HAND... alive and resurrected to a new LIFE is CHRIST JESUS...

Yahweh or Jehovah is correct. Google YHWH . It says that Yahweh is the Jewish name for God and Jehovah is the most popular English pronunciation. And I dont agree that GOD'S name was pleft out of the scriptures for the reasons you said. God's name is in original scriptures over 7000 times but most translations took YHWH out and instead put in Lord or God. Before the end comes YHWH says they will all know that I am Jehovah or if you prefer YAHWEH. JESUS SAID IN John 17; 6 and 26 that he came to make his Father's name known. The Jews were not using God's name out of superstition. God's name should Not have been left out of the scriptures. Satan doen't want people to know and use God's name. JESUS IS God's son. He is Not Jehovah.

Jesus said in John 8:58 that he was the I AM..which this word references back to Exodus 3:15,which is the source of the Sacred name of God Yahweh.in Revelation 1:8,11,18...where he declares that he is Alpha and Omega the Beginning and the End, The Almighty. Isaiah 9:6 says Jesus is the Mighty God,The Everlasting father..John 1:1 he is the Word, that was with God and was God..he is the Creator...Jesus was never a created being..Never an Angel..the Bible says he was from Everlasting to Everlasting..Micah 5 :2...people get confused because Jesus possessed a dual nature,he was both Human and Divine..Phillipians 2:6 says Jesus was equal with God.because he was God manifested in Human Flesh..

Also Revelation 1: 1 says A revelation by Jesus Christ which ( GOD GAVE HIM ) Also Revelation 3 : 14 says These are the things that the Amen says , the faithful and true witness , ( the BEGINNING of the creation by God.
Also Colossians 1: 15 says " He is the image of the invisible God the FIRSTBORN of all creation because by means of him all other things were created. Yahweh aka Jehovah used Jesus in creating all other things. John 14: 28 Jesus said "THE FATHER is GREATER than i am."
Jesus was the name given to God's Son on earth. In heaven he was Michael the ARCH angel. There is only ONE ARCH angel and that is MICHAEL.
1 Thessalonians 4: 16 says because the LORD himself will decend from heaven with an ARCH - ANGELS voice and with Gods trumpet and those dead in union with Christ shall rise first
Jesus is called the word of God because hes Gods spokesman. Jesus said everything he said he recieved from the FATHER.
IN John chapter 17 Jesus raised his eyes to heaven praying to his FATHER and said many things ,one of which is in JOHN 17 : 6 and 26 "Jesus said i have made you NAME known "
The Jews at that time were not usiing Gods name which is represented by YHWH or JHWH the Jews filled in vowels as they read. YHWH OR JHWH is in the original writings about 7000 times but man left it out of most bible translations and instead INSERTED God or Lord.
In Revelation 1: 5 says Jesus was called the FAITHFUL WITNESS the first born from the DEAD.. Jesus witnessed about His Father , He also used his Fathews name and made it known to others.
Matthew 6: 9 Jesus told us to pray to the Father in his name. Jesus is the mediator between the Most High and humans.
Luke 1: 32 says Jesus is SON of the MOST HIGH. Psalms 83: 18 in the older King James version it says " That people may know that you whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. Jesus is Jehovahs son. The scriptures are very clear on this.
There are so msny scriptures to tell us that Jesus always directed attention to his Father and wants us to follow him in doing the same thing. One only has to read Matthew Mark Luke and the gospels of John to understand that Jesus is not The Father. Stop listening to the clergy class and read the scriptures and pray to God for help in understanding.
Time is short , great tribulation fast approaching. No time to mince words .

Dee B you are wrong and are you blind,I have a collection of some 35 different Bible versions I consult for my studies..the consensus is that in John 8:58 Jesus "said" he was the I AM..the KJV the New KJ V the New English Bible, the New American Standard Bible ,the Authorized Standard Version 1901,the New Testament in Modern English(J B Phillips),the Revised Standard Version, the Emphatic Diaglott(if you even know what that is),also the Darby Bible, the Centenary Bible, and the Websters Bible, the Stevens Translation,AND LAST The Most Important Version is the first Bible that was brought to America, before the KJV..this is THE GENEVA BIBLE of 1560...did you see that? all these Bible have translated john 8:58 as THE " I AM" and NOT as I was..This word from these bibles says it references back to Exodus 3:14 where it declares the Sacred name,I AM that I AM...Yahweh the Eternal Self Existent One.. I think your problem is that you have been schooled by your denomination into believing something that isn't true, because somebody would've known these truths.I let the Holy Spirit teach me,as it says in the Holy Scriptures, and not mans way..for if one is blind then all will be blind...need I say more..Maranatha

But you are not understanding that when Jesus came into this world he made of himself no reputation.."and" when he was in Human flesh he was subject to his Father and his Father was greater than he as a "human" you need to understand that the Human was subject to the Divine .Jesus had a dual nature,he was God and man..but coming into this world he laid aside his divinity so he could live as a man and die on the tree for our Sins.but after that he returned to Glory..Jesus was never an Angel, the Bible says that God said to the Angels none of you are my Son,or when did I ever begot thee? why are there if thou canst tell so many Scriptures references stating that Jesus was God,by his contemporaries? also Genesis 19:24 says that Jehovah rained fire and Brimstone from Jehovah out of Heaven..here there is one being on the Earth named Jehovah and there is one in Heaven named Jehovah..or in some bibles it uses the term LORD but others Jehovah..now was Michael the Arch Angel ever called LORD or Jehovah? NOT!! was Michael ever called God? NOT!! but Jesus was...Jesus was God's Son by way of the Virgin Birth into Humanity..but not God's Son in his pre existence ..it is very obvious that you are a J.W. and you do not accept Jesus for who is was and is...it is you who are blinded by your denominational influence and teachings.the Holy Spirit is my guide and teacher, not man..I do not belong to any Church...but to Zion in Heavens Realm...the Church without walls..made up of true believers all over the earth..the Church or Assembly or Congregation whatever you will is not man made..it is a called out body of believers all over the World..who follow the Lamb wherever he goes.and Yes I know the time is really really short..are you prepared to meet your King of Glory or an Angel? may the Eternal Sovereign God open your eyes to see his wonderful saving grace.I have.do your own Bible studies instead of following your denomination,or can you? you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free..I am

I like your approach in dealing with the Yehovah/ Yahweh issue as which one is the correct name of GOD . You said Yehovah came to be after adding the 3 vowels (EOA) of adonai to the Hebrew tetragrammaton. Now, I am wondering where the vowels of Yahweh came from, bearing in mind that the masoretes did not want anybody to know the right pronunciation of the Holy Name of God and thus they hide the original vowels of the Name YHVH. So nobody is 100% sure which one of the names - Yahweh or Yehovah/Jehovah- is the most correct rendering for the name we should use in our conversations with our Father in Heaven. The name of God is one and there shall come a day when his name is revealed.

Jehovah is God's name translated into English. It is pronounced differently in many countries because of their consonants and vowels. No one knows exactly what the pronunciation is as people stopped using it because of superstitious beliefs as taught by the religious leaders, and as a result the pronunciation was lost forever over time..
The bible records God’s name Jehovah some 7000 times. And the bible writers and the people recorded in the bible used God’s name and identified it as the name of the only true God, no matter how it is pronounced. King David even wrote songs about God’s name in Psalms 69:30 it reads “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving”. - New King James Version. Psalms 86:12 also reads “I shall confess to you, Lord Jehovah, my God, from my whole heart and I shall glorify your Name to eternity!” - Aramaic Bible in Plain English
As someone who knew God intimately, Jesus used God’s name many times. It is recorded for us throughout the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Unfortunately you would not know that as many bibles have removed God’s name Jehovah from the bible to support the trinity.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:9 (in what is known as the Lord’s Prayer), first and foremost when praying before praying about anything else first, Jesus said: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name”. Then in verse 10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” - New King James Version. Since we don’t commonly use the word Hallowed today, another translation reads it this way “You should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, help us to honor your name”. - Contemporary English Version. We cannot honour God’s name if we don’t use it. In fact, that is the precise reason why we don’t know the exact pronunciation of God’s name, because people stopped using it.
Jesus made it a priority to teach people about God’s name throughout his ministry and at the end of it he said in John 17:25 &26 “O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them” - New King James Version.
All bibles substitute the name Jehovah for Lord in Romans 10:13, with the exception of the New World Translation, Divine Name King James Bible and the Aramaic bible in Plain English which reads “For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” Verse 14 includes why it is important to use God’s name “However, how will they call on him if they have not put faith in him? How, in turn, will they put faith in him about whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?” - New World Translation.
Certainly this name is most important. It is the name of our God as he himself proclaims in Isiah 42:8 “I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images” - American Standard Version.
Since Jesus used and proclaimed and taught his followers to pray to the God which that name belongs to, it makes sense that the name YHWY or more commonly Jehovah translated into English is there in the New Testament as well as the old.
This link explains why the Fouad manuscripts were so important in the returning Gods name back into the bible. www.jw.org/en/library/videos/#en/mediaitems/VODBibleTranslations/docid-502018464_1_VIDEO.
The new Devine Name King James bible has set to correct a serious error by returning God’s name back in its 7000 places. As the forward in the Divine Name King James Bible reads “The translators of the Authorized King James Version of the Bible the translators knew that God’s name is Jehovah and put it in the Bible in 4 places and in over 6000 places put LORD where they could see God's name. There are now thousands upon thousands of ancient hand written copies of the Bible that clearly show where God's name appears in the Bible”. You can read it online at www.dnkjb.net/
I love this quote from the publishers of the Divine Name King James Bible (DNKJB).
“One only need to keep in mind that the King James Bible is known for the liberty its translators took when choosing how to express God's name without really using it. Imagine any great autobiography where the name of the key person was removed”.
Also, “We have kept in mind our brother scribes from ancient times as we worked and endeavored to be as meticulous as they. Whatever our costs have been, the results we believe transforms the King James Bible into a word far more comprehensible, with Jehovah's name in the text do the work of eliminating the source of countless contradictions that the word LORD has caused. We make no apology for saying that The Divine Name King James Bible is merely saying what the King James Bible should have been saying for the last 400 years”.
    dnkjb.net/faq_dnkjb_online.htm#official_dnkjb
The translation of the Tetragrammaton YHWY in the original manuscripts does not translate to Lord. Lord is a title, where YHWH is God’s name, and most commonly this translates to Jehovah in English. Like Jesus, the apostles and bible writers we should follow their dedication in preserving God’s name and use it as instructed, with honour and with the aim to sanctifying it. If God put his name in the bible it must be there for a purpose, after all 2Timmothy 3:16 reads “Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live” - Contemporary English Version.

@@-.George. Yahweh as you pronounce is in reality the same God which Muslims worship. It is the same God because of the reasons below. So I find it amusing that you have managed to disrespect your own God. The word Allah is the Arabic word for God. The encyclopedia Britannica confirms this. “Allah, Arabic Allāh (“God”), the one and only God in Islam”. www.britannica.com/topic/Allah . Allah is not God’s name as used by his Prophets and bible writers as many Muslims proclaim. I do not think that the name Jehovah either in Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic as it was written or in Arabic when the Quran was penned like it was in the bible. So like most bibles it does not use God’s name.
Jehovah is the God of Abraham, Moses, the Prophets, the God of the Hebrew Scriptures, The God of Jesus, His disciples, and Apostles, and all the writers of the bible. Does not the The Qurʾan mention the word Torah eighteen times, and confirms that it is the word of God. Jehovah is God's name translated into English. It is pronounced differently in many countries because of their consonants and vowels. No one knows exactly what the pronunciation is, because people stopped using it out of superstitious beliefs as taught by the religious leaders, who replaced God's name Jehovah with Elohim meaning God, and Adonay' meaning Lord, and as a result the pronunciation was lost forever over time. Many have argued over how it should be pronounced and gotten nowhere.
This was done to make it easier to teach the pagan teachings of Pagan gods by the Church.
Since Mohammad came about 500 years after Jesus, and the Trinity and other false teachings had been deeply rooted, it should have corrected these and exposed these teachings as lies, but it does not. It should have also restored God’s name, which it also does not. However we don’t need the Quran to root out false teachings such as Confirming God’s name in 7000 places in the origional text, or the Trinity, The Cross, Christmas, Easter, and Hell as the bible can do that on its own.
The name Jehovah, is the name God gave to himself to identify himself as the one true God, against the multitude of false god’s then and now. There is only one Jehovah. Never do we read of ‘the Jehovah of Israel’ or the ‘living Jehovah’, for Jehovah lives. The name allows of no limitations. The most distinct attributes of the name are self-existence, un-changeableness, and eternity.
He revealed himself to Moses. “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: . . . Jehovah, the God of your fathers, . . . this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” - Exodus. 3:14, 15, - American Standard bible. The name “I AM” is from the same Hebrew root word as Jehovah. Other renderings of the full phrase are “I am because I am”; “I am who am”; “I will be that I will be.” Every living creature, visible or invisible is or exists by reason of some provision made by Jehovah, but ‘He is because he is’. In this sense no one else is. These definitions clearly show the idea of independent existence, uncontrolled will and action. He always is and is the same always, never ceases to be, cannot change, and is eternal.
In Deuteronomy 6:4 says: Moses commands these words: "Israel, remember this! The LORD--and the LORD alone--is our God. - Good News Translation. This is the way most bibles translate this verse, however these bibles have taken the name of the true God Jehovah out and substitute it with “Lord” or ‘God”, to confuse the scriptures to promote the pagan teaching of the Trinity. This Scripture should really read it this way: “Hear, Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah;” - Darby Bible Translation, Young's Literal Translation & the New World Translation. The World English Bible translates it with a different pronunciation of God’s personal name. “Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God; Yahweh is one:”.
King David sung songs about the true God of Israel and in Psalms 83:18 it states: “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.” - King James Bible. Interestingly the more modern version of the king James bible has removed it all together and in Psalms 83:18 it reads “
That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.” - New King James Version.
In the Quran, Surah An-Nisa 4:163 of the Qurʾan states: "and to David We gave the Psalms". Therefore, Islam affirms that the Psalms attributed to David from the Book of Psalms were inspired by God. The Qurʾan mentions the word Zabur three times (Qurʾan 17:55; 21:105).
The prophet Zechariah also used Gods name many times but again most bibles substitute God’s name Jehovah for titles. At Zechariah 1:3 he writes: “Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the LORD of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts.” - New King James Version. However the manuscripts have YHWH and not Lord or God there so this scripture should really read “And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Return unto me, saith Jehovah of hosts, and I will return unto you, saith Jehovah of hosts.” - Darby Bible Translation
In the 7000 or so times YHWH is used, most bibles today have remove it all together as we saw in the case of the King James Bible.
Jesus tought that all worship go to the one true God, Jehovah. Jesus used God’s name while he was alive and as documented in Mark 12:29 - in the New King James Version it reads : “Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. Note that Jesus confirmed to the world that the Lord is “OUR GOD”. Or stated more accurately to include Gods name back in the Aramaic Bible in Plain English bible reads better: “Yeshua said to him, “The first of all the commandments: 'Hear Israel, THE LORD JEHOVAH your God, THE LORD JEHOVAH, he is One.' “. For those that want a more accurate reading I recommend the New World Translation version which clearly states: “Jesus answered: “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah,”. Yes hear we have yet another scripture which is confirmed by the Son of God himself, that the only true God is Jehovah. Please also see and compare Deuteronomy 6:4&5.

Yahshua said he came in his Father's name.
His Father's name is YAH (short for YAWHEH).
    Yahshua means YAH saves.
Both Father and Son bear the same first three letters: YAH
Yeshua is a Romanization of Yahshua and is simply wrong because it takes the Father's name out of Yahshua's name. Getting the name of our savior correct is not as important as the spiritual nature that constitutes him, but still important if you are going to call upon his name to be saved. Iesus and Jesus are made up pagan names.

In the Torah, there are only four pronunciations left by the Masoretes, they are:
Yehvah - from the word Elah (Gênesis 6:3, etc.)
    Yehovih - from the word Elohim - (Juízes 16:28, Sl 73:28, Is 50:4, Ez 2:4, 3:11, 27, 5:5, Zc 9:14;
    Yehvih - from the Eli - (Juizes 6:22; Is 25:8; 61:1; 61:11; Jr 2:22, Ez 5:7,8,11,6:3,11,7:2,5... Am 1:8, Ob 1:1, Mq 1:2, Sf 1:7).
    Yehovah - from the word Eloah -Gn 3:14; Gn 18:17; Ex 3:2, 13:3,15; 14:1
I believe it is Yehovah because this form appears in all theophanies. So the Masoretes really knew what they were doing when they placed each vowel according to context. Yehvah only when speaking about God, and Yehvih or Jehovih when speaking towards God in prayer or always together with the word Adonay.

And they believe that In the near future God Jehovah will bring back the paradise on earth and no one will die nor sorrow nor pain will be no more. Rev. 24:1,2...

God made this clear and how we know that anything else other than the Bible is God’s word. His name is Yehovah, but the JW’s is a deception. Prior to this they also taught Jesus returned in 1874......and only dropped that "truth" in 1943.....so back then they were going house to house telling even more lies........the one thing Jesus told us....was to beware of false prophets...."who come to you" (who else comes to you?)....you are the ones traversing land and sea to make disciples and teaching them lies.....I would stop doing that.

@tommy misenhimer Why does the New World Translation use the form “Jehovah”? In English, the four letters of the Tetragrammaton (יהוה) are represented by the consonants YHWH. As was true of all written words in ancient Hebrew, the Tetragrammaton contained no vowels. When ancient Hebrew was in everyday use, readers easily provided the appropriate vowels.
About a thousand years after the Hebrew Scriptures were completed, Jewish scholars developed a system of pronunciation points, or signs, by which to indicate what vowels to use when reading Hebrew. By that time, though, many Jews had the superstitious idea that it was wrong to say God’s personal name out loud, so they used substitute expressions. Thus, it seems that when they copied the Tetragrammaton, they combined the vowels for the substitute expressions with the four consonants representing the divine name. Therefore, the manuscripts with those vowel points do not help in determining how the name was originally pronounced in Hebrew. Some feel that the name was pronounced “Yahweh,” whereas others suggest different possibilities. A Dead Sea Scroll containing a portion of Leviticus in Greek transliterates the divine name Iao. Besides that form, early Greek writers also suggest the pronunciations Iae, I·a·beʹ, and I·a·ou·eʹ. However, there is no reason to be dogmatic. We simply do not know how God’s ancient servants pronounced this name in Hebrew. (Genesis 13:4; Exodus 3:15) What we do know is that God used his name repeatedly in communication with his people, that they addressed him by that name, and that they used it freely in speaking with others.-Exodus 6:2;1 Kings 8:23; Psalm 99:9.
Why, then, does this translation use the form “Jehovah”? Because that form of the divine name has a long history in the English language.
The first rendering of God’s personal name in an English Bible appeared in 1530 in William Tyndale’s translation of the Pentateuch. He used the form “Iehouah.” Over time, the English language changed, and the spelling of the divine name was modernized. For example, in 1612, Henry Ainsworth used the form “Iehovah” throughout his translation of the book of Psalms. Then, in 1639, when that work was revised and printed with the Pentateuch, the form “Jehovah” was used. In 1901, the translators who produced the American Standard Version of the Bible used the form “Jehovah” where the divine name appeared in the Hebrew text.
Explaining why he used “Jehovah” instead of “Yahweh” in his 1911 work Studies in the Psalms, respected Bible scholar Joseph Bryant Rotherham said that he wanted to employ a “form of the name more familiar (while perfectly acceptable) to the general Bible-reading public.” In 1930 scholar A. F. Kirkpatrick made a similar point regarding the use of the form “Jehovah.” He said: “Modern grammarians argue that it ought to be read Yahveh or Yahaveh; but JEHOVAH seems firmly rooted in the English language, and the really important point is not the exact pronunciation, but the recognition that it is a Proper Name, not merely an appellative title like ‘Lord.’”

3:20 those are NOT the vowels for Adonai. ( Ah, Oh, Ai is NOT Eh, Oh, Ah.) All of your subsequent speculation is, therefore, wrong. The omission of the cholam made the Name unpronounceable.
Yod, with a scheva (eh, short duration) Hey, with a Cholam, ( "O" ) and vav with a qamets (ah). To date, more than 1,000 ancient Hebrew manuscripts with all 3 vowels have been found, including Hebrew Gospels of Luke and John.
There is no 'J" sound in Hebrew. At the time of the KJV version that letter was being borrowed from German. Like Johnann, Jung and Jugoslavia, it has a 'Y" sound, as does the Hebrew 'yod.'

the vowels from Adonai are not actually placed around the Four Letters. They ARE different. Raymundus Martin vowel points it to read Yehowah, Again not the actual vowels of Adonai...
It is assumed that Adonai's vowels were placed around the Four letters, but upon a short examination it can be easily found out that Yehowah is not a hybrid YHWH and Adonai...

You have already started off your video with a major error. They didn't remove the vowels of God's name because of not wanting to speak it. In fact, Hebrew was never written with vowels at all. There were never any vowel letters in the Hebrew alphabet to begin with. Also, the prohibition of speaking God's name didn't actually take complete hold until 2oo years after Jesus. Before that, it was only prohibited to read aloud the name in religious services. But it was a name commonly spoken among many Jews in Jesus time.

Sorry. But I think you should have done more research before posting this video, especially that you are talking about God's name. Yahweh was just a translator's educated guess. Jehovah is God's real name. It is a unique name and it means "I Become What I Choose To Become." Do you know why many names in the Bible start with "Jeho?" e.g. Jehoahaz [Jehovah has taken hold], Jehoshua (Joshua) [Jehovah Is Salvation], Jehonathan [Jehovah Has Given], etc etc. Jews don't want people to use His name that's why they thought Bible translators this superstition. But our salvation depends on knowing Jehovah God personally that is why this is very very important. (Romans 10:13, 14; John 17:3)
I like your presentation though. But please do correct this misinformation. Thank you for your hard work.

Timothy Dalanon who said to you that Yahweh is not a hebrew name and doesn’t have any meaning? God the father gave his name to moises as Yahweh. Moises is a hebrew, Yahweh is a hebrew name. At that time there’s still no letter J in the hebrew alphabet. YHWH without vowel letters can still pronounce by the hebrew people at that time as Yahweh. So how come they translate it to jehovah? It is a holy name. They can translate it with their own alphabet but with the same pronounciation. We praise him Hallelu-Yah.

@@timd7995 I think our salvation depends only on having faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). But our salvation depends on knowing Jehovah God personally.
Here's my point: If THE LORD wanted us to know HIS name, HE would have gave it to us in the same way HE gave us the name of Jesus Christ.
So if a person knows the name of THE LORD, that fact alone (I mean, without faith in the Gospel) can not save the person's soul and go to heaven.

Son of Rock. Maybe it didn't happen like that! The point is the choice between YHWH(Yahweh) or JHVH( Jehovah). Here's a clue!!! In the word "hallelujah" is the sound "YAH" as opposed to "JAH"! Everywhere in the Bible when you see the letters "iah" ending in words that's the first part of the sacred name "YAHWEH"! Example: Jeremiah is YeremyYAH. Isaiah is YahshaYAH. Elijah is ElyYAH. You know how these words sound. Now can you see YAHWEH from the clues I gave you. If not there's no learning in you. HalleluYAHWEH!!!
