    So you want one of the most outrageous, flavorful and tender meatballs around that are CRAZY EASY to make, eh? LOOK NO FURTHER. I am KNOWN for these babies and always make them at any gathering (always by popular demand). And now, I've taken it up a notch by doing it in the Instant Pot! Meatballs serve so much more purpose than just being paired with its lover, spaghetti. They also taste amazing on their own with some Marninara sauce (or gravy), or as I love them most, as a MEATBALL HERO PARMIGIANA! You’re going to be singing “O Sole Mio” after you eat these and so will your family & friends!

    My mother taught me years ago to never, ever use sauce from a jar. For 40 years i made homemade marinara sauce. I would spend half the day simmering and perfecting and many told me it was one of the best. And then i tried Victoria marinara. I don't make my marinara very much anymore. It might not be as good but it really is great and do convenient. Great video by the way. Cheers!

    Made this in an 8qt. Instant Pot, and enjoying it right now. Some notes: the website recipe says 2cups water, and 3 cups for an 8qt pot. This *might* be a bit too much, but it doesn't ruin the flavor, just makes the sauce a bit thin. Additionally, we substituted ground chicken for the pork, and we had "traditional" Prego brand sauce on hand, so we used that instead of the recommended. Still came out fantastic and with the addition of pasta, salad, and fresh baked garlic bread, it's certainly a meal for 4 to 6 people.

    This is a fantastic recipe. I make them using ground white turkey, cream instead of milk, and I add chopped onions. The meatballs are award-winning and in addition, it is an amazing recipe for turkey burgers.

    I used this recipe to make the first gluten-free meatballs my husband ever really liked (he can't eat gluten for a medical reason). I used Ian's GF breadcrumbs, which you can find at Whole Foods/Amazon, and they turned out just great! I was a little worried about them but they were moist and tender but didn't completely fall apart in the Instant Pot. Thank you, Jeff!

    Victoria White Linen Marinara Sauce IS the best marinara short of a dear old Italian grandmother making it. Since I'm an Irish/German mix, nearly 50 (few short months) this is not happening anytime soon. That said I always pick-up Victoria's on every visit to Costo. I love this stuff whenever I cook Italian. I've made this recipe several times, and want to extend thanks to Pressure Luck for taking the time to share.

I will fine if I use my meat recipe and own sauce ? I may need to add the cup of water as my sauce will be thicker than marinara. I plan on making most of your recipes. Keep them coming. My husband and son will be very happy You rock the pot world.

    Hi Jeff your Instant Pot recipes are Great! Would it be possible to lightly brown the meatballs then pressure cook them for 10 minutes or would I need to reduce to cooking time from 10 minutes. BTW You need your Own TV!

    • @chargreene1
      @chargreene1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Haynes I was thinking the same thing, I think you could easily brown them on Sauté in the pot and then add the sauce and finish cooking. Meat balls need to be cooked through so I don’t think they will be over done with 10 minutes in the pot and then quick release. I haven’t tried it yet though. In other words, we are looking for medium rare meat balls so the cooking time really doesn’t need to change is what I am thinking.

    I am not sure what I did wrong but I also had spaghetti in the pot and “burn” kept coming up. I had increased the pasta sauce and added another cup of water. Every time it came to pressure the button would drop and the pot would switch to warm. The pasta had burned at the bottom of the pot and even though I deglazed, it wouldn’t continue. Finished it on the stove. The recipe is delicious though.

    I tried this tonight and it was tasty however the extra water just thinned out the marinara way too much. I wish the bottled sauce was thicker so I'm on the lookout for a good homemade recipe where I can "bulk it up" a bit. This sauce made my bread soggy. I wonder if it's a regional recipe thing.

    • @PressureLuck
      @PressureLuck  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jerry van West thanks for trying it out! Just as a rule of thumb, once any sauce cooks in the pot, it is a little thinner as soon as the lid comes off due to the pressure and heat. Water or not. With a few minutes of cooling, the sauces tend to thicken as evidenced when you put the leftovers in the fridge. The juices from the meat will contribute to that. Just let it rest a few on "keep warm" before serving.

      I agree that a whole cup seemed a bit excessive. I already find most canned sauces a little thin so I end up thickening them with heat and lots of stirring. When I have the time I prefer to make my sauce from scratch (as I am tonight) and once the pressure cooking is over I continue to let it stay hot and stir a lot just like the traditional way on the stove top. The 'love' mamas talk about isn't just care and devotion. It's also lots of heat and constant stirring.

    The Victoria White Linen sauce is no longer at our Sams or Costco! Found on Amazon for $26.99 Nooooo! Big difference, might have to make my own. Was hoping to try your suggestion, seems everyone loves it. Why do they carry things, get you hooked, then sorry we don't carry that anymore. :( Boo Hiss!

    I made this tonite, its the first recipe I made in this...not realizing you did not use a 3qt like I have…I followed your directions which brought the sauce level to the top…Did the quick release valve wish I could show you a picture of my cabinets loaded with sauce….I am going to have to figure out how to change recipes to 3 qt……ughhh
